PRE-LESSON:
Play the song from Activity 1 and have pupils sing along. (Track 3)ies.
LESSON DEVELOPMENT:
1. Activity 1:
a. Pupils get into groups and distribute a flag wheel to each group.
b. Pupils take turns to spin the wheel and say the name of the countries. (e.g. China)
c. Then, they say the corresponding nationalities of the countries. (e.g. Chinese)
d. The rest of the group members listen, put their thumbs up and repeat the words if the
answer is correct.
e. Pupils put their thumbs down if false. (peer assessment)
SUMMARY OF ACTIVITIES f. Walk around to monitor pupils’ activity and check pupils’ pronunciation.
3. Activity 2:
a. Distribute worksheet and explain the listening task.
b. Play the CD twice. (Track 8)
c. Pupils listen to the three descriptions and tick one of the three pictures according to what
they hear. (assessment)

1) At the end of the lesson, some pupils will be able to write sentences neatly using cursive

PRE-LESSON:
1.1. Place the family flashcards face down on a table in front of the class.
2. Take one of the flashcards. Cover it with a piece of card then slowly begin revealing the
flashcards to the class.
Pupils try to guess the word as it is revealed. Each time they guess correctly, put the
flashcard on the board. Continue until the pupils have guessed all the words.
LESSON DEVELOPMENT:
1. Activity 1:
Pre-teach family tree. Paste a family tree on the board.
Build model sentences on the board about the family tree.
e.g My name’s Hana. I’ve got three sisters and two brothers.
Try to elicit as much language from pupils as possible.
2. Activity 2:
Pupils complete worksheet by drawing their family tree and writing about their family
