B) Answer the followings

1- Amount of magnetic flux, which goes through the coil
2- Stored energy in the magnetic field of the coil.
3- Amount of induced electromotive force in the coil is the direction of the current is reversed during (0.25s).

B) Answer the followings


a) State the major properties of the electromagnetic. (5 Points)
b) A sodium surface is illuminated with light of wavelength.300 nm. The work function for sodium is
2.46 eV. (5 Points)
1) Calculate the energy of each photon in electron volts
2) the maximum kinetic energy of the ejected photoelectrons
3) the cutoff wavelength for sodium.

Q3.A) The first of the two neighboring coils with complete degree coupling has coefficient of self-induction
0,4H and resistance 16Ω. The second one has coefficient of self-induction of 0,9H.Vapp in the first coil is
200V.Calculate; 1) Instantaneous current and average time rate of current in the first coil at the moment of
increasing current to 80% from its constant rate. 2) Emfind in the second coil. (10 Points)

B) Answer two of the followings

uncertainty in determining the position of this electron. (5 Points)
b) What is meant by the following; Quantum mechanics, threshold frequency of metal, work function for the
metal. (5 Points)
c) Light of the capacity equal to (5eV) fell on a metal of aluminum. Electrons light were emitted. When the
same light fell on the metal platinum it did not emit light electron light. Explain that if you are given that the work
function for the aluminum metal is ( 4.08eV) and the work function for the Platinum metal is (6.35eV). (5 Points)
Q4.A) Two parallel-plate capacitors (C1 = 3μF, C2 = 6μF) connected in series combination. Their ends are
connected to poles of 24-volt battery; air was the insulator between the plates of each.
If an insulating material constant dielectric (2) is placed between the plates of each ( the group is still
connected to the battery),What is the potential difference between the plates of each capacitor and the
stored energy in the electric field between plates of each capacitor in two cases: (10 Points)
1- Before inserting the dielectric.
2- After inserting the dielectric.

B) Answer two of the followings


a) Give reason. The neon lamp that is connected in parallel to the coil is brightened(5 Points)
strongly for a short time at the moment of opening the switch in spite of that the battery is disconnected
from the circuit and does not glow when the switch is closed.
b) What happens when voltage of emitter is gradually increased? (5 Points)
c) What happens to central bright fringe in one slit diffraction if the width of the slit is reduced?

B) An AC circuit contains a resistor, a capacitor of capacitance 20μF and an inductor in parallel. The
group is connected to AC source of 100V and frequency of 100/π Hz. The actual power is 80W and the
power factor is 0, 8.The circuit has inductive property. (10 Points)
Find;
1) The current in the resistor and the current in the capacitor
2) Total current
3) phase angle and phasor diagram of currents
4) Self-inductance of the inductor

C) Conductor ring, its area 626cm² and its resistance is 9Ω. Magnetic flux density is (0,15T) in direction
of into page which is perpendicular the plane of the coil. The ring is pulled by two equal forces and area of
the ring becomes 26cm² in the time rate 0,2sec. Calculate the induced current in the ring. (10 Points)

C) A screen is placed at a distance of 4,5m from the plate with two slits. The slits are lightened with uni-
color light with wave length in the air λ=0.490m.Difference between the center of bright fringe and bright
fringe with order m=1 equals 4,5cm. Find the distance between two slits. (10 Points)
