A great start!
Following the many successes over the
last couple of years with our varied
sporting events, we have a lot to live
up to this year but we made a great
start this week with our excited and
enthusiastic football teams.
This week our Spiritual, Moral, Social and
Cultural focus is:
Debate
Thinking about our Fundamental British
Values, we have been considering what
democracy means and working on our
debating skills, taking other peoples opinions
into account.
BOOKFEST
We thoroughly enjoyed Bookfest last Friday,
the buzz around school was clear from the
moment the children arrived. Our Assembly
was a delight to behold with our staff getting
into role brilliantly and reading some of
Roald Dahls vivid descriptions of his weird
and wonderful characters. Our Coffee
afternoon that followed was a huge success
too. We were just delighted with the
amazing turn out and support from our
families so a massive thank you is extended
to all who supported, donated, baked,
dressed children up, watched movies, ate
cake, drank coffee etc. We are proud to
announce that we have raised over 1300 to
spend on new books for schools which is just
incredible.

FOOTBALL
Y5 &Y6 girls won their tournament on
Monday evening when they played at
Weaverham High School. This was followed
by Y3&Y4 winning against Lostock on
Tuesday. We now wait with baited breath
GOVERNOR VACANCIES
We presently have two vacancies on our
governing body and are looking to recruit. In
this instance we are not looking for parent
governors but other people within our
community. One will be an LA (Local
Authority)governor and the other would be
co-opted. The role of a governor is to act as
a critical friend to the headteacher by
providing advice and support, whilst asking
challenging questions. We are looking for
suitable and willing volunteers with specific
skills in financial, business, buildings and/or
Health and safety. If you know anyone that
may be interested please encourage them to
make contact with school. Please see the
advert attached to this weeks newsletter.
