ACTIVITY 2: How do you see yourself 2 years from now?

In the next 2 years I want to get better from what I am now. I look forward to deepening my skills
especially the skills that I have learned when I studied in college and taking my knowledge base to the
next level so I can contribute even more to the society. I envision myself putting all my skills and
knowledge to good use and have contributed a lot in a developing society or country. I believe that being
courageous and diligent along the way  are extremely vital in reaching the person that we want to become
in the future. So I am excited to put my time-management and organizational skills to work providing
good administrative assistance as required.
But I have this belief that we live in unpredictable times, and that making plans for the next
two years is crazy. The pandemic isn't over yet, and it's uncertain what the future of education will look
like or how it will affect teachers. So I don't have a clear idea of my future career in two years. One thing
is certain: I want to teach since it is something I like doing and considered to be my own duty. With the
current state of uncertainty, no one can predict whether I will teach here, elsewhere, or even distantly. I
actually do not have any plans yet. I prefer to be in the moment and concentrate on the work at hand. My
current objective is to secure a job as a teacher abroad or in a capital city and give my very best in every
lesson. One of the most essential lessons I've learned in life is that taking care of the present allows the
future to take care of itself. That is precisely how I feel about teaching and my future ambitions. I'll do my
best, and we will see what opportunities will open in two years from now.
But being completely honest with the question, ”How do you see yourself 2 years from now?”.
Well, I know I have to be too ambitious to answer this question. I can see myself as an effective and
radical English teacher. Because I believe that Teachers have a huge effect on the lives of the individuals
they teach. As a future teacher with the power to impact the lives of future generations, I want to be a
teacher who makes learning pleasurable for my learners. As a serious person, I feel that the tone in the
classroom where I will be teaching will be pretty serious, but I should be able to balance that with some
humour. Despite my nervousness, I picture myself opening up to my students and being able to have a
good dialogue with them. Based on my views and experiences throughout my high school years, the
majority of my problematic friends usually claim that they did not understand the relevance of the rules
that were imposed on them. They are unable to understand why a teacher wants them to do something or
prevents them from doing something.
This makes me conclude that, when I become a teacher, I want to be able to rationalize all I do
and everything I believe. I want to emphasize the significance of what they will learn so that they will
cherish the knowledge. Although I teach English, I want to be a teacher who can relate to my students in
all aspects of their lives. I want to be a teacher who has more experiences and enough knowledge so that
my pupils may seek advice from me. I also wanted to be a teacher who could help my pupils develop a
better attitude, from minor issues like littering to theological questions for Christians.
Finally, as a future educator, I desire to have the satisfaction of knowing that I, as a person, have
made a positive impact in the lives of my learners, the school community, and thus society as a whole. It
is my aim that through teaching the next generation in terms of morale and mentality, I would be able to
do enough to make a difference not only in the lives of the learners in my courses at that moment, but also
in their lives far into the future, and as a result, shaping the future of our country.
