Identify and mark unsafe or faulty tools for repair according to standard company procedure Tags used for labelling the hand tools used in computer systems servicing. Why is tagging important? Tagging (labelling) is important since it enables the user to know the important information of a particular hand tool. It may consists of the name of the tool, date of purchase, SKU, tool code, tool status and others depending on the companys format. Steps in tagging hand tools: 1. Check if the hand tools are in good condition or not. For out of service hand tools, put the RED tag on them and write the reason/s why they are out of service. Fill up the necessary information found on the RED tag. 2. For hand tools with RED tags, place them in a separate tool box. Be sure that you filled out the information on it. 3. For hand tools that are in good condition, place the GREEN tag. Fill out the necessary information found in the green tag before using it. 4. After using the hand tools with GREEN tags, place them safely inside the tool box. Be sure that you have cleaned them and they are properly placed inside the tool box. 5. Fill out the TOOL Checklist after placing the tools inside the tool box.
