Learning outcomes
Participants:
1. Students will learn how to recognize common sources and types of fats in usual snacks.
2. Students will learn how to read the Nutrition Facts table to find out how much trans-saturated
and unsaturated fat are in different snacks.
Procedures:
1. Students will be divided into groups. Each group will go around and check the food label posted
alongside walls of the classroom.
2. Using the activity sheet provided, students will record the calorie, total fat, saturated fat,
cholesterol and trans fat of the different food items.
3. Students will fill up the table below and evaluate the products.

3. Take note of the table above, the snack ingredients and additional nutrients present in the 4
different snacks. Which snack would you most likely recommend for the following, and why?
