FOCUS OF LESSON: Jump Rope for Heart
STUDENT PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES (SPO):
By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:

Psychomotor: Jump with two feet and land with two feet consistently when demonstrating the
skill throughout the class
(S1.E3.2) MACF 2.2
Cognitive: Identifies two major muscle groups used in jumping landing (S3.E3.2b) MACF 2.6
Affective: Demonstrate personal responsibility throughout the lesson by practicing with minimal
prompting (S4.E1.2) MACF 2.7
Check each objective: Is it specific? Is it achievable? Is it developmentally appropriate?

TEACHER PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES - During the lesson the teacher will:

1. Provide at least 10 positive specific feedback statements throughout the lesson

2. Thoroughly demonstrate each station using a student as a helper

3. Students rotate correctly from station to station

TIME SEQUENCE OF LESSON ORGANIZATION REFLECTIONS

Transition: (0-1 mins.) Students


enter room by walking around the
perimeter of the gym, and gather at
the meeting place

Demonstration will occur: (1-5


mins.)
Teacher will review best ball
bowling from the previous class.
Demonstration using visual:
Teacher will begin by pointing out
the 5 stations to the class. Teacher
will explain jump rope for heart to
the class and then begin to explain
each station.

Station 2: Spot to Spot
A series of 25 hot spots will
be set up

spot to spot

Station 3: Hurdles
4 hurdles will be set up
Students in line form will
jump through the hurdles
Begin by jumping and
landing with 2 feet
Move on to single leg, leaps
and hops
Station 4: Long jump
Students will jump from the
foul line
Broad jump should be used
Students will mark their
distance gained with a hot
spot
No running start will be
allowed
Station 5: Burst the bubble
Students will start by
standing on a matt
They will jump from the
matt to another matt and
land on two feet
The landing matt will be
covered in bubble wrap
Students will exaggerate the
landing with two feet

Transition: (7-8 mins.) Teacher will


have the designated groups move to
a station, one at a time. Teacher
will explain that each group will
have 5 minutes at each station.
Music will be played, and when
music stops, students will place
equipment on ground and move to
next station
