WEEKLY JOURNALS

This is where you think about your FMP learning journey and development.
Don’t simply describe what you did - consider what you have learnt and how this has benefitted
your project. What do you need to improve?

THIS IS JUST GUIDANCE THAT YOU NEED TO ADAPT TO YOUR OWN PROJECT. YOU HAVE CREATED YOUR
OWN PRODUCTION SCHEDULES AND YOUR WEEKLY BLOGS SHOULD REFELCT THAT.

THESE QUESTIONS SHOULD BE ADDRESSED IN THE WEEKS YOU COMPLETED THEM. DO NOT JUST SUBMIT THIS
FORM FILLED IN FOR YOUR WEEKLY BLOGS. THERE SHOULD BE 11 WEEKLY BLOG ENTRIES (INCLUDING
EASTER).

Week six – Planning/filming

PLANNING

What did you learn from your planning This week I learned that the actors just have to arrive at college
this week? because that’s where the recording booth is and it means that
the actors will be there on the day. I also learned the only
recording equipment I needed was all within the recording
booth within the studio at the college, another piece of
recording equipment required is my camera which I can easily
use to record Foley on this is helpful as I can use the radio
booth to make sure that my dialogue is recorded and I can use
my camera for my Foley sounds.

What issues did you encounter and I didn’t encounter any issues this week as I was able to book a
how did you overcome them? free slot in the studio and I have ensured that the actors will be
available

How did you ensure that you are I made sure that I was prepared for filming simply by having
prepared for filming? reliable actors who can record on the chosen day. I also
ensured that I was prepared for filming by owning a decent
camera which has a good microphone which can record
Foley sounds on it with good sound quality. Another thing which
was useful, is having a completed script meaning that my
actors can read their lines when it comes to recording the
dialogue.

How did you ensure that your In terms of equipment lists, I needed to fill out a form which
equipment lists were completed to a would allow me to book the studio which meant that I had to
high standard? fill out a form with a list of equipment and select the studio. The
studio has recording equipment within it, which I will use to
make sure my dialogue is recorded.
How have you ensured your actors Yes, I have ensured that my actors will be available because it
and crew will be available? is during college hours and they are able to record dialogue on
the chosen day

How well have you been able to The location of recording is at college so the only transport
organise locations and transport? necessary is the transport my actors and I would normally use
to get there, for my self and on other actor it’s a case of
arriving by public bus and the other actor would normally get a
lift down. I sent in a booking form in order to record my
dialogue and it was easy as there was a slot available on my
chosen day.

Are you on track for the week? If not, No

how far behind are you?

What work do you need to complete I need to complete a sound table.
