IWB on how to open on what they are about to learn in the days’ lesson. Also this

Word program computers at home. Responses will be collected orally and
this would help me identify pupils who still can’t recall the
process of opening and closing the Paint program.

Content: (20 minutes)

Pupils will be showed the slideshow on Paint program tools. I

shall show them one by one of the icons in Paint tools and
their respective functions. This will be repeated for at least
three times in order to help out the slower ones to grasp the
ideas and be familiar with it. Then I will get the pupils
through random selection, to try out the icons on Paint tool.
This will help arouse their interest in familiarizing with the
tools and one way of showing them what impact does it have
on the screen when each icon is used.

Conclusion & Closure: (3 minutes)

I shall distribute the notes to each pupil and finally get them
to stand up and greet before they go out from the lab.

using IWB and see how they can multiply 4 by 3
digit numbers. Before moving further, I shall
review the same techniques using the 2 digit
multiplication that they have done as a recap. I
shall then move on to show the same way of
working for the 4 by 3 digit multiplication.
Teacher will show the traditional method of
calculating out the working on the IWB. Next show
the alternative method of working out the
multiplication. Get the pupils to grasp the
understanding of both methods.

Practical: (40 minutes)

Pupils will be selected randomly (half a class
quantity), to try out on the IWB so that teacher
can see how they really understood what have
been explained earlier.

Pupils will be asked to sit at their respective desk

and they will be given 2 set of written exercises
for them to try out the new Gelosia method and
remind them that they can still use the traditional
method to recheck their answers. The tasks will
be done individually. For those who had finished,
they can proceed to the interactive games
provided on:

Remarks
The pupils were already showed on how to open and close the Paint program from last week, but I started
the lesson by giving them a recap on the previous lesson. All of them managed to recall their previous
learnt material although some can recall half of procedures. I used PowerPoint slide to show using IWB on
the week’s lesson (introduction on Paint tools). All of them give positive response and were very eager and
active in this week’s lesson. They constantly communicate answers (some already know the tools from
home). I managed to get their full cooperation and participation by getting them to the front and try out
the different tools using the IWB. After the enjoyment of getting them to draw and colour on the IWB
one by one, we recap together the names of the tools as what have been taught in the earlier part of the
lesson.

ICT in Maths

The start of the lesson went smoothly since they have learnt the same multiplication technique the
previous week (with a 2 by 2 digit). The same scenario occurred as last week, where pupils understood the
technique well (except about 5 pupils who are SENA students). They had trouble in terms of remembering
their multiplication tables which that slows their pace in attempting the activity. Even when asking them to
perform the examples on the IWB, they still have to finger calculate their multiplication table, which in
the end takes longer time for the lesson development. The exercises managed to be done (half of the
pupils finished on time, while half of them are still half way through whereas the other 5 SENA pupils
either did nothing or only perform one question). Although individualized attentions have been given, little
or no difference was seen in their progress. The major problem with the students is remembering the
multiplication table. Minority of the pupils have difficulty even in drawing the grids (the lower ability ones).
However, the lesson went as planned except the games where we still don’t have enough time to let them
perform and enjoy the gaming. It is suggested that there are SENA teachers in the class to help out cater
the SENA pupils.
