INTRODUCTION
Jaipur has grown as an important tourist and cultural destination and has become a hub for numerous
festivities and events such as internationally appreciated literature festival, design festival and other
M.I.C.E events.
THESIS PROPOSITION
The complex would be a convention and exhibition centre and would provide spaces for public which
are not just functionally driven, but tend to have flexible design typology.
The complex will just not be a multifunctional convention centre, but will be a magnet for various
exhibits and seminar as it would blend these functions with other recreational and public-friendly spaces
for the larger growth of culture and community.
The complex will facilitate a lot of artists of rajasthan, theatre shows, dance and music recitals, gallery.
RESEARCH OUTCOME
The project would propose exhibition halls, convention centre, meeting facilities, banquet halls,
auditorium, hotel. Inspired from IHC, Jawahar kala kendra for designing a contemporary cultural place
that functions as a successful public space for interaction and communication.
SITE
The site is owned by Jaipur development authority sits in the lalkothi region at ‘amrudo ka bagh’
and lies in the heart of the new city.
The site lies infront of the sawai man singh stadium complex having amar jawan jyoti facing the
site and has the administrative hub, the vidhan sabha at the end of the road. The polo grounds,
golf course, rajasthan high court, a heritage hotel and two major malls also fall in a kilometer
radius of the site.
The Jaipur development authority has identitied10 bighas(4.7 hectares) of land for the third
time for the proposed habitat centre. The land is near Akshaya patra, earlier the site was
proposed in the OTS(officer training school), campus. However due to strong opposition from
the officers, the decision was changed.
The facility will be functioning under the administrative control of (NBCC).
