The Spaniards have taught us to celebrate fiestas with much celebration and extravagance. Nowadays, each city or barrio has its own local festival based on their
industry or as a way of thanking the feast of its patron saint. This festival
dances traces its roots during fiestas in Bauan, Batangas. It is performed during the month of May to pay homage to the Holy Cross: Mahal na Poong Santa Cruz.
We have several Muslim Ethnic group in Mindanao namely the Maranao, Maguindanao, Tausug, Yakan, Samal, Javal, Mapun, and Badjao. These ethnic groups perform
dances depicting their everyday lives. The movements are characterized by a stiff but languid grace of the fingers to express feelings and emotions.

1. Draw from the students the basic steps of the dances and instruct them to write the step-pattern, counting, and the dance terms used. This is also the
