Sardara is a small sardinian municipality, in the district (province) of Medio Campidano.
The recovery of the recorded history and its identity has been the pillar of a cultural project related to the so-called "domestic tourism" of Sardinia, oriented to innovation and quality system, integrated to the new era of thermal and spa tourism.
The archaeological site of Sant'Anastasia with the nuragic temple, the archaeological museum, the Monreale castle and the old town center (with churches, distinctive architecture and monuments) shows the different perspectives of human passage and his works from the past centuries till Pinuccio Scioli’s contemporary art.
In 2005 the Italian Touring Club awarded Sardara with the «Orange Flag» that selects and certifies the small inland towns based on rigorous touristic and environmental parameters.
Sardara (first municipality in Sardinia) has decided to update the certification of its public cultural heritage system through the Herity certification system (2012).
Over the years Sardara launched strategies in order to improve the quality of the cultural offer.
Since 1998 the museum is endowed with a tactile pattern for blind people that is used also for schools educational aims.
