The Hillsborough disaster was a human crush and a panic which occurred during the FA cup semi-final featuring

Liverpool and Nottingham Forest on 15th April 1989 at the Hillsborough stadium in Sheffield. The crush resulted in 96 fatalities and left 766 others with injuries. It remains the worst stadium related disaster in British history. The initial enquiry was launched and Liverpool supporters were accused of causing the accident and taking part in sick acts such as pick pocketing the dead and urinating on police officers who attempted to help. Nearly 24 years on, in September 2012, the truth was revealed. Liverpool fans were not to blame, Policing and ambulance services smeared Liverpool fans to deflect the blame.
