    May 16th 20th
    Reading:

    Students are continuing to work on their sight word lists as well as reading
    and comprehending books at their level. We will begin to formally level
    students next week.
    Math:

    As we finish up our measurement and data unit, we will be working on


    number sense for the remainder of the year.
    Writing:

    This week we continued working on persuasive letters. Students practiced


    writing to different people to persuade them of a topic of interest.
    Inquiry:

    In preparation for the zoo, each student will be researching a polar animal
    or an Australian animal. We will write what we know, questions we have
    and what we have learned after researching. Students will also focus on the
    habitat and diet of the animal they chose.

    Reminders

    Zoo field trip money and permission slip are due May 26th.
    Please remember that if you volunteer to chaperone the zoo field trip,
    we need to have a background check done for you.
