Not Even Jared Kushner Can make "Mideast Peace"

It sure must be nice to be so adored and respected by one's father-in-law, especially when he's a powerful wheeler dealer, reality TV star and recently elected President of the United States. But it sure shows how little Donald Trump really understands about the situation out here in the heart of Judea/Samaria aka "disputed territories," when he so blithely states:
JARED KUSHNER WILL 'BROKER MIDEAST PEACE' FOR THE WHITE HOUSE
In an interview with the Times of London, Trump said that Kushner, Ivanka Trump's husband, would to take on the task of negotiating peace between Israelis and Palestinians– an appointment Trump has previously floated due to the fact that Kushner "knows the region, knows the people, knows the players," Trump described in a previous interview. (Jerusalem Post)
It's not that Trump is an idiot, it really must be remembered that he was elected on a platform that emphasised the needs and desires of ordinary Americans and he didn't show any great interest in international affairs or claims that he would fix the world. That is one of the reasons that he attracted so much support.

I don't consider Kushner to be an idiot either. Remember that in business, sometimes you have to admit that a business plan must be cancelled, because it just won't work. In the building/project development business, which both Trump and Kushner understand and excel, there may be some underlying topographical or logistical problems discovered that just can't be fixed or would cost so much that the project would be neither viable nor profitable. In those cases, a wise and experienced businessman goes onto other projects, and I hope and pray that the Trump-Kushner team will realize that this "Mideast peace project" must be scrapped.

I hope that Kushner stays busy solving the problems Americans who voted for Trump, and others, are really concerned about, truly affordable healthcare and enough jobs with incomes one can live on.

98 to 1, The Senate Versus Obama

Has there ever been an American President so hated by the legislature?

The American Senate has just voted their distrust in Barack Hussein Obama:
US Senate Overwhelmingly Passes Bill Giving Congress Oversight of Iran DealJNS.org The U.S. Senate on Thursday overwhelmingly passed the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act of 2015, which would give Congress a 30-day period to review a final nuclear deal between Iran and world powers, in a 98-1 vote.
A few months ago, against Obama's wishes, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was invited to address the joint-congress. Obama and his cronies threw fits and threats, because as far as he is concerned, Bibi is his enemy. Netanyahu did speak, and contrary to threats of boycotts, most everyone attended. The cheering for what he said in his speech was overwhelming.

The subject of Netanyahu's speech was the threat of a nuclear Iran, and obviously Americans have taken his warnings very seriously. It's clear that they do not trust they do not trust the judgement of their President Barack Hussein Obama.

Americans must remember that Obama can get his way and bypass congress by "Executive Orders," which he has taken advantage of. Obama and Congress are playing a "tit for tat." I wonder how long the Congress Iran Oversight bill will sit on his desk before he signs it, if he signs it.

The tensions between Obama and Bibi aren't a secret. They come from very different backgrounds and world views. What's amazing is how much support Bibi has in the upper echelons of the American legislature.

I think that the American public supports and trusts Obama more than the legislature does. Most Americans do not have a clue nor they care about nuclear dangers, enemy countries, how outsourcing and importing are weakening the economy etc. They choose their President on issues like "same-sex marriage" and "it's time there was a woman/black/etc as President." Those opinions have nothing to do with security or economy.

At this point, the American Senate and Congress are on a much higher level than the people and the President, but no doubt that soon more and more simplistic, photogenic candidates will will by promoting the same sort of meaningless slogans like the "hope" that got Obama into the White House.

Dry Bones, I Expected A Different Punch Line

Ya'akov, I was certain that you'd have something about Israel, building in the Judea and Samaria or our defending ourselves. I didn't think of the economy at all.

Actually, I wonder how many people do, unless they are personally affected.

Most, in this very credit card world, can avoid reality. The banks are happy to extend credit, for a price. Many people will discover that their "home equity loans" have to be paid back by taking out more, and the bank owns their home plus.

It's only when the bank refuses more loans that people realize how poor they really are.

Big Fish In Small Pond

Who's that "big fish?"

Someone is flexing his muscles, and I'd really like to know who, or what group of super-wealthy people have shown that they can control the stock market.
Israel is in "pre-election season." The political parties are meeting and "primarying," vying for top positions on the party election lists.
Our economy is relatively stronger than the United States, though it's hard for me to figure out why. One idea I have is that the birthrate in Israel is much higher, especially among the educated and middle class.
Recently, with all the high profile celebrity babies, having kids is more "in." But in the 1970's fewer women, according to statistics, had children. That means that percentage-wise the US is missing a strong work-production population in their thirties right now. At the same time, the babyboomers are retiring, and many still have parents alive and needing care. Some of these "boomers" are "sandwiches," trying to help their children, grandchildren and parents, but many others are the last in their line. When they're elderly, there won't be any kids to assist them.
OK, so that's part of the American problem, but who's manipulating the Israeli economy?
