The paper presents results of an entomological expedition carried out in the southern parts of Kazakhstan in May 2015. This expedition was conducted within a joint team project of the Department of Entomology, Faculty of Biology, Saint Petersburg State University, and the National Museum of Natural History, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The paper includes a list of 17 recorded species of Lepidoptera with comments on their distribution.

In this paper, eleven species of various subfamilies and tribes of Tortricidae are reported here as new to the faunas of Bitlis, Malatya, Muş, Siirt, Van and Şırnak provinces (East Turkey). Among them Pammene querceti Gozm is recorded for the first time in Turkey. Most of the adults and all the male genitalia of the species discussed are illustrated. Early stages of Cnephasia chrysantheana from Van Province are also illustrated.
New records of leafrollers reared in Azerbaijan (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae

17 species of tortricid moths had been defined for the eastern parts of Azerbaijan during the years of 1994-2015. Five of these, Ptycholoma lecheana (LINNAEUS, 1758), Cacoecimorpha pronubana HÜBNER, 1799, Eudemis profundana ([DENIS & SCHIFFERMÜLLER], 1775), Hedya salicella (LINNAEUS, 1758), and Epinotia demarniana (FISCHER VON RÖSLERSTAMM, 1840), are new to the Azerbaijan fauna; two of them (Cacoecimorpha pronubana and Epinotia demarniana) are new to the Caucasian fauna, as well. Leafrollers were collected in the larval and pupal stage from March to September on their food plants according to the sampling methods. The early stages were kept in the laboratory until adult emergence, after which they were killed and pinned. Data on newly recorded leafrollers are given in the text including species name, collection area, coordinates of area, data of collection, food plants on which they were recorded, and sex of specimen(s).

A list of 145 species of the family Tortricidae, recorded from the western part of Tuva, is presented. The material studied originates from a joint FinnishRussian expedition made in June 1995. Additional data have been taken from Ukrainian, Russian and German literature. Cochylimorpha arenosana n. sp. from sand dunes of Northern Mongolia is described. Three species, Falseuncaria lechriotoma Razowski, 1970, Acleris idonea Razowski, 1972 and Eucosma argentifera Razowski, 1972 - all described from Mongolia - are reported as new for Russia. From the total of 145 species 138 can be placed into three main zoogeographical complexes: Holarctic/Palaearctic about 83%, Mediterranean- Central-Asiatic about 10% and endemic for the mountains of CentralAsia about 7%. The Holarctic complex can be divided into four chorological groups: Holarctic (22 spp.), Transpalaearctic (65 spp.), Western Palaearctic (12 spp.) and Eastern Palaearctic (13 spp.). This study deals with the evaluation of 1003 publications and the annotated list of Lepidoptera of Afghanistan. In the first part, previous bibliographical publications of the authors are compared numerically. The selected 20 themes, i., and method, are determined. Their numerical values in the bibliography are evaluated. In the main part, annotated list of the bibliography of Turkey is arranged according to the names of the authors, and the date of publications. Main themes are mentioned as codes. Mainly studied taxonomical groups are also given. Selected brief bibliographies are also added to 44 major families of Afghanian Lepidoptera.

This paper deals with the bibliography and the checklist of the Lepidoptera of Afghanistan. Totally 1675 species of 51 families of the Lepidoptera are listed with the chronologically arranged synonyms, and the range of the speciesmentioned in codes. Some taxa are also provided with the original references and vernacular names in English and Turkish. Here 239 butterfly, and 1436 moth species are listed, represented in the Lepidoptera fauna by 14%, and 86%, respectively. Totally 835 publications are listed and evaluated according to their contents, i.e., selected 28 scientific subjects. In a special chapter, some illustrations of the classical works on South West Asia are evaluated with some remarks on the species of Afghanistan. Nomenclatural case of Zygaena afghana Moore,[1860] is discussed.

Faunistically interesting records of Lepidoptera from Chechen Republic (Russia) are presented. Two species of Crambidae are reported as new to European part of Russia, 2 species – as new to the Eastern Caucasus. Current occurrence in the republic is confirmed for 1 species of Noctuidae.

Faunistic data of some Lepidoptera Tortricidae collected in Southern Russian territory are reported; moreover, the new species Ceratoxanthis saratovica sp. n., from Saratov region is described. Externally C. saratovica resembles to Ceratoxanthis argentomixtana (Staudinger, 1870); in the male genitalia is closed to Ceratoxanthis iberica Baixeras, 1992.
Lepidoptera of the Taymyr peninsula, northwestern Siberia
Entomologica Fennica
The annotated list of 155 species of Lepidoptera, in addition to five records on unidentified species with known generic affinity, from the Taymyr national district is the first comprehensive account from this area. It is based on the results of the collecting trip of 2002, and on old materials collected by different researchers, and all published records collected by intensive bibliographic search and through consultations with colleagues. Four species erroneously reported from Taymyr are excluded from the list; 65 species are new for this district, including Clepsis mehli that is new to Russia and East Palaearctic, and Argyroploce mengelana reported from Asia for the first time. Records of 32 species are based exclusively on earlier publications; occurrence of other species is confirmed by the investigated material (listed in the paper). We expect that some hundreds of species are still yet to be discovered in Taymyr. The fauna of moths and butterflies of Taymyr is clearly more similar to that of East Palaearctic or Polar Ural than to that of northwestern Europe. In an European perspective, this fauna looks quite exotic and may resemble one that existed in Europe during the ice ages.

The article presents the most interesting results of elaboration of the author’s and colleagues’ collections, and some collection materials stored in the museums and scientific institutions of Ukraine: I. I. Schmalhausen Institute of Zoology of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Zoological Museum of Kyiv National University named after Taras Shevchenko, and Museum of Nature of Kharkiv National University named after V. N. Karazin. The author reveals for the first time 4 species of tortricid moths from Ukraine: Cnephasia tianshanica Filipjev, 1934; Cydia millenniana (Adamczewski, 1967); Grapholita difficilana (Walsingham, 1900); Dichrorampha senectana Guenée, 1845. New finds of 12 rare species of tortricid moths (Aethes tornella (Walsingham, 1898); Eucosma balatonana (Osthelder, 1937); E. rubescana (Constant, 1895); Thiodia sulphurana (Christoph, 1888); Corticivora piniana (Herrich-Schäffer, 1851); Cydia oxytropidis (Martini, 1912); C. ulicetana (Haworth, [1811]); C. intexta (Kuznetsov, 1962); Grapholita gemmiferana (Treitschke, 1835); G. lobarzewskii (Nowicki, 1860); Strophedra weirana (Douglas, 1850); Dichrorampha teichiana Šulcs et Kerppola, 1997), which distribution in Ukraine needs clarification and further study, are also presented. The obtained data will be used for preparation of catalogue of the Lepidoptera of Ukraine.

In the present paper, Lepidoptera Tortricidae are reported to have
been found among material collected in the mountainous localities of
Kazakistan, Kirgizstan and Turkmenija. The specimens were taken in
the period from 1974 to 2000 by colleagues Sergei V. Churkin (Moscow,
Russia), Vidmandas Karalius, Povilas Ivinskis, Jan Miatleuski, and
Aidas Saldaitis (Vilnius, Lithuania). Specimens were collected applying electrical lamps of different types. Part of the material was trapped
during the daytime, and a few species were raised from larvae.
Microlepidoptera fauna of Central Asia is less known. Some parts of
the region were not completely inventoried and studied. The present
paper provides new data on the distribution of some Tortricidae (total
number of species 69). Among other tortricids of particular interest
were: Phtheochroa kenneli (Obraztsov), Cochylimorpha halophilana
(Christoph), C. alternana (Stephens), C. emiliana (Kennel), C.
pirizanica (Razowski), and C. woliniana (Schleich), Phalonidia contractana (Zeller), Agapeta zoegana (Linnaeus), Eugnosta lathoniana
(Hübner), Cochylidia rupicola (Curtis) and C. moguntiana (Rössler),
Eana samarcandae (Razowski), Cnephasia cupressivorana
