No Tricks Only Treats - Treat Box DTC #112...

It's time for another Decorate to Celebrate Anything Goes Challenge and I'm in Halloween-Goodies mode! The kids and I made popcorn balls this weekend and now I'm packing boxes for some very special kids!

Here's a look at the box I made using the We R Memory Keepers Box Punch Board (yes, I could do this with my Cricut but the Punch Board is sooooo much faster AND easier!)

-----------------------------------------------
Here are some close-ups...LOVE the addition of the black glittery spider web cut with my Cricut and the Black Enamel Stars and paper are from the Scaredy Cat Collection!

--------------------------------------------------------------

In order to keep the box functional...meaning the recipient doesn't tear all this crafty goodness to pieces trying to get it open, I only adhered the banner to one side of the closure flap...

We hope you'll play along with this week's challenge...remember, anything goes except when making a card, make it 3D or something SPECIAL!!!

Decorating for Back to School...

It's time for another DTC (Decorate to Celebrate) Challenge!!!

I'm sharing a "Back to School Supply Cake" that is the perfect decoration for any teacher's classroom!

I don't really have "instructions" other than the base of the cake (behind the boxes of markers) is a 5" diameter tin that has erasers, glue sticks and lots of other tiny supplies in it. The top jar is about 3-1/2" in diameter and is just sitting on top of the tin (not adhered in any way) with some measuring tape tied around it.

Tiny strips of cardstock (1" x 3" are scored down the middle at 1-1/2" and adhered to the crayons and markers much like a hinge to keep the boxes together. I didn't want to do anything more permanent than this so these supplies would actually be usable.

The Elmer's Glue bottles and mini-composition books are just sitting there...not adhered at all.

Supplies:
  • Crayola Makers (10 count) - 4 packages
  • Crayola Crayons (24 count) - 7 packages
  • Yellow NO. 2 Pencils - 24
  • Elmer's Glue - 4 bottles
  • Mini Composition Books - 12
  • Erasers, glue sticks, post-its, etc. (not shown)
  • 2 jars/tin cans - one measuring about 5" diameter and one about 3-1/2"
  • Wide Ribbon - about 3 feet (depends on how big you want your bow)
  • Paper Shreds
  • Strips of Cardstock (to adhere the boxes of crayons and markers together)
Thanks for stopping by!!! Please take a moment to visit the DTC Blog and see what the other girls have to share!

Teacher Basket - DTC #108...

Welcome to the Decorate  to Celebrate Challenge #108....

School is back in session and I'm DECORATING my son's teacher's room with this little Back To School Celebratory gift...hehehehehe.

We always go to "Meet the Teacher" a few days before school starts. I like this for a couple of reasons, one of the being that it makes the 1st day a little less awkward for the kids since they've already met their teacher...another reason being that I get to scope out the Teacher's Room and see how she decorates...what color scheme does she have...what's her style. This year's teacher LOVES grays and teals so I made her this little basket....

-------------------------------------------
Both of the gifts were super simple to do but this box of crayons was the simplest...literally took me 15 minutes. I bought a bunch of Crayola 24-count crayon boxes (I think 4 fit in this jar), emptied them in then tied a ribbon around. I thought about labeling it somehow but decided not to so she can do whatever she wants with it later.
-----------------------------------------------------
My next "gift" was this marquis D from Heidi Swapp! I've been soooooo wanting to do some of these for my scrap studio but haven't had the time. After doing this one little letter, I'm definitely hooked...I'm not scrambling to think of a 4 or 5 letter word that will fit on the fireplace in my studio.
----------------------------------------------------
I used CTMH Basic Fundamental Cardstock in Slate for the D and then used the teal heart washi to add a little somethin-somethin to the outside and inside of the D. I love how it turned out and so did she!

Thanks for stopping by!!! Don't forget to go visit the DTC Blog and see what the other DT girls did for Challenge #108 Anything Goes! You can link up too if you'd like!!!

Christmas in July - mini album...

Welcome to another week of Decorate to Celebrate anything goes challenges!

I've been working on some Christmas in July items so I thought I would make this tiny (measure 3x6 when open) mini album! I'm a firm believer that grandparents LOVE photos of their grandchildren...well, all family members do for that matter!

I used the NEW Owl-idays stamp set from Craftin Desert Divas (available Friday) and some retired CTMH paper.

---------------------------------------
The photo on the left was made with my Rhonna Designs app and printed...LOVE being able to print my decorated photos! I left the right side blank so I could journal or add another embellishment or sentiment!

-----------------------------------------------
I used the NEW OWL-idays stamp set (available Friday) from Craftin Desert Divas...isn't that owl the CUTEST!!! The sequins are also part of some NEW packets that will be release Friday!
----------------------------------------------
The photo on the left was printed from my Instagram Photos and the one of the right was using my Rhonna Designs app...

----------------------------------------------
Photo on the right was the out-takes from our "photo shoot"...used RD again. The page on the right is a flip flap from CTMH (tiny little thing)...filled it with sequins from the Craft Desert Divas Release...
------------------------------------------------
Here's a peek underneath the flip flap...another picture of the kids at the Christmas Tree Farm!. The wooden camera is from Frosted Designs!

Please head over to the DTC Blog and check out all the other projects! Also...PLEASE consider playing along with our anything goes challenge! You can make anything you want...we ask that if you make a card, make it with a special fold or 3D or something!

Box Full of Sunshine Teacher Gift...

I always have grand plans for Teachers' Gifts but it usually never happens the way I envision it!

I mean...these are the people that have my children more than I do during the week so I love to show my appreciation, but I usually end up not starting 'till the day before I want to give it then it's a rush-rush type of thing.

This year, I saw a "Box full of Sunshine" on Pinterest and thought that would the perfect thing to CELEBRATE another year down the tubes!

-----------------------------------------
I did throw some non-yellow things in there - but they are things that would be some SHINE to my face if I were to receive them...like this Chick-fil-A Gift Card...decorated with their mascot, a cow, from the Simply MOOvelous Stamp Set from Craftin' Desert Divas!

If school isn't out yet in your part of the world, I hope you'll consider making a Box Full of Sunshine to CELEBRATE Teachers and their Summer!!!

Don't forget to link up your project to the DECORATE TO CELEBRATE Blog under Challenge #102! We absolutely LOVE to see all of your projects!

You can follow my BACK TO SCHOOL Board if you're interested in keeping up with what inspires me!

1st Birthday Party with DTC #99...

It's time for another Decorate to Celebrate Challenge...

I'm sharing my son's 1st Birthday Party...centered around some super cute frogs!!! The thing I love about the 1st and 2nd Birthdays is that the parents can choose whatever theme they want because the kids are too little to know any better!

These are SUPER SIMPLE goodie bags I made using circles cut on my Cricut adhered together and then adhered on the front of a white lunch bag. I cut the bottom of the face circle so that it would sit flat on the table. The party hats are super cheap hats from the dollar store and I decorated with stamped circles and added their names to the circle (you can see Clara's a little better than Jake's)

----------------------------------------------------
Here's is my son's hat and his cupcake...
-------------------------------------------------------
And...here's the photo almost every parent has...lol

Thanks for stopping by...I hope I've inspired you to make you own birthday decorations...it's amazing how something so simple can turn out so cute!

Be sure to head on over to the DTC Challenge #99 and see what the other girls made!

Table Monogram - Decorate to Celebrate #97...

It's time again for another Decorate to Celebrate Challenge!!! Remember...anything goes except any cards need to be 3D or special folds!

I am showcasing a Table Monogram! These would be great to have sitting on the gift table of a party or shower or in among some snack bowls!

---------------------------------------------------
The good thing about this particular style of monogram is that the wood is pretty thick so it will stand up by itself...paint all the edges if you'd like or leave 'raw'...you can also distress by sanding off the paint on the edges or by adding darker paint along the edges...the possibilities are endless! And...we all know that Monograms are so popular right now!!!
-------------------------------------------------------
I used Mod Podge to adhere the paper to the wood and I was even able to add some metal conchos in the bottom right without the paper lifting too much!

Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget to go check out last month's WINNERS (some pretty awesome projects!) and play along with Challenge #97!

Luck of the Irish - DTC #96...

Welcome to this week's DECORATE TO CELEBRATE (DTC) Challenge!

One of the best things about CELEBRATING is making your own shirts to match the PARTY THEME!!!

Here's a picture tutorial (you can click on any photo to view it larger) for those visual learners and here's what you need:
  • T-shirt or onesie (the onesie I had lying around and it had a stain on it right about the place I put the shamrock (so...see it's a recycle project too!))
  • Material (Z1819 Chantilly Textiles)
  • Heat n Bond
  • Scissors
  • Iron & Ironing Board (or other hard surface)
  • Shamrock SVG or Hearts to weld together like I did
The Artiste Cricut Cartridge didn't have a 'shamrock' image so I made my own using the Club and multiple hearts.  This picture shows that I cut 4 hearts...that's because I couldn't decide if I wanted it to be a four-leaf clover or a three-leaf...

Don't forget to check out the other DT Members and everything they've created!!!
