Fade to deep blue.

A jester drowning in a pool of diamond tears. With his heart shattered,

tainted forever, crimson with agony, blue with sorrow and his soul sinking below
the waves to a kingdom of lilies and rainbows where wrecked submarines lie
still, caressed by peacock feathers and sugar clouds.

Fade to amber.

A dolphin, twisted arrow slicing across the waters. Up and down between
green skies and marmalade seas, dancing alone among stars and cellos, blowing
bubbles and holes against a venetian sunset.

A cat, Neko, and a lonely Queen of Hearts, my sweet Columbine

A dodo, not the last one but the one before, walking silly and wearing a tuxedo two
sizes too small, starts singing a tune made of sweet almonds and chocolate chip. It
gets carried away by lead balloons and flaming jellyfish that take him straight to
Victoria Station.

Fade to green.

A frog, nothing special about it. Just a frog.

Pierrot is lost in his thoughts, lost in his life, lost without hope. Colombine waits while
the cat draws exotic japanese birds standing on cherry trees. The claw traces
exquisite features and the birds look so real that the cat is fooled by its own art and
eats them. The frog stares.

Minstrels and robins sing to the oncoming day while crystal parrots play hide and
seek in the ruins of a lost cathedral.

Fade to cherry red.

A flying saucer lands on a deserted beach, shortly followed by another, then by a
flying tea pot, two flying teacups, a pair of flying tea spoons and some strawberry
cake and million dollar sandwiches. Tea for two is ready. The frog is still not
interested but curiosity is starting to itch its long bunny ears.

The jester would love to join the singing but as he starts to sing his broken heart
begins to cry Colombine a song. His voice cracks, he remains silent and his soul fills
the winds with sad emotions and four-leaved clovers.

The dolphin flies attune with the undertow, chasing schools of silvery
illusions watching them change course, evade threats, and dissolve swallowed by
the endless ocean.

Fade to silver.

Tsuni, the moon, has nothing to do in this story so she is politely asked to leave the
stage. She complies gracefully but doesn’t go far. She chooses to stay in the
shadows.

The clock strikes ten, then strikes a match, then lights a cigarette and turns into
smoke.

Dodo is late for tomorrow and tomorrow is a Mexican lie.

An abandoned house, forgotten shelter.

Too many toys in the attic, tin soldiers parade and perform brave attacks against
dismembered teddy bears and headless dolls. They die their metallic deaths without
screams or medals. Chinese dragons watch in admiration. Neko chases the frog up
the stairs and they both climb and climb for hours until they reach the basement.

Confetti starts to rain.

The frog jumps too high and catches Tsuni by surprise, they fall in love and play hide
and seek behind the seven suns. The night belongs to lavender stars and merciless
samurais.

Fade to dark.

Pierrot and Columbine finally find each other; they start to dance together making
high pitched noises of pure joy, projecting columns of emerald waters and black
flotsam. They ride the waves to the skyline where their destinies mix for the eternity.

Thus ends the story of both dolphins.

On the beach, there’s an unstarted tea party, a lost Dodo (not the last one but the
one before) and a deck of cards with a missing Queen of Hearts.

Fade to grey.

Neko licks one of its paws, cleans it and blinks, then …   who knows?

A jester, all by himself.

A jester, quietly fading away, away, away.
