Introduction
According to Charles Darwin “A man who dares to waste one hour of
life has not discovered the Value of life”. He meant that the outcome of doing
time management helps us organizing a life plan and no more distraction that
might waste our time. By also planning our lives it allows us to accomplish
more in a shorter period of time, which leads to more free time, which lets us
take advantage of learning opportunities, lower your stress and helps you
focus.
They are a lot of ways on how you manage things and by doing all of
those helping methods you will have a smooth flow of plans in your life. Having
this kind of personality who treasures time, they already experience happiness.
By that thing only it is the precious feeling that we rarely could ever get. As a
student also we felt that way, like when we finished all the given task and had
a lot of vacant time that may be used to congratulate yourself or treat yourself
for doing good even just a simple things. Encourage and control yourself from
temptations to get used and manage time easily.

Abstract
After making questions, there are 62 out 131 students answered our
survey. The results from the survey showed that these students find time
management to be an important tool in their academic life. Which means our
research has a positive come up that they realize it may serves as a tool which
allows a student to be fully involved in all activities equally and taking the
responsibility in making sure that the tasks are accomplished.

Literature Review
In the relevant literature there are great number of academic studies
focusing on the relation between time management and academic
achievements. The related literature showed that the time management
attitude and skill levels of university students and the effects of these skills on
their academic achievement. The research revealed that a majority student
possesses moderate level time management skills and only a significantly small
Portion has high level time management skills (Yilmaz, Yoncalik & Bektaş,
2006). The literature revealed that the students’ time management skills affect
their academic achievement at a significant level and the skills are one of the
predictors of academic performance. The relevant literature suggested that
students should start to acquire time management senses on their own in their
primary school years by reading materials on the issue or via the framework of
psychological counseling and guidance studies applied in schools and adopt
effective time management attitudes and techniques to determine how and
where they spend their time (Lisa & Robert, 2008). The various group of
students who exploited time-saving proficiencies notably had rich academic
achievement. They accomplished those students who do not use time
saving techniques in their educational surrounding having significantly
lower academic as compared to results students who employ time-
management tactics have Journal of Literature, Languages and Linguistics
considerably higher achievement (Mercanlioglu, 2010).
Methodology
This research will mainly covered up the intentions to know the opinions
of the students if they are organize or very crucial to their time. The methods
used are as follows:
Collection of data - We distributed the links for like 1 week ago. In the first
day we collected at least 30 students who answered the survey already. We
received a quite cooperation of the students which is a sign of positive flow for
this research. It’s is also because we students have so much time to spend on
our phones that’s why they answered right away.
Limitations – Our research will only talks about time management. We have
our limitations of questions so that students will not be so bored for answering
long questions. We tried to do some new changes that students will be
interested for our research.
Data analysis – Out of 131 students in STSTI, only 62 students who answered
our survey which is also a sign of positive reactions. It’s not too few or many
but it can creates a neutral come up.

Conclusion
The data we have collected mostly gave us neutral answers. We can say
that the students here in STSTI use time management because it is part of our
daily basis. We plan as we woke up every day, as we eat or not, as we take a
bath or not. It’s actually part of our life that even though in small part of things
we are going to do we still have the plan and will to manage ourselves to be
able to do things in easy way. Some of the students in STSTI were so focused in
studying and were busy but still manage time properly. As a student, we really
had a lot of stuff that are given with our teachers but mostly of the students in
STSTI gives a big of time to complete it firstly.
Furthermore, Some of them said that they were a person who manages
time but because of stress and distractions that might leave things undone. We
usually had responses that they are mostly doe’s things when they are in good
mood to do. It’s a bad habit to continue that kind of habit for the students.
There are 62 responses out of 131 students in STSTI and they all lack of time
management. They just give time mostly for their entertainment. They were so
focused to their phone playing, watching, and chat someone up. Teenagers
today don’t know how to manage time preciously.

7 Time Management Tips for Students
by APSI Blog
1. Eliminate distractions
Get rid of anything that distracts you and allows you to procrastinate from
your work. While you are studying or writing, turn off your phone’s ringtones
and vibrations and put it in a drawer where you won’t be tempted to answer
calls and messages. Allow yourself to check your phone only once per hour.
Get off Facebook, Messenger, Youtube and other distractions. Save them for
when you are relaxing.
3. Use a calendar
A calendar is a great way to plan your day. It’ll be an easier way to schedule
your appointments and remember your obligations. It can also help you to
study in blocks and devote time to different subjects. Set up a calendar on your
phone or computer and ensure you stick to it. Factor in extra time in case an
activity takes longer than expected.
4. Use a checklist
A checklist is a great way to ensure you stay on task, by listing your tasks and
checking them off one by one once completed. It also gives you a sense of
accomplishment to tick off tasks when completed.
20
5. Get organized
Once you have your calendar and checklist set up, you should be well on your
way to being better organized. Being organized will save you a lot of time and
allow you to allocate and manage your time better. Set up simple systems,
such as document filing.
6. Schedule rewards
You need to treat yourself when you do the right thing. Take a few minutes out
of every hour to take a break and do something you enjoy, like go for a walk or
watch some TV. The break will also allow your brain to relax and be more
productive when you return. However, whatever you do, make sure you don’t
overindulge until you have completed your tasks.
APSI hopes that with these 7 tips, you can improve your time management
skills and get the most out of your time, whether it be studying, playing or
living.
