Sore Eyes
Common terms used for Conjunctivitis are often sore eyes or Pink Eye. Conjunctivitis is the inflammation of the thin covering of the eyeball and inner eyelid. The inflammation is brought on by a viral, bacterial, or allergy infection. Extremely contagious, it spreads easily by eye to hand to eye contact, a runny nose or cough, or when people come into contact with a contaminated surface or object Symptoms-The symptoms include eye pain, your eyes are red and tired, you can feel something strange as if there is some sand in it, and pus may be visible.
Myopia
(Near-sightedness) is a refractive error where distant object comes into focus in front of the retina of the eye as a result of longer than normal eye-ball, so the distant object appears blur to the myopic eye. A bent concave lens is used to bring the focus on the retina to restore clear distance vision. However, the myopic eye can still see near objects clearly without any correction depending on the distance of the near objects in relation to the degree of myopia. It's important to detect and correct young children (under 6 years old) with moderate to high monocular myopia to prevent Amblyopia (lazy eye). Symptoms Myopia symptoms may be apparent in children when they are between ages eight and 12 years old. During the teenage years, when the body grows rapidly, myopia may become worse. Between the ages of 20 and 40, there is usually little change. Treatment
Hypermetropia
(Far-sightedness) is a refractive error where distant object comes into focus behind the retina when the eyes is relaxed. In children, distance vision is often not affected because of the active and strong focusing mechanism, the eyes have ability to bring the focus back onto the retina. However, for higher degrees of hypermetropia, it may cause blurred vision, headache, and even converging squints. These problems will be aggravated when doing near works which required greater focusing power. Signs & Symptoms of Hyperopia Symptoms of farsightedness may include: Headaches. Eye strain. Difficulty concentrating or focusing on nearby objects. Fatigue or headache after performing a close task such as reading.
Home Remedies Coriander. Boil dried coriander and use an eye wash. It reduces swelling, burning and pain. Warm compress. Place the hot compress on your affected eyes to ease the pain. Tea bags. Steep a tea bag in hot water then squeeze out some tea from it, and then place it on to the freezer until its cold. Then place the teabag on the affected eyes
Treatment Glasses or contact lenses with concave lenses will correct the eye's error and bring the images of far-off objects into sharp focus on the retina. Concave lenses curve inward, like the inside of a bowl. When blurred vision occurs, an ophthalmologist may prescribe glasses or contact lenses, with convex lenses to reinforce focusing power. A convex lens is rounded outward, like the outer surface of a globe.

Astigmatism
Astigmatism is a refractive error where distant object comes into two focal lines perpendicular to one another. These lines may lie in any orientation and any position in relation to the retina. This is primarily due to the aspherical (toroidal) corneal shape. Common symptoms of astigmatism include
Presbyopia
Presbyopiais an eye condition that will happen to some degree to everyone some time in life. People with presbyopia have a hard time focusing up close and find themselves having to hold up reading material at arms length to focus. They may also have headaches and eye strain when doing work close up. Symptoms
Blurred or distorted images at all distances Headaches Squinting and eye discomfort or irritation
Symptoms of presbyopia include: Blurred vision at a normal reading distance. The need to hold reading material at arm's length. Headaches from doing close work.
Treatments for Astigmatism Astigmatism can be corrected with glasses, contact lenses, refractive laser surgery and Implantable contact lenses. Astigmatism can be corrected by soft contact lenses as well as hard contact lenses. Contact lenses for astigmatism are known as toric lenses.
Treatment for Presbyopia Presbyopia cannot be cured. Instead, prescription glasses, contact lenses, reading glasses, progressive addition lenses, or bifocals can help correct the effects of presbyopia. Bifocals are often prescribed for presbyopia. Bifocals are eyeglasses that have two different prescriptions in one spectacle lens. The main part of the lens contains a prescription for near-sightedness or farsightedness, while the lower portion of the lens holds a stronger prescription to help a person see objects up-close.
