Tigger

Tigger's profile:

Neutered male Approx. 8 months of mid March Littertrained Dewormed In foster care with another kitten (Ziggy, who is also up for adoption). Should either be adopted with Ziggy, or to a home that has another cat for company for him.
About Tigger: Tigger was rescued from a local pound. He started life on the street, so wasn't sure about about the big monkeys called humans when he first came to us. Thanks to his devoted foster parent, he has learned that people aren't so bad. Tigger's Foster Mom Says: "Tigger is a sweetheart and is pretty independent. He has claimed my desk chair and will sleep there all day. He can be counted upon to remind me when its time to be fed! He also likes to play but my other foster kitten, Ziggy, usually takes over; so he might do better in a house where he is the only animal, though he and Ziggy do get along. Tigger is a more mellow cat who does his own thing, but he will still crawl on your lap for a snuggle." Interested in adopting Tigger? Pandora
Pandora's Profile Spayed female Longer-haired Seems to be on the younger side Vocal We don't know how she is with kids, other cats, or dogs as she is the only animal in her foster home.
About Pandora Pandora came to us in February as a stray from a local pound. She was a terrified mess in her cage at the pound, but once out of that environment and back in a home setting, she came right around in the matter of an hour - pounds are no place for princesses! Heavenly Creatures will be covering the cost of her spay, so all she needs is a loving person or family to adopt her. If you have a castle that needs a gorgeous tabby princess to occupy it, Pandora would like you to give us a call! Pandora's Foster Parents Say: "Pandora is a very curious kitty, very vocal and friendly but does tend to hide when people first come in. She loves scratches behind her ears/under her chin.

Pandora

She prefers to have some dry food in with her wet for the crunch. (Figured that out by having both dry and wet out separate and her mostly eating dry but when together ate most of all of it.) She's very speedy, and likes to run up and down the stairs and climb things. A scratching post would be a good idea as she does like scratching sometimes. She is very well litter-trained." URGENT: Sasha needs a foster home. If you have no other pets, and no children, we'd love to hear from you. You can reach us at 739-0077, or [email protected]

Spayed female FIV negative Must be an only cat Approx. 2-4 years

About Sasha Sasha came to us from a local pound with a litter of kittens in tow. We're not sure what her background was before winding up at the pound. Sasha's kittens have been adopted, and now she deserves a home of her own! We've since had Sasha spayed, and tested for Feleuk/FIV (she was negative). Sasha seems to want to be the queen of someone's castle! We've tried her with several other cats, and she's not been very nice to any of them, so we're searching for a home for her where she can be the only kitty. Her previous caretakers say: "Sasha is such a sweet cat and loves to cuddle. She likes lots of attention and will become your best friend -- just don't sneak up on her, she is a little nervous at first and can nip if startled. Don't let that scare you though, she takes a little while to adjust but once she does she becomes very friendly. Sasha is very easy to please. She doesn't care for wet food or treats, she just wants dry food and affection. She seems to like being the only cat in the house and would probably be jealous of any other cats." "Sasha crawls into my lap for cuddles whenever she gets the chance. She loves to be picked up and walked around the house and purrs constantly. Sasha is very active and loves to chase her toy mice, scraps of paper, and bits of string for hours and hours. She also speaks when spoken too and talks back when she is caught doing something she isn't supposed to. She is a sweet, happy little girl that deserves a safe, warm

home where she can play and be cuddled!" Interested in adopting Sasha? If you'd like to meet Sasha, please call us at 739-0077, or email us at [email protected]

Sook
Sook's Profile:

Neutered male Negative for Feleuk/FIV Young (Approx. 1 year -1 1/2 years). Affectionate On the shy side - needs a quiet home.

About Sook: Before coming into our care, Sook lived most of his young life under the deck of an elderly woman who did her best to look after him. She fed him and talked to him every day, and contacted us for

help about him. It was this kind woman who gave Sook his name; he was very affectionate with her, so she thought it fitting. We had Sook shaved because he was so matted when he came to us - living outside had done nothing for his hair! We also had him neutered, and tested (he's negative). Then we found him a quiet foster home with another kind woman who is working on socializing him some more. Sook's Foster Mom Says: "I have another little update on Sook. He is starting to come around nicely-.he now cuddles up on the couch next to me when I'm home or on the loveseat across from me. He will still run and hide when I first come home but once I get in and call to him he comes right out of hiding and lets me pet him." He's getting vocal about feeding hahaha....he knows now when it's about time for food and he goes back and forth to his dish meowing. Loud noises still scare him but he's not as bad as he was...he is still super scared of strangers; he runs and hides and won't come out unless I pick him up...but if i put him on the couch next to a stranger he will stay there if you pet him so that's an improvement too. He is starting to play with the toys I have left around for him and he is starting to use the scratching post. He still likes to be brushed and loves to be petted. He is super gentle, and a little sweetie. He is totally is a little snuggle bunny Interested in adopting Sook? URGENT: Mario needs a foster home!

URGENT: Mario needs a new foster home because his current foster parent is allergic to him. If you can foster Mario, please call us at 739-0077 or e-mail us at [email protected]
Marley's Profile:

Neutered male Young (Approx. 18 months or less) Playful Is in foster care with another cat

About Marley: We recently rescued Marley from a pound; he was brought there as a stray, and wasn't claimed by his owner. He is one in a very long line of unneutered cats that wound up in pounds this year. Poor Marley would have been put down for lack of space had we not gotten involved - we couldn't let that happen! We had Marley neutered, and found him a foster home. Now he is waiting for a purrfect adoptive home - could that be with you? Marley's Foster Mom Says: "Marley is a sweet tabby that has a lot of love to give. He's playful and full of energy, resulting in lots of laughs for whoever is watching him play around. He's affectionate, and loves to snuggle up as close to your face as possible. Despite his size, he is still young at heart and acts very kittenish, which sometimes does result in a scratch or playful bite, but he doesn't do it out of spite, he just wants to play. " Interested in adopting Marley? If you are interested in making Marley a part of your family, please call us at 739-0077, or e-mail us at [email protected]

Chip and Dale

Chip and Dale's Profile: Chip is a spayed female Dale is a neutered male Siblings who were born in the spring of 2013 must be adopted together Both get on well with other cats We charge only ONE adoption fee for 2 cats the fee for pairs is $100

About Chip and Dale Chip and Dale were born outside to a stray mother cat in a wooded area behind some houses in Paradise. They were part of a litter of six that came to us. Owing to the kittens having been born outside, they had not been socialized when they came to us. Thankfully, we managed to find them all foster parents willing to work on socializing them. Their four littermates have found homes, and now it's time for Chip and Dale to get their happy ending! Chip and Dale's Foster Mom Says: "Chip or (Chipper) as I refer to her is a very sweet cat who loves to curl up on your lap, even when you already have a cat on your lap! She loves to play with her cat toys and scratch her post. She likes to hide when someone new comes in but after awhile

Chip and Dale

curiosity gets the best of her. She plays really well with my 3 cats and her and her brother Dale are always hanging out together. Dale has decided he is your 'typical cat'...only wants you when it's meal time! LOL He is full of energy and is always scooting toys through the house and losing them under the couch. He's not much for sitting on your lap but has no problem sleeping curled up in my legs or at the foot of the bed. Both cats love their treats and when I ask "who's been a good kitty today?", they both come running in to the kitchen. These 2 would make a great addition to any home and I would love to see them both be together. They are 2 very sweet babies that would love to have a furever home real soon." Interested in adopting Chip and Dale? If you would like to make these two sweet siblings part of your family, please contact us at 739-0077, or e-mail [email protected]

Bruce
Bruce's Profile: Neutered Feleuk positive - must go to a home where he is the only cat, or a home in which the other cat is also positive. Young adult Gets on well with other cats (up until recently his foster home included another positive cat)
About Bruce: Bruce came to us as a stray from Bay Roberts last year. He was unneutered, so we had that done, and we also had him tested. Unfortunately, Bruce tested positive for Feline Leukaemia. However, he isn't symptomatic - if we didn't tell you he was positive, you'd never know.

Bruce

Bruce's Foster Mom Says: "Bruce is a very loving cat. He purrs when you walk in the room, and loves a good petting. He's a great snuggler, and great

company. He makes himself at home very quickly. Bruce loves to play, and especially enjoys toys with bells. He gets along great with other cats and really seems to enjoy the company. He's a cat full of personality!" Interested in adopting Bruce? If you think Bruce could be the special cat for you, please call us at 739-0077, or e-mail us: [email protected]

Bear
Updated Feb. 1st, 2014
Bear's Profile:

Neutered male Approx. 2-3 years Long-haired Negative for FIV/Feleuk Affectionate

About Bear: Bear came to us from the streets a very frightened, badly matted, unneutered mess. What a difference some time and TLC makes! Since being rescued he has been cleaned up (we had to have him shaved when he first arrived), neutered, and has learned to trust people again. He is ready for that special person or family to choose him as their kitty. Could Bear be the snuggle buddy for you? Bear's Foster Mom Says: "Bear is super cute and cuddly, but still very playful like a kitten. He loves to be picked up like a toddler and stretches his arms out to hug your shoulders. He's affectionate with any of my guests, actually greeting people when they come to the door. Bear will sleep either on his own chair or curled up against my legs, but when it's breakfast time he'll walk right up onto my chest to wake me.

His tummy is a bottomless pit! He loves to be scratched behind the ears and his purr increases in pitch like a parakeet. It's virtually impossible to avoid petting him. Bear should go to a quiet home as he even though he enjoys guests, he much prefers his one-on-one time." Interested in adopting Bear?

Ziggy
Ziggy's Profile:

Approx. 7-8 months as of mid-March Neutered male Littertrained Dewormed In foster care with another kitten, Tigger, who is also available for adoption. He should be adopted either with Ziggy, or to a home that has a cat for company for him.
About Ziggy: Ziggy is yet another in a long line of kittens we've rescued this year from a local pound. Like so many others, it was evident when we got him that he had been born on the street to a homeless mother cat - he knew nothing about people when he came to us. His foster mom has been working with him, and he is learning about all the good things that people have to offer such as cuddles and food! He will likely always be on the timid side with strangers, but will be devoted to whichever lucky person or family chooses him for their own. Could Ziggy be the one for whom you've been waiting? Ziggy's Foster Mom Says: "Ziggy is very energetic and loves to play. He may be very shy at first but as soon as he is in your arms hes purring and very cuddly. Loud noises and strangers can startle him, but he is still approachable if you let him adjust. He gets along great with Tigger and is usually the one who starts playing. At night he sleeps at the end of my bed, but every morning I wake up with him curled up by my head purring." Interested in adopting Ziggy? Peewee's Profile:

Male kitten Dewormed Littertrained Would do well in a home with another cat

Peewee's foster mom says: "Peewee. is doing great! What a change from the terrified little

kitten I got a few weeks ago - he is now brave and noisy, demanding what he wants (food and attention). Peewee constantly craves attention. I think he would do well with other cats (but mine don't like him, so he's still kept separate). He's probably not best suited for a home with small children, but that's because he's a playful kitten so he likes hugging with claws. They would need to be careful around him, especially for the next few months, but after that it would probably fine. He's not a fan of being picked up, and will wriggle until you let him go, but I can pick him up (so can catch him if necessary). I don't know how he will be with other people (all of my friends who usually come over are out of town), but I would think it will take a week or so for him to adjust, maybe less. He's never bitten me, and the claws are playful (he doesn't swipe at me, and hasn't hissed in over a week). He's not a fan of being picked up, and will wriggle until you let him go, but I can pick him up (so can catch him if necessary). I don't know how he will be with other people (all of my friends who usually come over are out of town), but I would think it will take a week or so for him to adjust, maybe less. You or Vivien (or whoever) are welcome to come see him and see how he is with you.

Athena and Zeus

Athena and Zeus' Profile:

Brother and Sister (need to be adopted together) Born in the spring of 2013 Not suitable for a home with a small children (they're a little on the timid side) Both are fixed (spayed/neutered) We only charge one fee for two cats - the adoption fee to adopt this pair is $100.
Athena and Zeus' Story: Athena and Zeus were born outside to a wild mother cat. Fortunately for them, they were born on the property of a caring person who took them in, and had their mother spayed. This caring person socialized them before surrendering them to us. They are now ready for adoption. Are you the "Forever" home for which they've been waiting?

Athena and Zeus' Foster Parents Say: "Their playful antics will keep you entertained for hours. Athena takes a few days to warm up to you, while Zeus warms up to you within hours. They like to cuddle up on your lap while you pat them and will gladly sleep on the foot of your bed. They like to play with each other and anything else they can find that seems like it could be played with (Cords, hairclips, plastic bags). They are very social cats!" Maestro
Maestro's Profile:

Neutered male Born in 2010 Long-haired Needs a quiet home

Maestro's Story: Maestro first came to us as a kitten with his two siblings. They were born outside, and so when they came to us needed to be socialized. All three kittens were adopted from us, and Maestro went to live with a person who lived alone, and had no other pets. Sadly, Maestro was returned to us recently because he had an undiagnosed urinary tract infection. His owner was led to believe

that he was just acting out. We at Heavenly Creatures know that in most cases of a cat going outside the box the problem is often medical; we always rule that our first. We had Maestro's urine tested, and as we suspected, he was found to have a raging urinary tract infection. He has since been treated with antibiotics, and is on special food from the vet. We'd be happy to help pay for his diet for the rest of his life if it meant him having a home. Like most cats who wind up with urinary tract infections, Maestro's was caused by eating dry food; he is now on an allwet food diet. Mozart's Foster Parents Say "Maestro came to us as a very timid cat, but he has warmed up to us and is very friendly. He loves to be petted and is generally very well behaved. He is still skittish around loud sounds and new people but is getting better as time goes on. Maestro loves sitting on window sills and cuddling in beds." He would do best in a quiet home probably without children or other pets. " Interested in adopting Maestro?

About Spud: Spud has had a hard go if it. She was abandoned by her original owner in his apartment, and was so upset that has to be forcibly removed from the apartment (the landlord called the city). She grew up with another cat (Pickles, who is also up for adoption), and they usually got along fine. However, we haven't known her to do well with a lot of other cats. Paddy
Paddy, one of the stars of our 2014 calendar, is still looking for an adoptive home as of March, 2014.

Silver tabby Neutered male FIV + Good with children Must be adopted to a home without other cats

In foster care with a large dog Good with small animals - loves the bunny in his foster home

About Paddy Paddy came to us on the Friday of St. Patrick's Day weekend this year. Our poor boy was on Death's Doorstep - he broke our hearts. He was emaciated, anemic, had earmites, and his paws were all swollen up from a condition known as "Pillow Foot." He also tested positive for FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus). Until a kind man rescued him, he was living (all winter certainly, and likely much longer) in a smoking gazebo. We can't bear to think of how cold and hungry he must have been all that time. But oh what a will to live he had! We were advised to put him down, but he was eating, drinking, walking, and purring up a storm with gratitude, so we had to give him a chance. Our instincts were right. Paddy was not ready to throw in the towel, and now he looks and feels like a different cat! These pictures really don't do him justice; he's quite the striking silver tabby. He has gained all his weight back, his anemia is gone, his earmites are gone, and his paws are back to normal. The FIV can't be reversed, but he is not showing any signs from it/isn't suffering from it. We're not exaggerating when we tell you that he is one of the friendliest cats you'll come across! As soon as you touch him, he is rolling around looking for belly rubs. Paddy's foster mom says: "Paddy is a character! He loves to chase legos, balls and skipping ropes. He is really good with kids. He's so patient. He he even tolerates our dog! He loves to sleep with the kids when they go to bed and LOVES to be rubbed, especially on his belly. He is a very laid-back cat, and is absolutely beautiful. His picture doesn't do him justice. You really have to see him to appreciate his personality - any family would be lucky to have him!" Interested in adopting Paddy? Whoever adopts Paddy will be a special person (or family), and will be getting a very special boy. If you are interested in

Paddy

meeting him, please call us at 739-0077, or e-mail us at [email protected]

URGENT: Merlin needs a FOSTER HOME!

UPDATE: Merlin needs a foster home. If you can shelter our boy, please call us at 739-0077, or e-mail us at [email protected] Our handsome snowy white prince is still looking for his adoptive home! Can your home be his castle? Merlin's Profile:

Neutered male Approx. 2-4 years Tested negative for FIV/Feleuk Likes other cats Has a slight heart murmur (it's 1 on a scale of 1 to 6 - it doesn't require treatment)

About Merlin Merlin came to us in January of this year from a local pound, which had picked him up on the street. He hadn't been claimed, and would have been destroyed if we hadn't taken him. He was a mess when we got him - unneutered, dirty, flearidden, and he had a urinary tract infection. Thank to kind sponsors, Merlin is all cleaned up, neutered, and wanting for nothing but an adoptive home - could he be the kitty magician to steal your heart? Here's what Merlin's foster mom has to say: He has the most beautiful, soft fur I've ever seen. He loves the wet food and has been using the litter box just fine. He doesn't mind being picked up, and as long as its his decision, he'll sit on my lap/curl up on the bed by me. He is usually pretty calm and likes being petted for a while, but he'll certainly let you know when he's ha enough affection. " ***** Please contact us at 739-0077 or [email protected] if you are interested in discussing Merlin.

URGENT: Merlin needs a FOSTER HOME!

Frosty
Frosty is anything but - he is one of the sweetest boys you'll ever meet. If you are looking for an affectionate boy, look no further Frosty has been with us for the better part of a year now through no fault of his own. There must be someone out there with room in their heart and home for this boy. Frosty is wondering: "Why does no one want me? I am a good boy. Will I be chosen soon? Perhaps I'll get a home for Christmas if I shut my eyes, and wish hard enough." Frosty's Profile:

Neutered male FIV positive Approx. 7 years Extremely affectionate

Not suitable for a home with small children

About Frosty: Frosty was a stray who lived outside the home of a kind individual for a while before coming to us. She kept him fed and provided him with an outdoor shelter, but could not take him inside. But now he's out of the cold and in a wonderful foster home awaiting adoption. Frosty is FIV positive, but is not symptomatic - he has many cuddly years ahead of him! As you can see, he is a laid-back dude who doesn't mind being dressed up as long as he is getting attention! He loves to be brushed, and played with. Please call us at 739-0077 or e-mail us at [email protected] if you're interested in learning more about Frosty. Frosty's Foster Mom Says: "A little update on Frosty (AKA Big Sexy). The last picture of him is how he likes to relax on the stairs, I think he's playing Tetris ;) He was pretty nervous for the first few weeks we had him, but he has settled in well. He doesn't run away or do backflips anymore if we come towards him too fast. I've really never met a more cuddly cat! He only wants to be on your lap or in your bed with you. I can pick him up and carry him around the house all day and he would happily stay in your arms - he loves to be picked up and will cuddle you with his head, I've never had a cat before who would stay in your arms as long as he will! He is still doing great, really settled in except for when the vacuum comes out. Then he hides under his blanket, no matter how hot it is! Frosty would be GREAT for an older person who could give him all the cuddles he desires and deserves"

Bella
**ADOPTION PENDING**
Updated Nov. 23rd, 2013 Bella is still available for adoption as of Nov. 23rd, 2013. Her Christmas wish is to be adopted! She recently sent her letter to Santa: Dear Santa, I want a family of my own for Christmas! A family that will lavish me with attention, and think things like "Bella, she is the best cat. I think I'll go snuggle with her." And "Boy, I love that Bella! I think I'll buy her some tuna and a catnip mouse." I want my new family to allow me in the bed, and to watch t.v. with them. Most of all, I just want them to love me forever. Santa, please match me up with an adoptive family. My foster parents are great, but every cat wants a home of their own. Love, Bella P.S. Please bring my foster parents something nice for being so kind to me. And their rabbits - they would like some fresh veggies. Also, please do your best for all the cats who are in cages in shelters and pounds for Christmas. Santa, I am going to do my hardest to leave you some milk, but I don't know if I can trust myself not to drink it! I will do my best! Bella's Profile:

Spayed female Approx. 2-3 years Cuddly Good with the rabbits in her foster home.

About Bella: Shhh, don't wake Bella! She is dreaming of a "Forever Home". We rescued Bella from a local pound. She had been brought in as a stray, and not claimed. She would have been destroyed for lack of a place to go had we not intervened. What a shame that would have been! She is a

Bella

lovely cat who has many years ahead of her. Since coming into Heavenly Creatures' care, Bella has been dewormed, given a preventative flea treatment, and spayed. She is in a loving foster home, but would like a home to call her own. Could your home be the one of which Bella has been dreaming? Bella's Foster Mom Says: "Bella is an incredibly sweet cat who adores company; the minute you get home she's right there with you looking for cuddles. She always wants to be smack on your lap when you're sitting down and in the middle of any action when you aren't (except for vaccuming, she doesn't like that one). She is extremley curious and, after her initial shyness period, has since been spending her time exploring all over the house -but the bed is still her favourite part. She's become very vocal in the past few days as she's become more comfortable, and you can now have entire conversations with her! Also, her "meow" is more of a soft cooing sound, which is pretty adorable. She really is just the biggest sweetie who will gladly cuddle up on your lap for hours! She needs a lot of attention, but she's so sweet about it that you really want to give it to her." Interested in adopting Bella? If you would like to make this sweetheart part of your family, please call us at 739-0077, or e-mail us at [email protected]

Tootsie
Tootsie's Profile:

6 yrears old spayed female FIV negative (tested) good with children

About Tootsie: Tootsie came into the care of Heavenly Creatures when her owner passed away. As you can see, Tootsie is a very pretty girl, but definitely needs to lose some weight. She's had bloodwork to rule out any underlying medical condition that would cause her to be obese, but all is well - she's just been overfed! And she tested negative for FIV, another bonus! We'd like her to go to a home where she will continue on a diet of all wet or raw food, which will help her to attain a healthier weight. She's very good with children, so a home with kids would be just fine. Tootsie's foster parents say: "Here's a little update about Tootsie. She is still settling in, but really starting to show us exactly how big of a sook she really is! Tootsie sleeps on the foot of our bed every night. She and Hannah (our 7 year old) get along very well. She still runs and hides when Eva (our 16 month old) runs after her. But at the same time, Tootsie is very gentle with Eva. We've even found Eva using Tootsie as a pillow! I think Tootsie is getting much more exercise living with us than she is used to, so hopefully this will help her lose some weight! This picture below isn't the best quality, but she sure is pretty!"

Stella
Stella's Profile: Spayed female Six years (Born on Valentine's Day 2008) Declawed Good with children Would do best as an only cat or with another laidback cat
About Stella

Stella was an only fur child for most of her life. She joined her family when she was a kitten, and enjoyed being queen of the castle. She also enjoyed watching over the human child in the home; she was fantastic with her family's little girl. Then in the span of a year, two new cats joined the family, and Stella's world was turned upside down. We're not sure if there was conflict with between her and the other cats, or if she just didn't like sharing her home with the newcomers. Stella began peeing outside the box to show her upset. When we got the call about Stella, she was at a vet clinic about to be destroyed - what an absolute shame that would have been. We said we'd take Stella and give her a second

chance; we're well used to helping cats with litterboxes issues, and knew we could turn things around for Stella. Since Stella has been in our care, she hasn't t had so much as one accident. She's been staying at our office with cats who don't bother her, and enjoys meeting all the visitors who come to HC. She can often be seen getting up on her hind legs, and greeting someone with a wave of her two front paws. She's such a social, cuddly girl that we've thought about keeping her as our office mascot. However, we feel that she deserves a real home of her own. We want to see her go to a home that has more than one person in it, as she's such an outgoing girl. We don't want to see her left alone for long hours. We also don't want to see her gain back the weight we've helped her lose. Stella was obese when she came to us, which we attribute to the dry food she was fed before we got her - dry food causes a lot of cats to pack on the pounds. We've taken Stella off the dry food, and put her on a diet of all wet; she has since lost a considerable amount of weight, but still has a ways to go. If you're looking for a truly loveable cat, look no further! Stella wins the hearts of all whom she meets. Interested in making sweet Stella a part of your family? URGENT: Smokey needs a foster home!

Smokey's Profile:
URGENT: Smokey needs a foster home! If you have no other pets, we'd love to hear from you. Please call us at 739-0077 or e-mail us at [email protected]

Spayed female 8 years old (born in Dec/2005) Not suitable for a home with other cats - used to being an only pet Not suitable for a home with small children
About Smokey Smokey was adopted from us when she was a baby kitten eight years ago. Sadly, she had to be returned recently owing to a change in her family's circumstances. Smokey was the only pet in her home for most of her life, excepting when her family briefly had a rambunctious dog Smokey hid a lot when the dog was living with them Smokey is a sweet girl on her own terms. She will come to you when she wants affectionate, and has no qualms about telling you when she has had enough. Like some female cats, she can be a bit of a diva! Smokey has been sad, angry, and confused since losing her family. She needs a quiet, cat-experienced person who can give her some time, space, and love while she gets over her loss and re-adjusts. Interested in adopting or fostering Smokey? If you're interested in Smokey, please call us at 739-0077, or e-mail us at [email protected]

URGENT: Porter needs a foster home!

Porter's Profile: Neutered male Approx. 8-9 months Very timid - needs an understanding, patient home Gets along well with other cats Needs feline company - either needs to go to a home that has another cat for company for him (or with his brother, Angus), who is also up for adoption).
About Porter Porter (and his brother Angus) came to us from a pound as older kittens just before Christmas. They were strays who had been living on the streets, and it was obvious they had been born outside - they were terrified of people. They've been in foster care since, and their foster parents have been working on socializing them. Progress has been made, but Porter is still very much on the timid side. His new foster or adoptive home needs to be willing to work on continuing the socialization process.

Spartacus
Spartacus' Profile: Neutered male FIV positive (This means he must go to a home where he is the only cat, or to a home with another positive cat). Approx. 2-4 years
About Spartacus Spartacus came to us as an unneutered stray from St. John's. Lucky for him, the doorstep he picked to hang around belonged to two cat lovers who provided him food and other essentials until we had room to take him. Since coming to us, Spartacus has been neutered, dewormed, and tested. He tested positive for FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus). FIV is not a death sentence. If you didn't know that Spartacus had FIV, you'd never guess. He's on no medication (just good food all wet), and looks the picture of health.

Spartacus' Foster Mom Says: It's apparent that Spartacus has had a rough life on the streets, so its easy to understand that he gets startled by loud noises or fast movements and his first reaction is to hiss or growl. Once he knows the coast is clear, he calms down and will happily come onto your lap, sleep, and purr LOUD. Like putty in your hands! Overall, Spartacus is very quiet and isn't much for talking. He will definitely remind you when its time to be fed but only starts to remind you after you've already gotten up. Otherwise, you don't hear anything (other than his purrs) until supper time. He has adjusted quite quickly to life in the house and loves to cuddle with you at night when you go to bed. He isn't very comfortable around dogs and I think small children would probably scare him. Otherwise, he is a very sweet boy that needs a home where he will receive a lot of love." Interested in adopting Spartacus? Heidi
Posted February 18th, 2014
Heidi's Profile:

Approximately 9 months old Spayed female Gets along well with most other cats

About Heidi: This petite calico girl was abandoned at an apartment building in August, 2013. A kind woman took her in, but can't keep her owing to already having several cats of her own, one of whom doesn't like Heidi. Heidi recently had her spay surgery, and is recovering nicely. Heidi needs a new foster home (or better still, a forever home!), as one of cats in the home is giving her a rough time - she just

doesn't want to be friends! Despite this bit of "bullying", Heidi is very forgiving, and continues to get along with her other foster siblings! Heidi's Rescuer Says: "Heidi has been with me for several months, and is no trouble at all. I'd love to keep her, but one of my older cats isn't tolerating her, so I have to keep them separated. Heidi is fine with my other cats, and seems to like having company. I don't know how she is with children or dogs, but she'd probably be fine, provided there's a proper introduction and supervision. She's litter-trained, of course, and eats mostly tinned food - loves her treats as well!"

Tessa
Tessa's Profile: Spayed female Approx. 2-4 years Would probably do best as an only cat Playful Vocal

Tessa's foster mom says: "Tessa has an amazing little voice. She is VERY vocal with her meows and when she's happy she has quite a purr. As soon as one of us comes home she is glued to your ankles. She follows you everywhere! She loves to be tickled and will not stop meowing until you give her fuss and even then she still meows! She also lets you know she wants fuss by doing the most adorable little hop around you. She basically sits on her back two feet and tries to reach your hand for you to pet her which

turns into the cutest hop. When you stop petting her and start to walk away if she's not ready for you to stop she lets you know by trying to grab your ankle with her paws (this is a recent habit, that seems to be sticking and it is very cute!) While Tessa is a very affectionate cat and likes a lot of attention and fuss, she does not sit on your lap, although she will sit next to you, and you cannot pick her up. Tessa loves to play with her toys! Particularly she enjoys chasing a mouse on a string around the house. She enjoys drinking from the bath tub faucet and playing with the water as it pours out. She would also like to drink from the toilet, but she's not allowed to do this, although she's been caught trying! She sometimes enjoys sleeping on the bed, and she loves to play with your feet under the blankets. She has the most adorable fluffy tail which reminds me of a little skunk shuffling around!" Bella
**ADOPTED**
Bella's Profile:

Spayed female Born in June of 2013 FIV/Feleuk negative Good with other cats Good with dogs Must go to a home that has another animal as company for her.
About Bella: Bella (formerly Sabrina) came to us last summer as a sick, malnourished kitten. She and her brother Felix had just been rescued from a cat colony in Bay Roberts. Sadly, Felix was too far gone to make it. She is very petite - she looks less than half her age. She is one of those animals that will always look like baby. We thought Bella's original foster parents were going to be adopting her, which is why she is still with us. That fell through when the couple split up, so Bella is in a new foster home, and up for adoption. Bella's Foster Mom Says: "Bella is a beautiful young cat who is full of energy and love.

Bella

She is very sweet and loves to be cuddled. She enjoys having someone or some animal to play with all day long. Bella would be perfect in a home with another animal. She is looking for her forever home!" Interested in adopting beautiful Bella? If you are interested in adopting Bella, please call us at 7390077 or e-mail us: [email protected]

Thomas
Thomas' Profile:

Neutered male FIV Negative Approx. 1-2 yrs or less Must go to a home with another cat.

About Thomas: We saved Thomas' life just in the nick of time. He was at a vet clinic to be destroyed when we heard of his plight at the last minute. Thomas was a homeless cat who had been on the streets for some time. Thomas was hanging around a property in Paradise. The person living in the home was feeding him, and requested that the town of Paradise bring them a live trap with which to catch him. They got a surprise when they checked the trap: Thomas had been caught, but something else had caught him first - he had a rabbit snare around his neck! Thankfully, it was around his neck, but not digging into the skin. We were able to cut it off him without hurting him. We had him neutered, tested for FIV/Feleuk (he was negative), and then got him a foster home that could work on socializing him. Thomas' foster mom says: "Thomas is a great cat. He is a fluffy boy and he knows it! He is still learning to trust people and it may take a bit for him to warm up. Once he warms up, you can get him on your lap and he starts purring almost immedately. He will even roll on his back for some belly rubs! He loves his cheeks and chin rubbed. Thomas loves to cuddle with our cats, so it would be good if he went to a furever home with another furbaby; we haven't had him around any dogs. He loves to play. He plays with all the toys that we have in the house but he also loves to play with socks!

Thomas has had a rough start and its taken him a while to warm up to the idea of new people. He has come such a long way since he came to our house. He loves to sleep in his kennel. We put a blanket in with him so he is warm. If he gets scared or lonely he starts to meow. I would recommend that he wouldn't go to a home with small children. He would pair well with someone (or people) that will let him do his own thing and come to you on his own." Interested in adopting Thomas? If you are interested in giving our sweet, brave boy an adoptive home, please call us at 739-0077, or e-mail us at [email protected]

Luna
**ADOPTION PENDING**
Luna's Profile:

Female (HC will have her spayed in February) Approx. 5-6 months FIV negative Good with other cats - must go to a home with another cat. Can be on the timid side, so not suitable for a home with small kids.
About Luna Luna was born on the streets, so was very timid when she came to us last fall. Her foster parents have been working on socializing her, and have done a great job. She will likely always be on the timid side around loud people and strangers, though, so needs something of a quiet home. If you have a lower-key household, and another cat for company for her, Luna would love for you to call us to arrange to meet her!

Luna's Foster Mom Says: "Luna is doing very well. She has made a tremendous improvement as far as social skills go - when she first came to us, she was very, very shy and hardly made a peep. Now she is a chatterbox and quite a lovely kitty to have for company. She is hilarious actually. I've really enjoyed having her here and I love her meow, it is so melodic. Luna is a very special, sweet, happy kitty who likes to just hang out with you (she follows me everywhere). She loves company, chasing our resident cat and likes to sleep at the foot of the bed in her own little spot until the crack of dawn when she is ready to start her day. In the afternoons she naps in the chair and later finds hiding spots and waits for you to find her. This princess is very playful, and a bit of a monkey! Luna loves her treats or roast chicken, so I am sure to give her some every now and then. Often she will hide under her blanket on top of her pillow, and dream away. I've heard her snore, sounds so funny!" Interested in adopting Luna? Checkers
Posted on Feb. 1st, 2014
Checkers' Profile:

Neutered male FIV positive - must go to a home with no other cats, or where the other cat is also positive Approx. 3-5 yrs Cuddly
About Checkers: Poor Checkers had a hard life up until recently. He was reportedly abandoned by his owners. We're told they didn't move, but just threw him out of the house when they got a new puppy. As a result, Checkers was on the street for at least a year, if not two - he was the saddest-looking fellow wandering the streets 24/7, frequenting the doorsteps of people he knew would feed him. Some people were kind to him, and others cruelly threw things including rocks - at him to get him away from their doors. Thankfully, one of the doorsteps he regularly visited belongs to one of our supporters - they caught him and called us. Owing to the fact that Checkers was an unneutered male, he was getting into a lot of fights with other intact males. This is no doubt how he caught FIV FIV is not contagious to people, dogs, or any other species but cats. It is not easily transmitted, and cats can carry it for years sometimes their entire lives - without ever becoming sick from it. Checkers has since been neutered, and is symptom-free.

Checkers

Checkers' Foster Mother Says: "Checkers is a mild-mannered cat who took to the indoor life again pretty well for a furry creature who was outside for years on the streets. Despite living the life he has, he still has love in his little heart for humans. He's a bit shy at first, but once he knows he's safe he's just a big purr monster who loves cuddles and looks for them when

you come home from work. Checkers is such a loving little cat. He has the softest little meow that will melt your heart that you will want to give him his furrever home once again, and show him what love means." Interested in adopting Checkers? Timmy
Posted on Jan. 22nd, 2014 Timmy's Profile: Neutered male FIV + Approx. 2-4 years Friendly and playful

Timmy's Foster Mom Says:

"Timmy is a great cat. He's so friendly and he runs to greet you at the door when you get home. All he wants is some attention so he's a really nice friend to have around the house! He loves to play, either by himself or with someone. He has a hilarious game where he chases his tail like a dog. He also loves to play with balls. Whenever there are guests, he likes to be part of the crowd. He is relaxed and easy-going, even in a larger group of people. He is quite vocal when he wants attention and loves to cuddle. URGENT: Squeaks and Duffy need a foster home!

Updated April 9th
URGENT: Squeaks and Duffy need a foster home! Squeaks and Duffy's current foster parent is no longer in the position to care for them, so we need to make new arrangements. If you are interested in fostering our lovely boys, please call us at 739-0077, or e-mail [email protected] Squeak's and Duffy's Profile: :

Brothers (must be adopted together). Adoption fee is $100 for both. Neutered males Squeaks is black and white and Duffy is the tabby. Born in the spring of 2013 Very sweet and playful
Squeaks and Duffy's Foster Mom Says: "These darling boys love playing, cuddling, being cozy and napping, birdwatching, and having fun getting your attention! You may catch them play-wrestling with each other once in a while, being the brothers that they are, but with no hard feelings - they'll then turn around and give each other kisses! They both aren't a fan of getting their tummies rubbed, but they love being petted and having their ears scratched :) They both can be a bit mischievous by times but just because they're young and like to be active, and they are just as much sweet and content to be loved and enjoying a cozy home :) They have a very unique bond and are both special in their own ways. They are all-around great cats and will be your friends forever! Squeaks and Duffy Say: Squeaks says: "I may not be as cuddly and affectionate as my brother but I am still super sociable and friendly and love to have fun. I also enjoy quiet and peaceful time while my brother and I are not playing. Also, I stay out of more trouble than he does ;) " Duffy says: "I may be shy at first, but once I get to know you and your house I will be much more open and adventurous! I like playing and finding new activities...like maybe investigating

inside your cupboards ;) I also enjoy having fun with my brother and naps and lots of snuggles too :)" Interested in adopting our boys? If you would like to make these two darlings a purrmanent part of your family, please call us at 739-0077 or e-mail [email protected]

URGENT: Donations needed for Charlie!

Updated March 27th CHARLIE'S STORY Charlie, a Heavenly Creatures' foster cat has been hospitalized for two and a half months now. His bill is climbing daily. We have over 100 other animals to care for, so we're appealing to the public for help with his large bill. He and his brother, Joey, are young cats (less than a year old), who were born in foster care last year to a pregnant cat we rescued. They were adopted together when they were kittens, but had to be returned recently owing to a a health issue with a family member that resulted in an unexpected move.

URGENT: Donations needed for

Charlie! After their return, they were placed in foster care, but had to be removed after a week, and hospitalized because of severe diarrhea. Joey was hospitalized tor a while, too, but is now fine and back in a foster home. They brothers are less than a year old, but poor Charlie looks like an old, skinny cat because of whatever is going on with him. . More than two months, and a lot of tests and medication later, Charlie has finally been diagnosed (we got the diagnosis at the end of March) with Small Intestine Dysbiosis. This means that the bad bacteria in his colon has overtaken his good bacteria. He is now on a treatment plan, and we hope that he'll be ready to leave the clinic in the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, we need to raise money for his vet care. The combined vet bill for his and his brother's hospitalizations is now around $5000, so we're reaching out for help. HOW TO HELP CHARLIE

Sooty
Updated Feb. 21st, 2014 Sooty's Profile: Neutered male Good with dogs Tested negative for FIV and Feleuk Approx. 2-3 years May be good for a home with older children

About Sooty: We rescued Sooty from a pound; he was a stray who was not claimed by his owners - he would have been destroyed for space had HC not come to his rescue. Sooty was in bad shape when he came to us; his entire coat was matted right to the skin, and he has a lot of bruising consequentially. He also wasn't neutered. Heavenly Creatures had Sooty neutered, shaved, and tested for Feleuk, and FIV (he was negative). Sooty's Foster Mom says: "Sooty has become a lazy, fat cat. His favorite hangouts of choice lately have been the pizza box on our kitchen that we haven't had the heart to throw away because his butt groove is in the cover, as well as the shoe bench in our porch. His usual choice is still the back of the couch so he can stare out the window. It's crazy that no one has come forward for him. He's so loveable for a cat (Unless you touch his belly - he really hates that!). ,Sooty is purring next to me now and is looking at the screen as I type this. He is a sweet cat who loves to play but also loves to lounge and have his comfort.

Sooty

He is pretty awesome and we love having him. His "cattitude" fits right in with us. If he wants to play he does not want to cuddle, but he really enjoys cuddling when he is in the mood for it (he LOVES having the patch under his chin scratched). We have a little scratching post that he loves to play with. He also has a toy mouse that squeaks as he smacks it around. It is another experience just watching him play! We also have a dog, however they are indifferent to each other.

I don't know how Sooty would react if the dog was one to go after him, but he seems to get along with the dog great. One thing about Sooty is he doesn't mind being brushed, however his fur can get a little matted and he can get feisty if the comb comes near the knots. But we all know how it feels when someone else is brushing our hair and hits a knot. Sooty is an amazing fit for a young couple like my boyfriend and me. Sooty probably would not be suitable for a family with small children because he can play rough, but he has gotten along with my 11 year old nephew when he has visited. I hope he gets the opportunity to touch the life of a family like he has touched ours. He chooses to drink out of the dog bowl rather than use his own. We think it's because it's too small and he can't play with the water - Sooty has quite the fascination with water! When he gets a drink he has to have his front feet in the bowl as well. When he is not getting a drink, he loves to splash water around. This morning he was in the TOILET! He doesnt mind if you flush it either. The more swirling water the better. Sooty would make a great addition to any family because he is a great cat that will keep you entertained and give you lots of love." ***** Please contact us at 739-0077 or [email protected] if you would like to foster or adopt Sooty. If you would like to sponsor Sooty to help him on his road to a second chance, please click below, or visit our donate page. Every dollar counts.

Charlie
Charlie's Profile:

Neutered male Approx. 5-6 years old Affectionate and playful A little chatterbox!

About Charlie: Charlie came to us in December, 2010, as an already-neutered stray. We thought he'd be claimed, but no one ever contacted us about him. He seems to be a slightly older cat, but we're not sure of his exact age. He has lots of energy, so he can't be too old. Updated Nov. 7, 2012 Here are some new pictures of Charlie, who's still wondering why he hasn't found his forever home yet. He's a sweet boy, a real "people cat", and a great companion. Much as he loves his foster mom, Charlie would be so happy to be adopted - what a wonderful Christmas present that would be! Please contact us if you'd like adopt chatty Charlie. Updated July 30, 2012 Here's the latest from Charlie's foster mom: Charlie is still doing well here at his foster home. He's a cat with so much personality! He loves getting scratches on his back near his tail, on his face and under his front legs. Charlie loves to jump up on to the bed whenever it is getting made, he likes to prowl around under covers. Charlie loves attention from people and usually announces to everyone in the room that he's there by meowing. He is loving the summer weather we're having and spends a lot of time sitting in windows. He's a great companion who will follow you around the house wherever you go, even the bathroom! Charlie would be a great pet for anyone who likes cats that like to play. Purrsonality plus, handsome, and sweet - what more could anyone want in a cat? So, we can't understand why no one has chosen Charlie for their forever cat. If you're looking for a wonderful companion, why not consider this boy? You won't be sorry! If you'd like to meet Charlie, please contact us at 7390077 or [email protected] Updated April 8, 2012 This sweet boy is patiently waiting for his forever home. His foster mom sends this update and a couple of new pictures (last 2): Charlie is still doing well in his foster home! He is definitely not a picky eater. He loves when supper time comes each day and

Charlie

meows for his wet food (his favourite). Charlie has not been around other animals before, so I am not sure how he would do in a home with cats or dogs, but he is not timid around new people. He likes to be the centre of attention, is friendly and affectionate, and also very playful. He loves a good scratch behind the ears and will meow to let you know when he wants to attention and affection from you. He has so much personality and is a lot of fun to have around! Updated October 27th, 2011 Chatty Charlie continues to do well in his foster home. He's a friendly boy who's affectionate, trusting, and forgiving - he doesn't much like getting his nails trimmed, but doesn't hold a grudge, so when that's finished, he's quite happy to rub up against you again! Charlie would love to have a permanent home, so if you're looking for a happy and loving companion, maybe you should meet Charlie! Charlie's foster mom sent us this update: Charlie is a wonderful cat! He has the softest fur of any cat that I know. He is more of a playful cat than a cuddly one, although he is very affectionate.Charlie is always looking for attention, scratches or a rub under the chin. He is a chatterbox and always greets people with a meow, and he is a cat full of personality. Charlie loves sitting in my bedroom window, watching the world go by. ***** Please contact us at 739-0077 or [email protected] if you would like to adopt Charlie. Ezzie
Updated Oct.8th, 2013 Our little special needs darling has been waiting a long time for a home. Isn't there a caring soul who can offer her a place in their heart and home? Ezzie's Profile:

Spayed female Approx. 2 and a half years old Calico Good with other cats and with dogs Special needs - mostly blind and deaf

About Ezzie: Esmeralda (aka Ezzie) came to us on an Easter Sunday. We gave her the name Esmeralda because we wanted to call her something that stood out, and because the first three letters of her name acronym into Easter Sunday Miracle. Ezzie is special needs: she's at least partially blind, and partially deaf. This doesn't seem to slow her down any, though! Ezzie is a very sweet little kitten who loves to cuddle, and who chirps like a bird. She is now about eleven months old, and is looking for a purrfect home who will treasure her like the little calico gem she is. Ezzie's foster mom sent us this update: "Little Ezzie isn't so little anymore! She has grown into a big funny cat, but still has a kitten's face. She is very loving and enjoys cuddling, and lets out little chirps when she knows you are around, but can't get to you.

Ezzie

Ezzie doesn't seem to realize she is blind, and is constantly playing and exploring. She loves to hang out in sinks and bathtubs, and is always trying to play tricks on my other cat. She is also used to dogs, and plays well with them. She is also a bit of a bad boots and will chase the broom when I'm trying to sweep, and the scoop when I'm cleaning the litter box. She also thinks the toilet and dog's water dish are her own personal kiddie pools. She is about 90% litter trained now, and uses a brand of litter called Kitten Attract. (She always does no.1 in the litter box, but

sometimes misses when it comes to no.2) This is common for blind kittens and will take some adjustments (multiple litter boxes, confined space) and patience until she gets the hang of it." " ***** Please contact us at 739-0077 or [email protected] if you would like to adopt Ezzie. If you would like to sponsor Ezzie to help her on her road to a second chance, please click below, or visit our donate page. Every dollar counts.

About Simon: Say hello to Simon! Simon is a sweet, neutered male cat who looking for his forever home - could that be with you? Simon's foster mom sent us this update: Simon is a lovely cat! He's a big fella with a big heart. He is such a good companion, and for the most part is satisfied just sleeping the days away in his favourite chair. Even though he's not a kitten anymore, he does have a silly streak, especially first thing in the morning and in the evenings. He has bursts of energy and playfulness that make me laugh, because it's so out of character from his usual post of just

watching the world go by. Simon is an indoor cat, but loves to watch things going on outside. He is definitely a lap cat, and loves a good snuggle and an ear scratch. He's so affectionate and also very vocal - but he has a tiny little mew for such a solidly built critter! Most of all, Simon just loves to love: he's always waiting at the door for me when I get home and sleeps every night at the foot of the bed, only getting up when I do. Unfortunately, I'm not in the position to adopt right now, but he'd make such a lovely addition to any cat-lover's life! Simon's foster mom says: "Simon is a wonderful companion with not a mean bone in his body - does not scratch or bite. He is friendly, cuddly and gets along well with children. He loves to sleep at the foot of the bed. He is an indoor cat that likes to be where people are, quietly sitting and watching. Simon is a very laid back cat and loves a good cuddle. It's not unusual to find him sleeping in his favorite chair or on top of the piano looking out the window! All he really needs is a good rub behind the ears every now and then. He is a big, solid cat with a healthy coat of grey and white fur and would be an excellent companion for pretty much anybody, from seniors to young families." ***** Please contact us at 739-0077 or [email protected] if you would like to adopt Simon.
