b.168 ÷ 4 = n
c.144 ÷ 8 = n
d.156 ÷ 4 = n

B. Review
Conduct a recall on the divisibility rules for 3, 6 and 9. The
teacher prepares small cards with check marks. Have the
pupils place the check cards under the correct column.
C. Unlocking of Difficulties:
Digits are any of the symbols from 0 to 9
Difference is the answer in subtraction
Divisible by is when dividing a certain number that gives a
whole number answer
Divisibility rules is a short way of determining whether a
given number is divisible by another number without
performing the division.
B. Establishing a purpose for the How many of you have participated in the Brigada Eskwela?
lesson What did you do during the activity? Are you happy with
your participation?
C. Presenting examples/instance of During the Brigada Eskwela in Matagumpay Elementary
the new lesson School, 1000 pupils joined the cleanliness campaign.
Teacher Maya thought of dividing them into 8 members
each. Was she able to divide them with every pupil as a
member of a group? How many pupils joined the campaign?
D. Discussing new concepts and What does the problem asked you to do?
practicing new skills #1 How will you find the answer to the problem?
Ask the pupils to solve the problem.
 Solution 1A: Dividing 1000 by 8
1000 ÷ 8 = 125 , arranging the pupils by 8’s is possible
Solution 1B: Using the divisibility rule for 8.
A number is divisible by 8 if the number formed by the last
three digits of a number is divisible by 8
A number which ends with three zeroes is always divisible by
8, therefore 1000 is divisible by 8, and arrangement of pupils
by 8’s is possible.
E. Discussing new concepts and Discuss the divisibility rules for 4.
practicing new skills #2 Give examples of numbers that are divisible by 4.
F. Developing mastery A. Box the number that is divisible by 4
(Leads to Formative Assessment)
B. Is the number divisible by 8? Circle the answer.

G. Finding practical applications and During the Oplan Kalinisan, 1000 pupils joined the
abstractions about the lesson cleanliness campaign. Teacher Edna thought of dividing
them into 8 members each. Was she able to divide them with
every student as a member of a group?
H. Making generalizations and How do we find the factors of a number using divisibility
abstractions about the lesson rules?
We recall and apply the rules on divisibility for 4 and 8.
 Divisibility rule for 4
1) If the number formed by the last two digits of a
number is divisible by 4, then the last two digits of a
number is divisible by 4
2) A number ends with two zeros is always divisible by 4
 Divisibility rule for 8
1) If the number formed by the last two digits of a
number is divisible by 8, then the last three digits of
a number is divisible by 8.
2) A number which ends with three zeros is always
divisible by 8.

I. Evaluating learning Using the divisibility rule, encircle the numbers whose
factors are the given number before each item.
4___ 1. 84 480 60 264
8____ 2.2000 3928 6000 846

Off to the Bank

Hi, my name is Ana. I will accompany my Grandma to

the bank today. Grandma told me that we have to drop by
the bank before going to the mall to buy me a birthday
present. Today is May 28, 2020 and two days from now I will
be turning 10!
Grandma needs money for the birthday present.
Today, she will get 3,000 pesos from her bank account. She
will have to complete a form and she calls it a withdrawal
slip. Can you help Grandma complete the form, so that we
can have the money for my birthday present? Yehey! Thank
you.
Don’t forget to leave the depositor’s signature line
empty, so that Grandma can sign it.
Here’s Grandma’s bank information.

Name: Linda Cruz

Account Number: 0977 4444 88

C. Presenting examples/instance of Teacher prompts learners to examine closely the filled-out

the new lesson deposit slip. Let them analyze the form. What bits of
information was supplied in the form?
D. Discussing new concepts and  A deposit slip is a small paper form that a person
practicing new skills #1 includes with a bank deposit to show how much money
he or she is putting in a bank account. It contains the
deposit date, name and bank account number of the
depositor, and the amount to be deposited in the form of
checks or cash, and the signature of the depositor
 Specifically, a person who deposits or places money in a
bank account is called a depositor
Teacher discusses the tips on how to fill-out a deposit slip.
E. Discussing new concepts and Teachers presents a filled-out withdrawal slip.
practicing new skills #2  A withdrawal slip is a small paper form which has to be
filled out before making a withdrawal of money from a
bank. After filling out the bank slip, a person signs on it
in the presence of a bank teller.
 A bank teller is an employee of the bank whose job is to
help bank customers with their banking needs, such as
depositing checks or cash or making a withdrawal
Teacher discusses the tips on how to fill-out a withdrawal
slip.
F. Developing mastery A. Complete the deposit slip by filling it out with the most
(Leads to Formative Assessment) appropriate answers from the box.
B. Fill out a withdrawal slip using the suggested
information found in the box. Use the form provided to
you.

G. Finding practical applications and What is the importance of knowing how to fill out deposit
abstractions about the lesson and withdrawal slips accurately?
H. Making generalizations and What are the things you should keep in mind when filling
abstractions about the lesson out deposit and withdrawal slips?
I. Evaluating learning You have a savings bank account and you want to put an
amount of 2, 000 pesos into it, with the following cash
breakdown: two five hundred-peso bills and ten one
hundred-peso bills. Using the bank account number 0344-
5555- 22, complete a cash deposit slip. Fill out the form
provided to you.

J. Additional activities for application Read the situation. Fill-out the withdrawal slip. Use the form
or remediation provided to you
