Bu çalışmanın amacı park kullanıcıları için kaliteli bir yaşam çevresi oluşturmada belirlenen kalite
kriterlerinin Yozgat kent parkları örneğinde
irdelenmesidir. Bu kriterler; aktivite ve kullanımlar(çeşitlilik), ulaşılabilirlik (okunaklılık), konfor ve
imaj (güvenlik ve bakım) ve sosyo-psikolojik
etmenler olarak belirlenmiş ve Atatürk parkı ve Kent
Parkı kullanıcıları üzerinde sınanmıştır. Elde edilen
veriler frekans ve kikare ve bağımsız T testi
anlamlılık analizinden geçirilmiştir. Sonuç olarak,
belirlenen kalite kriterlerinden konfor, imaj,
güvenlik, bakım ve sosyo-psikolojik kriterlerinin
kullanıcıların parkları kaliteli olarak algılamaların
da etkili önemli kriterler olduğu, park deneyimi
sonucunda elde edilen duygusal algılamanın, genel
beğenilerini dolayısıyla da parkı kaliteli olarak
algılamalarını etkileyen bir kriter olmadığı, ve
sosyo-demografik özelliklerdeki farklılaşmanın genel
beğeni algılamalarını etkilediği belirlenmiştir.

It is essential that public buildings, which have an important place in the whole city and are open to every one's use, designed with the concept of universal design. Universal design; It aims to make standard designs for all groups of people living in a society with different characteristics, regardless of their physiological characteristics, age, gender, social, economic, and educational level. The design and use of public buildings, which are sometimes the city's symbol, sometimes the space that the citizens add color to their lives, and sometimes the facilities where services are received, are essential for the city's identity and the citizens. In this article, the concepts and principles of universal design were defined; the importance of anthropometry and ergonomics in universal design and its historical development were also discussed. As a part of the city, the universal design approach principles have been studied to design accessible, navigable, and accessible buildings together with the city. The legislation having a significant role in shaping the buildings and physical environment has also been discussed and interpreted within this scope. With this study, it has been revealed that “approach to building” (urban level), “circulation within building” (building level), and “reaching services in spaces” (space level) criteria, which are the primary approach criteria of universal design, coincide with the approach introduced in transforming the "user system" into a "building system". Thus, a criteria-based building evaluation form was created to evaluate many public buildings' design following universal design principles. From this point of view, the most used public building of Northern Cyprus has been comprehensively studied. The building's internal organization and its immediate surroundings have been examined and suggestions made within the framework of universal design principles.

Design of environment, structure or products which can be used by individuals with different size, gender, age and ability is defined as universal design. This design provides that all individuals should enjoy equal rights. Therefore, universal design undertaken in artificial environment does not allow the disadvantaged groups such as the people with disabilities, elderly and children to be excluded from others as they do in accessible design. It is argued by researchers that parks and playgrounds have an important role in children's development, and therefore should be designed by taking all children with different skills and abilities into consideration. This article aims at studying the accessible playground located in Dr Fazıl Kucuk Park (Cyprus) by adopting the principles of universal design and therefore proposing solutions to design an inclusive playground enabling children with different abilities to enjoy the park all together.

This paper focuses on the Superkilen Park (2012), situated in the dense residential area of Nørrebro-an ethnically diverse and challenging district of Copenhagen. The designer team, Superflex, BIG, and Topotek 1, intends to represent a coexisting multicultural society. This paper makes a reading of Superkilen as a mediated reproduction, since mass media, particularly advertising and publishing, become an essential catalyst in the design process. Furthermore, the park is continuously consumed worldwide via advertisements, printed materials, exhibitions, and digital media. Therefore, apart from the concept of the park as a social construct, as this paper shows, Superkilen emerges as an instrument of image making and city branding, since it is primarily produced as image. A proliferation of photographs that promote Superkilen and publicise Nørrebro shows the urge to capture frames of monochrome, colourful, striped, and patterned urban furniture, objects, and surfaces. Yet the glossy and manipulated images do not reflect the materiality and use of the built park. Today, a flood of images dominates the media saturated public sphere, since, for the commercial success of art and architecture products, the works ought to be well promoted. Drawing from contemporary architectural and cultural theories of image and media, this paper tackles the media appearances of Superkilen as fabricated and marketed images. It evaluates how representations transform the park into frames of reality and idealized images of everyday life.

Bu dönem içinde, ateşin, iğne ve ipin, tarımın, tekerleğin ve yazının keşfi gibi olaylar, türümüzün gelişimindeki en önemli dönüm noktalarındandır. Lakin bu süreçlere baktığımızda, her bir keşfin arasında bin yıllar varken, insanoğlunun son birkaç yüzyılda gerçekleştirdiği keşifler nedeniyle hayatlarımız inanılmaz bir hızla değişmektedir. Endüstri devrimiyle başlayan buharlı makineler, elektrik, ampul, DNA, nükleer enerji gibi buluşlar inanılmaz bir hızla birbirini takip ederken, günlük hayatımızın en önemli parçalarından olan iletişim cihazları da her geçen gün gelişerek çoğalmaktadır. Taşınabilir bilgisayarlar, akıllı telefonlar ve tablet bilgisayarlar geliştikçe insanlar herhangi bir yerde ve herhangi bir zamanda internete ihtiyaç duyar hale gelmişlerdir. Bunun bir sonucu olarak interneti daha ulaşılabilir kılma ihtiyacı artmıştır. Bu nedenle kamusal açık alanlarda kablosuz internet ağları yaygınlaşmış, alışılagelmiş kamusal açık alan tasarımları üzerinde önemli bir parametre olarak etkisini göstermeye başlamıştır. Bu çalışmada çeşitli ülkelerdeki açık alanda kablosuz internet kullanımıyla ilgili yapılan araştırmalar derlenmiş, ABD ve Katar'da yapılan Wi-Fi park çalışmaları irdelenmiş ve tasarım kriterleri yorumlanmıştır.


It is estimated that Homo saphiens has been existing on earth for 70000 years. During this period, discoveries such as fire, needle and string, agriculture, wheel and language are the most important landmarks in the evolution of our species. But when we look at this process there are thousands of years between each of them, though in the last few centuries human being has performed amazing discoveries which caused that our lives has been rapidly changing. The industrial revolution began with the steam engine, electricity, light bulbs, DNA, nuclear power, while successive inventions at an incredible rate, which is one of the most important parts of our daily life communication devices have proliferated developing with each passing day. The more laptops, smart phones, tablet pc's evolve; the more people need internet in anywhere and anytime. As a consequence of this situation, internet needs to become more accessible. Therefore, wireless internet networks are pervasive in public open space, public open space on the design of conventional as an important parameter has started to show its effect. In this study, it is complied that the researches about wireless internet usage in different countries, examined the Wi-Fi park applications in USA and Qatar and interpreted the design criteria.

Günümüzde sayıları hızla artan çok katlı apartman yapıları, taşıt trafiğine açık sokaklar çocuk oyun alanlarını hızla tüketmektedir. Ancak bu durumdan sadece teknolojik ve endüstriyel gelişimi sorumlu tutmak doğru mu? İnsan ilişkileri, toplum içindeki sosyo-psikolojik bozulmalar, yeni yaşam koşullarıne ne demeli? Peki hiç içimizdeki çocuğa nasıl bir fiziksel çevre istediği soruldu mu? Günümüzdeki eksiklikler önceden de mevcut muydu? Peki ya tarihte çoçuğa ayrılan alan ne kadardı? Tüm bu ve benzeri soulara yanıt bulmayı hedefleyen bu araştırmadaki amaç, insanlığın sürekliliğinde küçük ama önemli bir aktör olan çocuğun fiziksel, psikolojik ve toplumsal davranışlarını incelemek, buna bağlı olarak çocuk mekanları ve özellikle çocuk bahçeleri üzerine incelemeler yapmak, yurt dışından ve ülkemizden örneklerle bu alanların özelliklerini görsel sunumlarla değerlendirmektir.

Communication devices, which are one of the most important materials of our daily lives, have been rapidly changing and developing with each passing day. The more laptops, smart phones, tablet pc's evolve; the more people need internet in anywhere and anytime. Many applications on smart phones require internet connection; otherwise there are no differences between old fashioned cell phones and smart ones. As a consequence of this situation, internet is needed to become more accessible. Therefore, as an important parameter on the design of public open space has started to show its effect. iParks – internet parks or Wi-Fi parks in some resources – are getting more popularized by municipal election campaigns and by clarifying the design principles it would get more common all over the world. This is a public service; that's why, in line of demographic characteristics of the users shape the ultimate design, after surveying and determining users' profile and intensity of use. The internet which is used by people heavily transforms from an indoor recreation to outdoor recreation and this would increase the usage of the parks. In addition to this, Wi-Fi antenna types to be used in park must be placed to cover all parts of the park where would be expected to connect the internet connection. With the identity of landscape architect, it cannot be decided the types of antenna connection, speed, density, energy source and forms such as telecommunication engineer; but they can design the park according to the signal direction of antennas and coverage or integrate it into the existing park. Therefore, iParks require multidisciplinary work.

Design proposal (2004) for a historical marker honoring the Lewis Family, who were Bahamian, and whose members settled on the banks of the New River in what became Fort Lauderdale sometime before 1792-1793.  Located in the Tarpon Bend neighborhood, a marker was built on the south bank of the river in 2006 and the expanded site became a park in 2010 and is now known as "Lewis Landing Park."

The nature of cities underwent a big change starting from industrial revolution to nowadays. Besides, the life style and expectations of city-dwellers and the open space usages have been changing constantly by globalization and technological developments. Public open spaces also have been under the influence of all these dynamics. Furthermore, the transformation in the theoretical framework of "landscape" also helped to emerge a new type of public open space characteristics during last three decades. Together with the new perspective of landscape, new concepts rose in the design of public open spaces.

Bahçe"nin geçmişinin neredeyse insanlık tarihi kadar eski olduğunu düşünürsek, ölçek olarak bahçeden daha büyük bir yeşil alana sahip olan parkların da ilk örneklerinin bir o kadar eskilere dayandığını söyleyebiliriz. Ancak, tarih öncesi çağlardaki park örnekleri çoğunlukla dinlenme av, eğitim, tarımsal faaliyetler ve dinsel işlevler için ayrılmış, "kişilere ait büyük bahçelerdi". Kamusal toplanmalar genellikle dönemine göre agora, forum ya da meydanlarda yapılıyordu ve bahçeler ile ölçek anlamında park niteliğinde olan alanlar da "mülkiyeti belli bir kişiye ait olan" yeşil alanlardı. Büyüklüğü ne olursa olsun "bahçe" takısı almaktan kendini kurtaramayan parklar için ilk dönüm noktası 19. yüzyıldır. Bu yüzyılda toplumlarda her alanda büyük değişimlere yol açan Sanayi Devrimi ile birlikte kentlerde nüfus ve yapılaşma artmış ve bu değişim kırsal toplumdan kentsel topluma geçişin başlangıcı olmuştur. Hızlı kentleşme sonucu azalan doğal kaynakları koruma amacıyla geliştirilen öneriler ile kent planlama ve peyzaj bu yüzyılda daha ön plana çıkmış ve gittikçe artan yeşil alan ihtiyacı sebebiyle de park hareketi, bahçe kent hareketi gibi yaklaşımlar ile rekreasyon alanı, metropoliten park sistemi gibi kavramlar ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu nedenle, 19. yüzyılın ikinci yarısı özel bahçelerden, kamuya açık parklara ve bahçe tasarımından, peyzaj mimarlığına geçişin yaşandığı yıllar olmuştur.

La definizione di parco che dà il Dizionario di Architettura ed Urbanistica è sorprendente. Il parco è anche recinto, "barco".
Quest'ambiguità spinge a sollevare una questione: se è vero che il parco, debitamente inteso, rappresenta effettivamente un recinto, è, forse, questa nozione estendibile al concetto di città come insieme di complessità  all' interno di una cinta muraria ?
La domanda dimostra che la categoria  parco, nel contesto del disegno del territorio e della città, occupa una posizione sempre più prossima alla pura sperimentazione.
Le possibilità che il "tipo" del parco offre sono molteplici, sia per la "scala" dell'intervento, sia per il fatto che il progetto degli spazi aperti trova, forse a causa di una sensibilizzazione operata dai mezzi di comunicazione, buona sorte presso il grande pubblico e, dunque, l'opinione pubblica è pronta ad osservare benevolmente interventi sul verde, salvo, poi, a non utilizzarli se realizzati. La ricostruzione della natura, se intesa solamente come piatta restituzione degli equilibri naturali, rischia di essere una finzione, una mimesi, una negazione di tutto ciò che c'è stato prima. Questo fenomeno trova un analogo nell'uso sconsiderato che gli architetti fanno dell' hi-tech che, mettendo in mostra elementi che poco hanno a che vedere con l'architettura, trascende la qualità del progetto per dimostrare al pubblico che qualcosa, bene o male, è stata fatta.
Il termine "progetto di parco" illustra chiaramente come all' origine ci sia, da parte dell'uomo, un intervento progettuale che non può, secondo chi scrive, dimenticarsi di quello che pre-esisteva.
Nel vasto panorama della cultura che concerne il parco, caratterizzato dalla presenza di numerose scuole di pensiero, è complesso riuscire a identificare una scala di rappresentazione alla quale ascrivere il parco stesso.  Non si può parlare genericamente di parco o di giardino. Le odierne molteplicità di rapporti e di scambio di dati fa sì che il parco non sia più solamente un luogo destinato all'ottocentesca esposizione di specie botaniche, così come il giardino non può più semplicemente essere assimilato all'orto o la porzione di terreno semplicemente destinata al "decoro" del quartiere.
E' soprattutto in relazione ai secoli precedenti che l'immagine del parco subisce una mutazione: se, difatti, nel periodo compreso tra il cinquecento ed il settecento il parco/barco/recinto è contenitore, in misura sempre maggiore, di geometrie e regole auree, popolato da divinità (il giardino di Orfeo ed Euridice)1 e se nell' ottocento questo non è più sorretto da proporzioni "sacre" ma è semplice recinto, contenitore, nella seconda metà del novecento il parco torna ad essere popolato da regole auree, segnali che si configurano attraverso il conflitto silenzioso e "sublime"2 tra uomo e natura.
E' dunque necessario, attraverso l'analisi di alcuni esempi significativi, stabilire una sistematica del progetto del parco contemporaneo.
