I am one of the children of the late Spouses Arsenio and Purificacion Polancos. My late parents
were the tenants of a land owned by the late Spouses Marito and Elisa Polancos situated in Canlipot,
Calmante, Tudela, Cebu.
My late father died in 2017 and my mother, just in August of this year. During their lifetime, they had
been tenants of the aforesaid land for 59 years.
While our parent stand as tenants, we, nine of us, as children, have of our f actual hard in tilling and
cultivating the land, particularly planting, weeding and harvesting corn, camote, cassava, coconut, banana.
Now, the National Housing Authority will make the subject land into a relocation site. The procurement
or acquisition of the same was pushed by the Local Government of Tudela with the coordination of some local
unlicensed unregistered real estate brokers who fully knew that the land is tenant.
Direct to the point, the relocation project had its groundbreaking ceremony without even paying a
single centavo for our legitimate claims, through us as heirs of our parents.
The project would cut down, more or less, 500 coconut trees, scores of mangoes, cocoa trees, and bananas
already bearing fruits leaving us nothing.
Demands for compensation were made at the Office of the Mayor but we got only a pathetic answer
that we cannot demand compensation since the land was already foreclosed for non-payment of taxes which
is absolutely false.
Story has it that the NHA has allocated P100/square meter of the land as acquisition and since the
actual are of the subject land is 30,000 square meters or 3 hectares, the acquisition price is more less
P3,000,000.
Story has it further, that the heirs of the owner, Marito and Elisa Polancos was offered or even paid
P200,000.00 for the land, some unscrupulous people are signing in their way to bank to get their million while
we get nothing.
The story that the tenants have abandoned the land was so ridiculous since no tenant would abandon
300 fruit bearing coconut trees under normal circumstances.
Mr. Director I come to you now with hope and pray that you will take immediate action by stopping or
suspending the actual construction pending determination of our valid and legal claim.
Praying for your prompt action on this matter. Thank you and more power.

Sincerely Yours,
Dear Director,
Greetings!
I am writing you this letter just to inform you the more or less 500 coconut trees are about to
be cut down by the construction firm. The land which is full of coconut trees, 200 of them were
product of your program wherein farmers were paid to plant coconut trees. My father and my brother
are the being paid. These coconut trees are to be cut without paying us a single centavo. I have
doubt also if the contractor has the permit to cut there the coconut trees from your office.
I pray that your office would intervene in this matter and stop or block the cutting before
resolving the issue. Praying for your prompt action.
