Programming Projects
Boccia Champions [C# (Unity) | PC]
➢ A 3D game created for the Scottish charity CHAS as part of 3rd year professional Project. The gameplay is based on the
Paralympic sport of the same name.
➢ Made by a team of 8 students over 2 semesters it allows users with restricted mobility to use the XBOX Accessibility
Controller to throw as many of their teams Boccia balls nearest the jack to score points over 5 rounds.
➢ My main Role of the project was Gameplay and UI scripting implementation, however I had to cover many other aspects
of the game’s development including UI Design, Asset and Animation Modification and Optimisation, Version Control
and Testing.
➢ The game won the Bronze Award for students at the International Serious Play Awards 2019.

Graphics Programming [C++ (DirectX11) and HLSL | PC]

➢ Developed an application that demonstrates different stages of the graphics pipeline by developing custom shaders using
HLSL in DirectX11. The application covers the usage of the Vertex, Hull, Domain, Geometry and Pixel Shaders.
➢ Using the shaders, demonstrations of vertex manipulation, such as loading height maps and billboarding, tessellation,
physically based rendering and a selection of post-processing effects were assembled.

Gameplay Programming [C++ (Unreal Engine 4) | PC]

➢ Created a Tethering Mechanic in 3D using Unreal Engine 4 using mechanics from another game as a reference.
The application uses a small level to showcase the different tethering abilities.
➢ The Tether has multiple mechanics that include Tether Attraction and Retraction, Tripwire and Detonation.

Audio Programming [C++, SFML & Audacity | PC]

➢ A demonstration application showcasing the generation and modification of audio samples and effects within a game
engine written in code and third-party software.
➢ The application was made using SFML, it contains A Note Synthesizer, Synthesis of SFX Waveforms, Dynamically
reacting music. Live effects were recorded and modified using middleware software such as Audacity.

Hobbies and Interests

I am very passionate about video games having played them beginning with our Amstrad CPC. Seeing the progression in
graphics and gameplay up to the modern generation of systems has grown my interest in games development with my favourite
genres being JRPGs and Racing simulators. As a motor enthusiast I also regularly host or attend events throughout the year
with my car or motorcycle owners’ clubs to help raise money for local and national Scottish charities.
