Overview
The students will learn the importance of conversations on online safety and online relationships; while also
learning why certain online relationships are risky, and about how to avoid them. They will be put through certain
scenarios that when they encounter them they should be able to know the difference between those that are of
inappropriate contact, and those that will end up being a positive connection. Its these fundamental skills that they
will learn more about internet safety and that will ultimately help the students learn how to be safe on the internet.

What are some ways that can protect you, when in a situation of an online conversation or relationship?
What are certain laws and consequences that go along with inappropriate relationships online?

Students will create a presentation on the dangers and positive outcomes of online relationships.
Using links to help, the students will create a 3-5 minute PowerPoint presentation.
Students will find one source on the internet about the dangers of an online relationship.
Products will be graded based upon a rubric that the students have been given.
Resources
1. Students will use different search engines such as Google Chrome, Firefox, Etc.
2. Students will be able to use the library so that they can attain more information that they need.
3. Students will also use the Webquest.org resources that they find that will be used as a template.
Instructional Plan
Preparation
Students will have their own experiences with internet searching, the use of Webquest, as well as watching
YouTube videos and PowerPoint. There will be a Pre-Test that I will give in order for the teacher to see where the
student is at. There will be a video shown after the Pre-Test to show the students to show them the basics and
how to get started on their presentation. If need be, there will also be a few different videos and examples that will
be shown if the original video does not give the students ample information. Some students may have problems
with technology and how to get around on the internet to find information to use.
Management
Students will work in the classroom as individuals and in groups when the right circumstances permit groups.
They will be able to work in and out of the classroom (highly suggested) while also not being penalized for being
unable to. their groups will contain 3 to 4 students in each group, while the groups will always be changed as to
broadened the end results of their cooperation.

Differentiation
Students will be able to choose from several different multimedia tools, and their designs on how they want their
presentations done. I will give them the choice to use different templates for the PowerPoint and do face-to-face
discussion.
The use of headphones will be available for those students who are visually impaired
