e-WOOF is a bi-monthly
e-newsletter produced by a small group of Wyoming dog rescuers in an effort to highlight shelter dogs in critical need of help.
URGENT - The Dog and Cat Shelter, Inc., Sheridan, WY Contact: 307-674-7694 or Cel at [email protected] FAITH is a German Shepherd, 4 years old. She is a small, beautiful
bicolor GSD from American show lines. She was adopted out about two years ago but had to return due to her owners mental health issues. We adopted her again but something happened and she returned to us traumatized and a nervous wreck. Faith is a very nice, sweet, quiet dog who is good on a leash and really enjoys running and playing with toys. She is extremely stressed by all the noise here and doesnt like being kenneled. She is doing well in a foster home but can only stay there another couple of weeks. She would be best in a quiet home with people home most of the time and we must get her out of the Sheridan area. ____________
dogs that face euthanasia within days unless they are rescued, fostered, or adopted. Transport can be arranged, in most cases, to approved adoptive or foster homes or rescue organizations. Please help us! These are good, healthy, happy, loving dogs that are out of luck and out of time. We urge you to crosspost to e-mail lists and Web groups, forward to friends, send to co-workers, and share with family. We hope our efforts, combined with yours, will save many lives.

Tristan lacks confidence in new situations but he is used to being loved and cared for and it shows in his relationships with people he knows. He loves other dogs, is getting pretty good with cats, and knows several commands. Tristan should live in an adult only home.

dent. Morgan is also slow to warm up to new people but treats and belly rubs certainly help! She takes her cues from other dogs, so shed do best in a home with another dog who is confident and well socialized. Morgan is reliable in the house unsupervised but cannot be left alone outside. Shell need a 6-foot fence for playtime and potty breaks. Kids more than 10 years old and other dogs would be great for her.

Black Dog Animal Rescue -- Cheyenne, WY Contact: 307-214-6600 or [email protected] GRACIE is a beautiful red purebred female Dachshund. She is
estimated to be 6 years old and came to us after repeated stays at the shelter in Casper. Gracie cannot live in a home with other animals or children. But she is very sweet and loyal to adult humans. She is a velcro dog and falls in love quickly. She likes to sleep with her person in bed, preferably under the covers. Gracie loves treats and food and is a little chunky as a result. She is struggling with her potty training and will need further instruction upon adoption. Unfortunately, because of her preference for being a single pet, we have exhausted our foster home options for her. As a result, she is living in boarding where she can be guaranteed a space to herself. This is not an ideal situation for a little dog who loves her people, and the cost of the boarding will continue to mount the longer she stays. We are hoping that someone out there knows of an adult only home looking for a beautiful, and friendly little dog who can live as an only pet. ____________

Time is of the essence for helping the dogs featured in the e-WOOF newsletters. Please contact the name/numbers for each dog before contacting eWOOF. In most cases, time is limited for the dogs featured in our newsletters--with that in mind, we try to get the word out to as many contacts as we can using this publication. Work on behalf of the animals for finding them homes and/ or rescues comes from many, many sources and is an ONGOING effort dealt with a sense of urgency. In some cases there may be times when a sudden adoption and/or rescue comes through at the exact time our newsletter is issued. This is an unforeseen circumstance on our part--while we certainly understand the crossover may cause frustrations for you as the prospective adopter of an animal we hope you join us in rejoicing for an animal being saved. We appreciate and thank you for your continued support FOR THE

Park County Animal Shelter -- Cody, WY Contact: 307-587-5110 or [email protected] DRACO is a 1 year old male Border Collie mix. He is very sweet with people of all ages, and he is extremely smart. He is well behaved and listens very well to commands. He gets along fine with cats - Draco just doesnt like other dogs. He is another one of our favorite office dogs, because he loves nothing more than to lay at your feet while you work. He is very calm when he is inside. Draco would be a great dog for any family with a single dog household! HONEY is as sweet as her name! This lovely girl came to us as
a stray. She is a 4 year old Mastiff mix, and she loves to play! She enjoys going for walks and is crazy about playing with stuffed animals. She likes to play tug-of-war, and would be a great companion for an older child who would play with her. Her enthusiasm might be a little overwhelming for younger children. She would also be best in a home without cats. Honey gets along with some dogs, so it would be advised that the dogs meet prior to her adoption. Honey is a little bit weary of men at first, but is pretty quick to warm up to them.

JACKIE is a 6 month old Shepherd mix. This sweet girl has boundless energy and just wants to play! She loves to play tug-ofwar and loves to go for walks. She would be great in a home without cats, with an active family. Jackie spent about a month in a foster home to learn some manners as a puppy. This is what her foster mom said about her: I fostered Jackie for three weeks, during which time she was crate trained, temperment tested with other dogs and a cat, and potty trained. She does a great job in her crate at night and when Im at work -- no accidents in the crate. She is very playful and loves cuddling; she has done well with every dog and person shes met, although she may be too playful for an older/infirm dog or a house with very young children. Jackie is perhaps too interested in cats, and she would need careful introductions to a home with a cat. Provided that she is put outside

frequently she is potty trained, but not yet at the stage where she can put herself outside when she needs to potty. She does a great job walking out in the woods with my dog pack, but she needs leash training. She also needs continued training not to jump on people in her excitement. She is VERY sweet and loving, and she often looked to me for direction, even if she didnt know what I was saying. I believe that she will bond very strongly with her forever home. ____________
