Listen! This was so sweet and cute and wholesome and everything in between!! AAAAAAAAAH OMG my tummy was swimming in butterflies 🦋🥰 I was grinning the entire time and wishing I wasn’t single this festive season. This short book captures the vibe of the typical cheesy and cutesy hallmark movies perfectly!

This book takes place in Lake Wisteria, the town to Lauren’s Lakefront Billionaire series, but let me tell you this was so different from all her usual billionaire romances while still having the amazing banter and writing. This is Asher’s smallest book but she still managed to have strong, developed leads and an entertaining plot. And of course it wouldn’t be a Lauren’s book if she didn’t bring awareness to something, and in this book she points out the hardest parts of working in healthcare which I appreciated so much. And she does so, subtly and without taking away from the goal of the story.

Also, I thought the whole ex-boyfriend thing would play a bigger part in it, but I actually really liked the direction this took. Although, there were times when her sister and ex-boyfriend teaming up to help Luke win Catalina felt a little too much. But it didn’t take from my enjoyment.

Most people in town call Catalina an ice queen, but everyone has a melting point. I just haven’t found hers yet.

Catalina Martinez is a traveling NICU nurse who is back in town for her sister’s wedding with her ex-boyfriend. She is viewed as the “not-so-nice Martinez sister” because she’s quiet, shy and not out going when it comes to interacting with people, being misinterpreted as coming off as rude and not nice.

How I love her!! It was so easy to connect whit her and I could see so much of myself in her. It made me feel understood and hopeful in a way. She just wanted to find someone who truly loved her for her. “Ice queen” and all. Her interactions with Luke were so heartwarming, and it was so cute seeing how she melted with each interaction.

Some people really are undeniably good, and in a world like ours, we could use more of them.

Luke Darling is a sunshine cinnamon roll in its purest form! He is a doctor and the best man of the groom and just so sweet, understanding and plain good! The kind of person that sees you struggling and tries to make it comfortable for you without being overwhelming. That’s what he was to Catalina!

He knew what he wanted from the beginning and didn’t shy away from it, making his feelings obvious from the start. The way he just wanted to make her laugh eeeeeeeek!!! He was a perfect gentleman.

”There is always room for love in our lives, so long as we are open to accepting the kind we think we deserve.”

Their interactions were amazing, funny and just so real. Sometimes we read so many books with the most outrageous romance story and it doesn’t feel achievable, you know? But this felt so real, hopeful and genuine. Like it can truly happen. To anyone. At any time.

Overall such a cute and quick novella perfect for this holiday season. My only complaint is that we didn’t get more time with this characters but let me assure you if you are feeling a little cold this winter this book promises to warm you up.
