During the studies, it has been defined that, the Egyptian locust goes for the hibernation in the stage of imago and the large older larvae. They exit from the hibernation in the early spring when the temperature of the weather is high from 12-13ºC, and after the second half of March the fertilization occurs. The fertilization between individuals continues until the end of June, but the laying-egg process continues from the second decade of May until the end of July. Females lay about 2000 eggs totally by being 65-140 eggs for each nest in the reproduction period. Embryonic development continues in 38-45 days, but the development of the larvae continues in 65-70 days.

During the survey 60 species Curculionidae and 25 species Cerambycidae were collected. Two Cerambycidae species (Isotomus comptus and Chlorophorus hircanus) are new for Azerbaijan fauna.

The aim of the research was to determine the degree of harmfulness of tortricids found on the Red Data Book species of trees and to define their parasitoid complex. The tortricid species was registered on the 6 rare tree species found in Hirkan NP. Salix kuznetsowii and Populus hyrcana are Caucasian endemic species, others (Zelkova carpinifolia, Quercus castaneifolia, Gleditsia caspia and Parrotia persica) are rare species of Azerbaijan. According to harmfulness; the Tortrix viridana, Archips rosanus and A. xy-losteana can be considered to be most dangerous tortricid pests for red book tree species of the Hirkan NP. During the research; 35 species of tor-tricid parasitoids were revealed in the natural park area.

They belong to Tortricinae (9 species) and Olethreutinae (8 species) subfamilies. From recorded species 5 ones ( Ptycholoma lecheana (L.), Cacoecimorpha pronubana (Hub), Eudemis profundana (Den.et Schif.), Epinotia demarniana (Fisch.), Hedya salicella (L.)) are new to Azerbaijan fauna. From recorded species Archips crataeganus, Ptycholoma lecheana, Cacoecimorpha pronubana, Hedya salicella, Spilonota ocellana, Epinotia demarniana, Notocelia uddmanniana are not numerous. They are registered in a few samples only. The widest trophic connection is registered in 3 tortrix moth species: Archips rosanus, Archips xylosteanus, Tortrix viridana. Thus, A.rosanus feeds on 26 plant species, T.viridana – 12, A.xylosteanus – 12. From tortrix moths new to Azerbaijan fauna E.profundana only predominated during research. It feeds on oak. Harmf...

Sixteen species of leaf-rollers representing 14 genera were found to be widespread throughout the regions - 9 species of Tortricinae and 7 species of Olethreutinae. Four species, Ptycholoma lecheana (L.), Cacoecimorpha pronubana Hubner, Eudemis profundana (Denis & Schiffermuller), and Epinotia demarniana (Fisch.), are newly recorded for Azerbaijan. Tortrix viridana L. represented 46.0% of the total number of specimens, Archips rosanus L. 28.0%, and Archips xylosteanus L. 20.2%. Keywords Food plants, pest species, leaf-roller, caterpillar, pupa, imago.
