Work Immersion enables learners to become familiar with the workplace, improve their
capabilities and ensures that students obtain various competencies that would have these future
professionals ready for employment. Immersion prepares learners for the real world by training
them how to work in a company or office. Important as it is, acquitting yourself in a professional
manner and showing the proper respect are key to taking home the crown.
“5 minutes early is on time; on time is late; late is unacceptable.” Make it a top priority to
be on time. It shows your commitment to your job. Being late shows a lack of respect for the
time of their clients and their co-workers. It shows that you can’t be relied on. Being late is
inevitable, but doing it habitually will slowly become part of reputation, and you don’t want that.
Dress appropriately. This doesn’t mean you need to have fashion or expensive wardrobe to
impress everyone, this demonstrates that you respect your co-workers, your clients and your job.
Be persistent. If you’re starting out, there may be some expectations that can be tricky and you
need to overcome. You may find it very hard sometimes but it is part of the game. Take it as a
challenge for it will make you better and wiser. Don’t give up. The third thing is, being flexible.
The willingness and ability to respond to changing circumstances readily. Someone who can take
more responsibilities, do different tasks and do more at work. Who is willing to do whatever is
necessary to get the task accomplished. Be sociable. Being social at work is a great opportunity
to know more about the others and develop a healthy environment filled with positivity. It will
make you stay motivated and happy at work. Lastly, observe good manners and right conduct.
Make sure you act accordingly, possess formality, pay careful attention to your office etiquette
and make sure your behaviour is in line with expectations.
Starting out your career, no matter what business you are in, part of your mark will
encompass how you acquit yourself at work. There are more guidelines that you should practice
at work but having respect to your co-workers, clients and yourself is way to winning over.
Respect is shown in all different aspects, and when you start it within yourself, everything goes
and will follow.
