In all environments where individuals live, learn, play, work, rest, and seek medical attention, a gradual strategy is needed to ensure that sanitation and drinking water operations are safe, equitable, accessible, available, and affordable for everyone. Approximately 13,000 kids under the age of five die every year from illness linked to a lack of access to clean water, inadequate sanitation, and poor hygiene, adding up to an estimated 484,000 children worldwide who are affected by these conditions. This study aims to assess the effect of monitoring and evaluation planning and performance of water and sanitation projects in Langata Sub County, Nairobi County in Kenya. The study used a descriptive study design. The study was conducted in Langata Sub County, Nairobi County, targeting officers providing water and sanitation services. The study targeted all 245 officials managing several water and sanitation projects by the county government of Nairobi. The study used a semi-structured questionnaire and interview schedule to collect data. The questionnaire was tested to ascertain its validity and reliability before the data collection exercise. The collected data was analysed in SPSS.

Standardized approach followed during research ensures clear objective, thorough evaluation, evaluation of preformulation parameters, and hence ultimately safeguarding public health. Pharmaceutical regulatory bodies play a pivotal role in safeguarding public health by organizing the development, manufacturing, and distribution of pharmaceutical products in an effective way. Regulatory bodies are responsible for ensuring drugs standards, safety, efficacy, and quality. Regulatory bodies are responsible for guidelines enforcement and assessment of lifecycle of pharmaceuticals, which includes preclinical studies and clinical studies and then evaluation of clinical trials humans, which signifies drugs safety and efficacy. Also regulatory agencies set standards for manufacturing to ensure quality and consistency of pharmaceuticals i.e. requirements for facilities, equipment, personnel, and documentation. Adherence to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines is quite a crucial parameter to prevent contamination, errors, or deviations during the production. Regulatory bodies set standards for assessing ADR of drug, which involves thorough evaluation of clinical trial data, post-marketing surveillance, safety monitoring and finally labeling and packaging requirements to provide accurate information to patients. Furthermore, these bodies engage in postmarketing surveillance to monitor the safety and efficacy of pharmaceutical products. Adverse event reporting systems allow healthcare professionals and consumers to report unexpected side effects or other concerns, enabling regulatory authorities to take prompt action if necessary. Collaboration between regulatory bodies on an international level is another critical aspect of pharmaceutical regulation.

Leeches are connected to the afflicted areas and start sucking blood after a first, painless bite. Instead of the blood extracted during biting, the majority of these therapeutic benefits originate from the numerous bioactive substances found in saliva, such as hyaluronidase, hirudin, calin, destabilase, apyrase, eglin, and many others. Treatments focus on reducing regional pain syndromes, primarily for osteoarthritis of the knee or other joint conditions. The use of this technology extends to plastic surgery, where it is used to maintain blood flow in clogged skin flaps, reconstructive procedures, cardiovascular complications, varicose veins, haemorrhoids, gastrointestinal disorders, dermatology, gynaecological abnormalities, and traumatic conditions like the reattachment of severed extremities, finger, toe, and ear. Recently, new applications in the treatment of diabetes, asthma and cancer have been found. Due to the increasing therapeutic potential of HT, researchers are striving to find and synthesize several new salivary compounds.

Although established in oncology, the profession does not have regulations, and the training varies in each program. Data about navigators' formation is scarce, but nurses the most prevalent professionals in a literature review. Since cancer patients can feel more imbued in expressing feelings, understanding, and coping with the disease, a psychologist could also be capable of navigating. Objective: Explore and recognize PN within the field of psychology. Method: A psychology student was selected for the project "Role of PN in improving time to start and finish radiotherapy (RT) in patients treated by the public health system in Belo Horizonte." Questionnaires to identify obstacles to the treatment were applied, and training granted by the Global Cancer Institute (GCI) guided the navigation. Results: From July 2018 to January 2020, 73 patients that needed RT were closely guided by weekly contacts, receiving help with documentation, appointment schedules, and information about their rights. Common points were difficulties in transportation, dialogue, and family support. As observed by caregivers, anxiety and stress levels were identified in all patients. As the treatment proceeded, there was a decrease in these levels (measured through questionnaires), with high rates of patient satisfaction with the navigator role (≥ 9/10 for all the patients). Conclusion: Beyond clinical care, the psychologist may exert other roles in an oncological team. This emphasizes the importance of psycho-oncology in core education and a new field of specialization due to its unique way of aiding patients' insecurities. In addition to initial training for skill development, an experienced and accessible institution such as GCI is essential to make navigators feel empowered and secure to perform their roles.

Methods: Calculations of solubilities rates accompanied with XRD analyses, plus accurate monitoring of metformin microstructural features as function of applied solvent of crystallization process. Results: XRD analyses indicated that applied solvent has no impact on the crystal structure of metformin. The roughness of metformin surface's were monitored by using high resolution SEM and AFM-microscope. Conclusion: Surface roughness plays an important role on dissolution rates process and consequently solvation rates. Enhancing or decreasing dissolution rates could be benefit in metformin drug industries.
Breast cancer (BC) is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in women worldwide with more than 2 mi... more Breast cancer (BC) is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in women worldwide with more than 2 million new cases in 2020.Its incidence and death rates have increased over the last three decades due to the change in risk factor profiles, better cancer registration, and cancer detection. The number of risk factors of BC is significant and includes both the modifiable factors and non-modifiable factors. Currently, about 80% of patients with BC are individuals aged >50.Survival depends on both stage and molecular subtype. Invasive BCs comprise wide spectrum tumors that show a variation concerning their clinical presentation, behavior, and morphology. Based on mRNA gene expression levels, BC can be divided into molecular subtypes (Luminal A, Luminal B, HER2-enriched, and basal-like).The molecular subtypes provide insights into new treatment strategies and patient stratifications that impact the management of BC patients. The eighth edition of TNM classification outlines a new staging system for BC that, in addition to anatomical features, acknowledges biological factors. Treatment of breast cancer is complex and involves a combination of different modalities including surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, or biological therapies delivered in diverse sequences.Body fatness is a dynamic exposure throughout life.To provide more insight into the association between body mass index (BMI) and postmenopausal breast cancer, we aimed to examine the age at onset, duration, intensity, and trajectories of body fatness in adulthood in relation to risk of breast cancer subtypes. Based on self-reported anthropometry in the prospective Norwegian Women and Cancer Study, we calculated the age at onset, duration, and intensity of overweight and obesity using linear mixed-effects models. BMI trajectories in adulthood were modeled using group-based trajectory modeling. We used Cox proportional hazards models to calculate hazard ratios (HRs) with 95% confidence intervals (Cis) for the associations between BMI exposures and breast cancer subtypes in 148,866 postmenopausal women. Advanced glycation end products (AGEs) are reactive metabolites intrinsically linked with modern dietary patterns. Processed foods, and those high in sugar, protein and fat, often contain high levels of AGEs. Increased AGE levels are associated with increased breast cancer risk, however their significance has been largely overlooked due to a lack of direct cause-and-effect relationship. Immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence were used to assess cellular proliferation and stromal fibroblast and macrophage recruitment. The Kruskal-Wallis test were used to compare continuous outcomes among groups. Mammary epithelial cell migration and invasion in response to AGE-mediated fibroblast activation was determined in two-compartment co-culture models. In vitro experiments were performed in triplicate. The nonparametric Wilcoxon rank sum test was used to compare differences between groups. Deep learning analysis of radiological images has the potential to improve diagnostic accuracy of breast cancer, ultimately leading to better patient outcomes. This paper systematically reviewed the current literature on deep learning detection of breast cancer based on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).The literature search was performed from 2015 to Dec 31, 2022, using Pubmed. Other database included Semantic Scholar, ACM Digital Library, Google search, Google Scholar, and pre-print depositories (such as Research Square).Articles that were not deep learning (such as texture analysis) were excluded. PRISMA guidelines for reporting were used. We analyzed different deep learning algorithms, methods of analysis, experimental design, MRI image types, types of ground truths, sample sizes, numbers of benign and malignant lesions, and performance in the literature. I. Introduction: 01.Anatomy and Physiology:The female breasts are modified sweat glands. The breast tissue develops from the milk line.[1]At birth there is no difference between male and female breasts. Pubertal growth is due to glandular and fibrofatty proliferation.[39][1]The amount of fibroglandular tissue decreases with age.Multiple hormonal stimulation significantly increases the volume of the breast tissue during pregnancy. Each breast is comprised of 15-20 lobes interspersed with adipose tissue and connective tissue arranged in radial fashion extending from the nipple.[17][14]The nipple is situated In the center of a darker area of skin called the areola. The areola contains small glands, called Montgomery glands, which lubricate the nipple during breastfeeding. There are no muscles in the breasts, but the pectoral muscles lie under each breast and cover the ribs.

Our study was based on the effectiveness of the CSMA/CA method, the collision occurs when the modems transmit at the same time, the transmitters draw the same backoff (a random waiting time) after another transmission. After the backoff, the modems check, before transmitting, that the channel is free to base themselves on the detection of preamble symbols which identify a competing transmission. The proposed simulation approach is based on the estimation of the power level in the channel between the hybrid and default channel listening process. The solution is based on the transfer function used in the modeling.

Coalescence of the labia minora generally occurs in early childhood and in prepubertal girls. It is a rare entity in women of childbearing age, except in cases of hypo oestrogenism. In general, micturition dysfunction is a rare complication of labia minora coalescence. We report the case of an 18year-old female with complete and severe labia minora coalescence complicated by bladder retention.

Its occurrence in postoperative settings is an exceptional and serious phenomenon, with a lifethreatening prognosis: it is a medical-surgical emergency. The diagnosis is clinically suspected in the presence of hyperalgesic wall sepsis disproportionate to the extent of the lesions. Biological criteria are established by the LRINEC (Laboratory Risk Indicator for Necrotizing Fasciitis) score, which can help differentiate necrotizing fasciitis from severe cellulitis. Diagnosis is difficult at first, given the lack of specific signs, which worsens the prognosis, which depends on rapid medical and surgical management. Treatment is based on extensive and aggressive trimming of necrotic tissue with drainage, combined with active and intensive resuscitation, and broad-spectrum antibiotic therapy tailored to the results of bacteriological sampling. We report the case of a 42-year-old female patient presenting with necrotizing fasciitis of the anterolateral abdominal wall after hysterectomy.

It is more commonly described in obstetrics, exposing the mother to the risk of cataclysmic delivery haemorrhage. We report the case of a 48 year old patient presenting with acute 4th degree uterine inversion on a submucosal fundial myoma. Total interannexal hysterectomy was performed via a double approach: vaginal and laparoscopic. The laparoscopic approach enabled the diagnosis to be confirmed and the hysterectomy to be performed in complete safety.
