    COMMUNITY SERVICE
    QUESTION 1: What is a Community service?

    ANSWER1) The term Community service refers to a donated service or activity


    performed by an individual or a group of people for the well being and benefit of their
    community or its institutions. Those whose offers the services are called volunteers and
    those who are compelled to-do so by government or the court or school are not termed
    as volunteers, as they are not doing it out of their own will.

    QUESTION 2: What are the types of Community services?

    ANSWER 2) There are 4 types of Community services, which are as follows;


    i. Direct services: are the services that direct affects the people, animals or a place we
    want to impact. This may include volunteering or cleaning up a park.
    ii. Indirect services: might take the form of fundraising or collections. It is the type of
    service in which you are not in the presence of a person or thing you are impacting.
    iii. Advocacy: is when you speak for or against an issue or a solution. When we use our
    voices, we are being advocates.
    iv. Research: involves finding out new information that informs or demands action. For
    example, it could be a survey or scientific data collection.

    QUESTION 3: What are some examples of Community services?

    ANSWER 3) Some acts that we can do to serve our community are;


    i. Launching a recycling programme or telling people how important it is to keep the
    environment pollution free.
    ii. Conducting a food drive and encouraging people to donate and to be a helping hand
    for those who are starving because of hunger.
    iii. Being a good and caring neighbor and helping those who are in need.
    iv. Donating blood because every two seconds, someone in this world needs blood, by
    hosting a blood drive you or your team can make a real difference in the community.
    v. Doing a community cleanup which will improve the look of your neighborhood,
    sacred places or parks and inspire people to keep the space looking fresh and great.
    vi. Performing acts of random kindness by providing the poor/needy people with clothes
    or being a part of local animal shelter and rescuing them.
    vii. Volunteering and having a rewarding experience that brings people of all ages
    together for a good cause, and getting involved in great organizations or educating the
    uneducated for their betterment and etc.

    QUESTION 4: What are some Community service ideas, you think would help during
    the COVID-19?

    ANSWER 4) Here are some ways to get through the COVID-19 pandemic;
    i. Take basic precautions not just for yourself! but for others. These precautions can help
    to reduce the spread of Coronavirus and will also reduce your risk of getting sick.
    ii. Share accurate and up to date information regarding Coronavirus and spread
    awareness.
    iii. Support the daily-wage workers by providing them with the food, and money which
    can be done by collaborating with any NGO and raising funds for this cause.
    iv. Activate social media awareness campaigns and make those accessible to the
    underprivileged/uneducated sector by contacting the cable-operators of their
    respective areas incase they don't have access to the social media apps.
    v. Providing doctors with the health kits so that they can perform their jobs safely and
    wisely without any fear and helping those hospitals or laboratories which are giving free
    test facilities to the citizens, with donations and funds.
    vi. Provide people with the interesting ideas to spend their time fruitfully in Quarantine
    so that they don't take mental stress and stay healthy and fit mentally as well as
    physically. Also entertain your family and friends while maintaining social distance
    through voice and video calls to make them smile and relief.
