Prowl #347

Prowl loves his job. With his incredibly acute senses and built-in radar system, Prowl scours the battlefields for those in need of aid, Autobot, Mini-Con, or human. Decepticons... well, he has a weapon mode ready to "save" them.

He has an uncanny gift for his work, and his skill at observation has saved many a life. And he makes sure others know that, too. He likes to work in examples of his skills and exploits into casual conversation, and wants recognition for them. No physical rewards, just people lauding him a bit. He's very confident, so confident that occasionally he seems unable to recognize mistakes he might have made. Nobody questions his dedication to saving lives, and his deeds do largely match his words. They just wish he'd be a little less proud of himself over it.

Sometimes Prowl is in the Accident Recovery Mini-Con Team.

If it exists, I'll find it.

—Prowl's bio quote.

Prowl was one of the many Mini-Cons who gathered on Earth in preparation for the trip back to Cybertron and the battle with the chaos-bringer Unicron. Presumably, he joined Over-Run at the Loop, where the Mini-Cons channeled their energies through the Mini-Con Matrix and dealt the fatal blow to Unicron. The End

In Aurex 606.0 Kappa, the Emergency Team successfully aided Red Alert, Longarm, Smokescreen, and Jolt in a battle against the Decepticons Landslide, Drench, and Wind Sheer. Afterwards, however, Unicron suddenly abducted Red Alert and Firebot. Ask Vector Prime, 2015/09/14

Vector Prime, surprised that his human audience in Quadwal had heard of the X-Dimension Mini-Cons, named a orange version of Prowl as a member of the Accident Recovery Mini-Con Team in his listing of the ten X-Dimension teams. Ask Vector Prime, 2015/07/11

Toys

Armada

Arm-toy EmergencyTeam-Prowl.jpg
  • Emergency Mini-Con Team (Basic, 2003)
Armada Prowl transforms into a Cybertronic police car. He also has a third "weapon mode" transformation, becoming a pistol that can be held by any toy that uses 5mm accessory-pegs.
As a Mini-Con, he has a "Powerlinx" socket on the underside of his vehicle mode that allows him to attach to larger toys with compatible Powerlinx plugs, activating special gimmicks on the larger toys when attached to a "live" plug.
He was normally only available in a three-pack with his teammates Firebot and Makeshift. In the Hasbro line, the Adventure Team were released in the fifth assortment of Mini-Con teams. In Japan, it was part of the eighth wave of Legend of the Microns product, released in September 2003. Aside from packaging, there are no noteworthy differences between the two releases.
This mold was also used to make Kingbolt, Energon Groove, Cybertron Quasar, and Checkpoint.

This toy was later repurposed as Shattered Glass Nightstick.

  • Emergency Mini-Con Team (Basic, 2003)
As part of the seventh and final wave of Armada Mini-Cons, the Emergency Team was given a redeco (without a new team name as previous redecoed teams had) under the "Unicron Battles" subline imprint. Prowl was decoed as an homage to Generation 1 Smokescreen, in a mainly blue and red scheme with "38" tampographed on his car-mode hood... marking the beginning of the eleventy-million Generation 1 Smokescreen homages to come in the following decade.

  • Stockade & Magna Stampede with Prowl & Terradive (Ultra, 2004)
Prowl was redecoed for the 2003 Universe toyline, in a scheme very similar to Kingbolt, but darker and less saturated.
He was only available as part of an Ultra-sized multi-pack along with Magna Stampede, Stockade, and Terradive, released in the third "official" wave of the line (Universe has a few ".5" half-waves, which ultimately put this pack in the fifth set of Ultra releases, yes it's confusing).

Notes

  • In the Armada episode "Tactician", Prowl was erroneously colored green, leading some to believe it was Dune Runner that appeared.
