Ata Marie Koutou, Today I have one big request of help to ask of you. Helpers for our Waiouru Kids Triathlon - Friday 31st May. We will need help with directing children, putting up and taking down the registration tent, marshals, tail end charlies, extra life guards and packing up at the end of the day. Please let me know if I can put your name down. We will have a helpers meeting on Thursday night in the school staffroom at 5pm so that I can brief you and give out job portfolios to save a rush in the morning. Registrations will start from 9am Friday morning. I will be marking out the course Thursday afternoon (meet 1pm at the pools if you wish to help), and hopefully have most gear set up prior to race day. Ed has kindly lent us his quad bike, but if you have one and are free we would appreciate another. While this is not a compulsory event, we would strongly encourage all of our children to participate. It is all about participation and joining in. A notice will come home today with more details for your kids as participants. I have tried to keep outside school numbers low so that we can use this first event as a set up trial for next year. In 2014 I hope to have teams, competitive sections, perhaps a pre-school section and by popular demand, a parents race, as well as holding it much earlier in the year. Unfortunately my lame duck leg prevented me from organising this event last term. Never mind we will move on and have an amazing day next Friday. Thanks again everyone have a great weekend and best of luck for Saturday sport.
