Mother's Day Cake...

Each year my children's school does a fundraiser where they sell cakes for you child to decorate for Mother's Day. I look forward to this each year because my children get to be creative AND the cake is yummy!

I wanted to make this layout using the Scrapping Everyday Miracles July Sketch so the pictures would be the focus of the layout...

Be-YOU-tiful with Frosted Designs Friday Challenge...

It's time for another Friday Challenge over at the Frosted Designs Blog!!!

This week's challenge is PINK so let your imagination run wild! I've waited SO LONG to be able to use Pink on my layouts (on a regular basis that is) and now that I can, I often find myself drawn toward the more masculine colors...the ones I was forced to use for all the years it was just me and a bunch of BOYS!

Here's a one-page layout I did of my daughter and I last Summer...I love how tight she's squeezing my neck! Being a mom of boys most of my life, it's been hard to get hugs such as these past a certain age...it becomes awkward or they become too cool or they smell sweaty and gross...whatever the reason is for the hug-lacking, I hope SHE doesn't ever tire of hugging me as tight as she did in this photo!

Blowing Kisses with Frosted Designs...

I'm soooo excited!!!

This is my FIRST post as a FROSTED DESIGNS Design Team Member! I'm a member of the Friday Challenges DT and this week's challenge is...
I chose to use an arrow overlay as my background...because we all know arrows tell you what DIRECTION to go!

I embellished with some of Frosted Designs wonderful products!

---------------------------------------------
Here's a closeup of my watercolor piece and the wood veneers I used from the FD Store...those little hearts are to die for! My daughter was almost 1 and was learning to blow kisses! My husband worked out of town at the time so we were headed to see him for the weekend. I hand wrote "kisses" with an acid-free marker then fussy cut around the letters. I typed up the journalling and printed using this little handy tip.

------------------------------------------------------
I hope you can see the dimension...something I {{{love}}} to add to all my projects BUT I don't like to put too much so my pages still fit nicely in my Albums
-------------------------------------------------------
I used a date stamp from Heidi  Swapp...LOVE that thing but it's gonna take some practice..I'm so used to clear stamps and acrylic blocks...lol

Thank you so much for stopping by and seeing my little corner of the world!

I hope you'll take the time to visit the Frosted Designs Store and see all the goodies they have! And...don't forget to head over to the FD Blog and check out the other DT Members and what they've created for their What Direction Friday Challenge...I promise you will be AMAZED!!!

Products Used:
Frosted Designs: Elle's Studio - Love You More Wood Veneers & Heidi Swapp - Hello Today Puffy Glitter Alpha Stickers

Be YOU & Smile...

I had some free time the other day and I knew I wanted to create a layout! I've been stuck on cards since they're much easier to whip out!

I used a sketch from Stuck on U Sketches (SOUS)...I love the big circle, the columns of paper and the clusters of embellishments that this layout allows.

--------------------------------------
I used Studio J to create this layout using a retiring paper packet, Ariana!  All the sentiments are from the Ariana Complements...the GREAT thing about using these in Studio J is that you can crop and resize to fit your layout...can't do that in real life!

I just LOVE this kid!!!  His smile is one of the happiest I have ever seen!

This layout challenge will be open 'till the 31st so head on over to SOUS Challenges and link up your layout!

Begin your Summer Recycle with UYSBH...

This month's UYSBH (Use Your Stash Blog Hop) is all about recycling!!!

If you've come from the very talented, Wendy Kessler, then you're well on your way to being amazed by all the recycling and reusing!

I have PLENTY to recycle and reuse in my scrapbook room but this little heart box that my daughter has colored on has been calling me.  It wanted to be pretty so I decided to dress it up with the retiring Ariana Paper Packet!

------------------------------------
Here she is all pretty...

------------------------------
And...there's a little surprise inside...

---------------------------------
And...the "shreds" inside are also recycled...they're made from tiny 1/4" strips of Ariana B&T...our husbands KNOW that we have TONS of scraps laying around our scrapbook rooms!

Thanks for hopping by...you can hop on over to Shirley's Blog now and see what she's done with something we all have around the house and a bunch of BLING!!!!

I am the Lord...

Welcome to July, and our new New Heart Design Team's first reveal.

Our theme for this challenge is Create / Creation using this verse:

Isaiah 45:18
For this is what the LORD says— He who created the heavens, He is God; He who fashioned and made the earth, He founded it; He did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited— He says: “I am the LORD, and there is no other."

You may apply this theme in any way you can imagine, create anything you want to, a layout, card, journal page, off the page project, anything. You have until July 17th to post your entry on your blog and link back to the NH Challenge!

Here's what I did with the challenge...

------------------------------
Here'a a peek at the inside as well as some detail on the front...
------------------------------
I think there is such power in the Lord's statement here...it would make a perfect sympathy card or a card for someone that needs to know the Lord is on their side...stop looking for wordly things to calm them and realize that there is only one God, pray without ceasing and he will ease your pain!

Circus SOTM Blog Hop...

Welcome to this month's SOTM Blog Hop featuring artwork from over 40 CTMH Consultants!

If you've come from Mary's Blog, you're on the right track...keep hopping around 'till you get back to where you started!

This stamp set is so versatile and CUTE...who doesn't love a good alphabet stamp set...and a doodle one at that!

I chose to make a card using the soon to be retired Ariana...it's MY FAVORITE!!!

--------------------------
Here is a close-up of the flowers I cut from another piece of B&T...it just adds that extra dimension when you're working with floral B&T...

------------------------------
Here is a peek at the bottom part and the scored frame...something as simple as scoring a square around your card can add extra dimension as well...
---------------------------------
Here's how I did the muted hearts...took a piece of hearts that I cut for a project I will be sharing next week and some White Daisy Ink and a sponge dauber and sponged away...
-------------------------------------
Here's what the inside looks like...another flower cut from an extra piece of B&T...

Thanks for stopping by...don't forget to get your hands on this stamp set by the end of July!  And...don't forget that there are tons of products being discontinued!  You'll have 'till July 31st to get your hands on all your favorites then they are gone forever!

Now hop on over to my friend, Haley's Blog and see what she has to share!

Baby Girl Ariana Card...

I needed a baby card for a close family friend who is having a baby girl.  The baby's nursery is going to be a little shabby chic and CTMH's Ariana paper screams Shabby Chic...to me!

I also knew I wanted to use Jen's Deconstructed Sketch No. 143...

 -------------------------------------
Here's my take on the sketch...

 -----------------------------------------
Here's a side view and a peek at the inside...I used Perfect Fit-Frames (each shape from this stamp set goes with a frame cut by using Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge - you can get FREE if you sign up to be a CTMH Consultant in April...ask me more!!!) and a CTMH retired stamp set, Sweet Baby.

 -----------------------------------------
I also lined an envelope for the mother-to-be...this picture doesn't show it but I used one of the zip strips from the B&T to add along the bottom of the flap.

 ------------------------------------------
And...here's the inside using the sentiment from one of CTMH's Retired Stamp Sets, Baby Impressions...

Here's a look at the CTMH products I used...

I've had this embossed piece of Lagoon Cardstock laying on my table since I first got my NEW Quatrefoil Embossing Folder.  It's been BEGGING me to use it so that's exactly what I did.  Coupled with some Skylark B&T and some Ariana B&T, it's now where it belongs!
-----------------------------------
Just like this card, I inked up the embossed image using Pansy Purple Ink (retired)...
-----------------------------------
Here's a side view and a peek at the inside.  I used one of my favorite stamps from CTMH created just for me since I'm always late at sending out Birthday Wishes...Belated Birthday.

Thanks for stopping by!  Don't forget to hop on over to Gina's Blog to see what she has to show off!

Ariana - Me & You - SG Blog Hop...

Welcome to the Scrapbook Generation Blog Hop for March, if this is your first stop, you might like to start at the Scrapbook Generation Blog and then hop through each link.

This hop features layout sketches by SG...you can either purchase bundles or use one of their FREE sketches!  I chose to use the Feb II One-Page Sketch for only 49-cents...a GREAT deal if you ask me!

Here's my take on the sketch...I used CTMH's Ariana Paper Packet and Complements...I also used my NEW favorite stamp set, Hopscotch Alphabet...love the funkiness of it!  The actual page shape is cut using CTMH's Art Philosophy Cartridge...just in time for H2H's scrapbooking challenge!

You can find the SG sketches in their books and as downloads in the SG store, and there is a free one every month in case you wanted to try it out.

Next on the hop is Stephanie.

Be sure leave a comment on each blog and one lucky commenter will receive a free sketch bundle of their choice from the store. The winner will be drawn on Monday, March 10th, so you have one week to leave a comment.
