The interdisciplinarity of the marketing department is due to the application of concepts, methods and marketing technics specific both to service and to social marketing. In addition to this fact, the attempt of the social services to satisfy the patient's needs places the health care domain at the border between social and economic, between profit and non-profit orientation. However a lot of the notions from the marketing field (competition, promotion, strategy, need, supply, cost etc.) acquire new meaning when used for defining the rivalry between the distinct medical organizations, the advance of the health care services, the development and implementation policies in medical marketing, the increasingly acute demand for treatment, the use and the supply of health care services as well as the cost that it requires.. Conclusion: These above described microscopy method can be used to distinguish between benign and malignant thyroid nodules, based on different degree of the capsular collagen fibers orientation.

The relationship between chronic hepatitis C virus infection (HCV) and oral lichen planus (OLP) is a current topic in the field of oral medicine. Many studies of this association have been made over time. The geographic variation of the hepatitis C prevalence proved to be an important factor influencing the statistical results of the studies analyzing the association of the oral plan lichen with the hepatitis C virus. Approaching this issue is not to be neglected. Treatment outcomes in patients with oral lichen planus associated with chronic hepatitis C virus are often unsatisfactory compared to patients suffering from idiopathic oral lichen planus. Also, the evolution of oral lesions is often fluctuating, with repeated periods of relapse according to the degree of liver function decompensation. Background therapy for liver disease itself may influence lichen planus lesions. Thus, during therapy with interferon and ribavirin oral lesions may appear or become acute.

Burning mouth syndrome (BMS) is defined as a chronic pain condition characterized by a burning sensation in clinically healthy oral mucosa. Incidence BMS diagnosed in the Department of Oral Medicine - Oral Pathology Dental Faculty of Medicine, "Carol Davila" University of Medicine and Pharmacy Bucharest is 16,23%. The etiology of BMS remains far less known. This article makes an overview of the latest theories about possible etiopathogenic factors involved in the occurrence of BMS.

Burning mouth syndrome (BMS) is defined as a chronic pain condition characterized by a burning sensation in the clinically healthy oral mucosa. It is difficult to diagnose BMS because there is a discrepancy between the severity, extensive objective pain felt by the patient and the absence of any clinical changes of the oral mucosa. This review presents some aspects of BMS, including its clinical diagnosis, classification, differential diagnosis, general treatment, evolution and prognosis.

The purpose of the study is to give the rising incidence of Salmonellosis and the continuous decrease of sensitivity of Salmonella to a range of antibiotics, the prime importance of the choice of optimal anti-infective chemotherapy in order to prevent the selection of multidrug-resistant strains (MDR). We have studied 54 strains of Salmonella sent for further investigation to "Cantacuzino" NIRDMI Bucharest. The statistical analysis was based on the interpretation pathogen susceptibility and analyzed according to CLSI recommendations 2009, which revealed that 8 (14,81%) identified as S. enterica serovar Typhimurium group, presented a phenomenon of MDR. S. Typhimurium strains producing ESBL showed resistance mechanisms associated with beta-lactam resistance to aminoglycosides, quinolones, sulfonamides and tetracyclines.

During the transition period, the Romanian medical system, subject (like other areas) to a process of reform, had to go through a difficult path, not without obstacles (malpractice, underfunding, embezzlement scandals in the media etc.). Consequently, Romania has faced (and unfortunately still is still facing) the massive exodus of health professionals to countries where they can benefit from better working conditions and payment, and those who suffer from health care crisis are the patients. Reform means "the people in the system for the people", which requires a change of mindset within the medical staff, especially in the continuous professional development. To meet the shortfalls caused by the economic crisis, the Romanian medical system needed an objective analysis of the quality of medical care as a whole, of the entire package of health services as well as accountable joint efforts to identify system problems and, especially, firm action without compromising resolution, regardless of any limitations or emotional picture. In addition, last but not least, the judicious use of available resources.

The finding of the most appropriate way to assess precisely the antivenom efficacy represents one of the major issues for antivenom standardization and success increasing of antivenom therapy. The efficacy of experimental Vipera ammodytes antivenom raised in sheep was determined using in vivo mouse lethality test, respectively, L-aminoacid oxidase, total proteinase and phospholipase A 2 antienzymatic effectiveness. The values gained for the antivenom potency depend on the method of measure. So, some of the most toxic venom proteins own phospholipase A 2 activity and provide the highest antivenom potency (lowest effective dose) values by antienzymatic assay method. This value is similar with total antiproteolytic antivenom potency value, but almost three times higher than value obtained by L-aminoacid oxidase (low toxic viper venom protein) antienzymatic assay method.

The gamma-glutamyltransferase (GGT) is recognized in medical practice as a useful indicator for the detection of liver lesions, especially those induced by the excessive consumption of alcoholic or cholesterolassociated drinks. The present study, although it includes a very small number of cases diagnosed with colon diverticulosis-diverticulitis associated with polyposis at the same intestinal level, identifies the presence of increased circulating concentrations of this enzyme in the serum. Its serum levels are tracked "dynamically" throughout a year after the diagnosis and start of the therapy. The study calls into question the release of the enzyme from the edge of the enterocytes' brush-like edge, leading to the pathogenic disturbance of regional redox homeostasis. The hypothesis gives the circulating values of GGT predictive value for cellular oxidative stress, as well as for indirectly expressing the glutathione level in cytosol.

The current study was conducted on a sample of 91 patients diagnosed with diastolic dysfunction (DD) with preserved systolic function caused by a painful chronic ischaemic cardiopathyangina pectoris stable at the effort. The diagnosis was established following anamnesis, electrocardiogram, and echocardiography. Myeloperoxidase (MPO) serum levels were assessed in all patients and then these values were correlated with some of the echocardiography parameters that proved the mentioned diagnosis. In conclusion, the execution of this investigation triad (electrocardiogram, echocardiography, and MPO) allows: Stratifying the patients depending on the disease risk by early detecting of any possible DD with preserved systolic function. The use of the MPO increased circulating levels as a biomarker for diagnosis and risk due to the statistically significant correlation between those and the results of the other two aforementioned paraclinical investigation.

For the medical practice, our manuscript acts as a signal, despite only presenting three cases which feature the association between hepatocytolysis, haemolysis and hypermagnesaemia. This clinical-biologic triad was highlighted with the workers who through the nature of their profession were exposing themselves periodically to vapours which contained copper sulphate neutralised with calcium hydroxide, a fungicide used for fruit trees. We are exclusively assessing the haematological perturbation. In this aetiological context, the generating mechanism for haemolysis is very probable biochemical, where hypercupraemia interferes with cellular antioxidant defence mechanisms. Hypothetically, the role of the redox homeostasis disorder in the intravascular destruction of erythrocytes is sustained, and particularly the coexistence of cell cytolysis in the medullary erythroid compartment, which can be assimilated with a possible ineffective erythropoiesis.

The study analyses the significance of the plasmatic values of the OPN dosed to 91 people suffering from diastolic cardiac dysfunction with preserved ejection fraction, thus revealing significant growths of its level compared to the normal value. Despite being a clinical research, its conclusions are a breakthrough, differing from the results of other studies published in the relevant medical literature. We can make this assertion because this study analyses the clinical information given by the circulating values of the OPN, based on experimental models (animals), or on patients with congestive heart failure, which can be identified with the existence of a low systolic flow. The results of our study allow us to assert that the plasmatic values of this glycoprotein lead to its acceptance in the medical practice as a new biomarker that provides indicators regarding the stratification of risk with the patients suffering from heart failure of the diastolic dysfunction type, but whose systolic flow is preserved.

This study addresses two objectives: first to innovate, through utilizing an analyzer designed by one of us to design the bioelectric potential of blood whose value can be used for screening patients and healthy subjects; and secondly, to develop a novel diagnosis method. To date, there is no known method of determining the electric potential of blood. The method we propose is useful for determining the general functional state of the body, and it could indirectly indicate whether a specific organ is affected. This type of screening could be useful as an early diagnosis method. Future applications also include screening animals or plants. If a certain threshold is met, further investigations could be employed and thus an early diagnosis established before a disease becomes chronic.

The study on a subset of 208 patients with diastolic dysfunction with the ejection fraction preserved discusses the possibility of circulating CRP levels to be accepted as a diagnostic marker. In order to carry out a comparative analysis of the significance of hsCRP serum values, the study also included a subgroup labeled as control, consisting of the same number of patients, but diagnosed only with painful chronic ischemic cardiopathy - a stable form of angina pectoris. The conclusion of the study is that the circulating level of hs-CRP can be accepted as a diagnostic marker for both ischemic cardiopathy and diastolic dysfunction with preserved ejection fraction. The result, corroborated with data from other studies that recognize the serum concentration of hs-CRP as a predictor marker in cardiovascular disease, supports its usefulness as a marker for cardiac insufficiency with a history of ischemic cardiopathy, without being a marker for assessing the degree of myocardial contract...

This article presents experimental measurements performed in order to connect a neuronal cell culture to an exoprosthesis. The experiments focused on the biosignals� acquisition from the cell culture. A special gold-plated glass plate device was realized and several constructive variants were analyzed. A Olympus microscope with fluorescence and photo system was used. The acquisition of bio signals from the neuron culture is realized and described in the paper. The measurements were made in the sterile environment within the laboratory of Institute of Cellular Biology and Pathology. The measurements have been made for the pair of electrodes 1-1 at the edge of the glass plate.

The determined values of paraoxonase-1 serum concentration in 91 patients with cardiac insufficiency with a preserved ejection fraction with etiology of ischemic cardiopathy showed that this as an antioxidant enzyme may be accepted as a diagnostic biomarker, the assessment of the response to therapy, but also risk in this condition. Reporting circulating values of isozyme to the sex of patients revealed a very good correlation for males, which would confer PON1 specificity of sex to such a condition.

Knowledge of antibiotic resistance mechanisms is absolutely necessary to successfully fight against multi-resistant bacteria, the solutions to this issue being a direct consequence of understanding the mechanisms underlying its occurrence. Considering that in Romania more than 92.3% of patients have been receiving antimicrobial prophylaxis in surgery for more than one day, and empirical therapy is very common, the increasing antibiotic resistance is an important problem. The present study looks at serum concentration levels of myeloperoxidase (MPO) and high-sensibility C Reactive Protein (hs-PCR) concentrations in 91 patients who presented thoracic pain localised on the sub-clavicular left side, which bothered them several times a day, where an episode lasted up to 30 minutes. Additional preclinical investigations revealed normal resting state/effort electrocardiograms, and the cardiac ultrasound revealed a diastolic cardiac dysfunction with a conserved ejection fraction. The conclusion of our study is that undertaking the exploratory tetrad (electrocardiogram, echocardiogram, serum dosage of MPO and hs-PCR) in patients who present anterior left pain, regardless of the degree of intensity, allows stratifying risks, at least through early detection of an existent diastolic cardiac dysfunction with conserved ejection fraction, which recommends changes in diet and lifestyle along with therapy.

The justification for choosing and this enzyme marker to investigate the variation in serum concentration is supported by at least two arguments: cytokine myeloperoxidase at the level of the hypocritical myocardium, with or without contractile deficiency, can be secreted by any type of component or resident in the myocardium In cardiac failure, one of the forms that responds to the oxidative stress existing in the disease is MPO secretion that occurs early after some authors even during Class I contractile myocardial deficiency (NYHA classification).

There is a principle similar to the theory of exchange in the marketing of health services, meaning that what is delivered to the target market (i.e. the beneficiaries) must be equal to or greater than what is to be received (i.e. the price). The price level in the marketing mix is influenced by how the consumer perceives the respective medical service and is quantified in the profit and the turnover of the organization respectively. The cost of the medical act as a whole is the value of all the tangible and intangible variables associated with it, and the planning, distribution and promotion of the product must be taken into account in the price setting.
