be molded, but are people
to be unfolded.”

Very good Miss/Mr. _____.

So the qoute is about

children. It means that a
child’s life has the
opportunity to be radically
different from ours and that
we have some influence in
helping that child live a
wonderful life. Keep in mind
that, it is not up to us to
mold a child’s life. We are
only there to support them.
Am I right? Yes, Ma’am.

So that’s all for our warm-

up activity.

chairs.

So, there is a colored

paper. Have you notice? Yes, Ma’am.

Okay, listen everyone. I’m

only giving you 1 minute for
you to find the similar color
code with your classmates.
For those students who got
the matching colors, that
would be your groupmates.
Then form a circle without
creating so much noise.
Right side would be Group
1 and at the back of Group
1 is the Group 2. Left side
would be Group 3 and at
the back of Group 3 would
be the Group 4. Am I
understood?” Yes, Ma’am.

Okay, time starts now. (Students find their

groupmates and create a
circle)
Kindly choose your group
leader.

Activity Proper May I request the group

leaders to come in front to
get the envelopes. Do not
open it yet. Wait for my
instructions. Understood? Yes, Ma’am.

This activity is called finding

matches. Are you familiar
with this game? Yes, Ma’am.

Very good. So, inside the

envelope are pictures and
descriptions. All you have to
do is match the picture and
the description. I’m going
to give you 2 minutes to
match the pictures and
another 1 minute to attach
your output in the board.
And then after that, choose
1 representative to explain
your output.

Did you understand?

Yes, Ma’am.
Any clarifications?
None so far.
Now, open the envelope
and start the activity. (Students start matching
the pictures and text
descriptions)

(Timer: 2 minutes)

(After the alloted time,

representatives will
present their outputs in
the class)

C. Analysis Very good. I’m happy that

you’re able to present and
explain well your outputs.
Now that you gained
learnings about child
development, let us check
your understanding…
(Random answers)
Analysis Questions 1. What do you mean
by child Child development can be
development? defined as the process by
which a child changes
over time. It covers the
whole period from
conception to an
individual becoming a
fully functioning adult. It’s
a journey from total
dependence to full
independence.

2. What is child (random answers)

development and
why is it important? Early child development
sets the foundation for
lifelong learning,
behavior, and health. The
experiences children have
in early childhood shape
the brain and the child’s
capacity to learn, to get
along with others, and to
respond to daily stresses
and challenges.

3. What do you think is (random answers)

the most important
thing in child Family is almost certainly
development? the most important factor
in child development. In
early childhood especially,
parents are the ones who
spend the most time with
their children and we
(sometimes unwittingly)
influence the way they act
and think and behave.
D. Abstraction So now, let us discuss
Child Development and
It’s Importance

PPT Presentation What is Child Development?

Child development refers to

the sequence of physical,
language, thought and
emotional changes that
occur in a child from birth
to the beginning of
adulthood. During this
process a child progresses
from dependency on their
parents/guardians to
increasing independence.

Explanation It means that the child

development starts from
the childhood to the
beginning of adulthood.
So, it is really important
that we teach the children
properly in their early
years. The development of
the child depends on how
the parents or those people
around him treat the child.
The rxperiences children
have in early childhood
shape the brain and the
child’s capacity to learn, to
get along with others, and
to respond to daily stresses
and challenges.

Question What do you think is the (Random answers)

impact of the environment
to the early childhood An enriching and
development? Do you think stimulating home
there will be a positive environment fosters
impact? Or negative healthy growth and brain
impact? development by providing
a child with love,
emotional support, and
opportunities for learning
and exploration. In
families where only one
parent is present, there
are often fewer economic
and emotional resources.
While low incomes affect
child development. Low-
income parents may be
more depressed or
stressed; as a
consequence, they may
be harsher with their
children and less
responsive to their needs.
What are the two
PPT developmental milestones
of child development?

1. Typical Milestones
2. Atypical Milestones

What is Typical
Development?

Child development is
typically defined as a
normal progression by
which children change as
they grow older by
acquiring and refining
knowledge, behaviors, and
skills.

Smiling, crawling,
manipulating objects,
walking, self-care, and
talking are examples of
developmental milestones
that provide valuable
insight into a child’s
development. Most children
develop skills in similar
patterns and at similar
times.

What is atypical
development?

Atypical development is
when development doesn’t
follow the normal course. It
could include things like
learning and social
disabilities and disorders.

Atypical behaviors include

those considered to be
uncommon, such as
perseveration on specific
activities, adherence to
strict daily rituals,
aloofness, and echolalia
(repeating words,
phrases,or sentences).

Now that you understand

Activity: Reporting the two milestones of child
development. Each group
will report about the
various stages of
developmental milestones.

May I request again the

group leaders to get your
envelope, cartolina and felt (Group leaders get the

I’m going to give you 10

Any clarifications?

You may start now.

E. Application For your activity, every
group will create an
informational picture book
showing the difference of
typical and atypical
development of children in
various stages of their
development. You may
submit your output in
softcopy and send through
my gmail account. Only one
member every group will
send their output. Am I
understood? Yes Ma’am.

G. Valuing Why is it important for (random answers)
teachers to learn about
child development? When teachers
understand how children
develop, they’ll know to
separate the child from
the behavior to prevent
children from internalizing
harmful messages.
Looking at how children
grow and what they need
at different stages of
development will also help
teachers see a bigger
picture of education.

Very good. His/Her answer

correct. It is important for
teachers to study child
development because they
must understand the minds
of their students to educate
them effectively. As a
future educator,
unerstanding your students
can help you be more
empathetic to your
students.
