Technique Blog Hop - Stenciling...

HAPPY Chocolate Candy-Hangover Day! It's February 15th which means it's time for another TECHNIQUE BLOG hop with some of my CTMH Sisters!

It's a small hop and it's about STUNNING STENCILS!!!

Let's recap how this works....if you've come from Haley the Inky Scrapper Blog, you're on the right track...keep hopping around until you get back to where you started. If you're starting here, WELCOME!

I decided to pull some EXCLUSIVE stencils from my Rewards Your Way products to create this pretty slimline card! By using three inks (Rosemary, Shortbread, and Papaya), I was able to create this sponged card front with a simple sentiment from the Chantilly Sticker Sheet...

----------------------------------------------------
I love how the inks blended into each other. Since these aren't Distress Oxide Inks, I was a little worried at how they would blend but they did so beautifully. And that sticker sentiment keeps the focus on the STUNNING STENCIL....

Thanks for stopping by! Your next stop is Melissa's Blog (which also happens to be there very front of the line AND has a complete list of blogs in case you missed one along the way).

Chantilly Blog Hop...

HAPPY THURSDAY, Blogger world...I'm excited to bring you some artwork featuring a throwback for CHANTILLY!

I am joining a small group of Makers who LOVE this collection as much as I do. It's a round-robin hop so if you're joining me from Kim's Blog, you're in the right spot. Keep hopping around until you get back to where you started. If you're starting here, WELCOME!

I kept it simple, using my FAVORITE patterned paper from the collection and coordinating cardstock panel cut with the Rectangle Stitched Thin Cut. The sentiment comes from the Just Because Thin Cut (retired) to break up all the cardstock at the top, I used a couple of stickers from the Chantilly Sticker Sheet with a tiny piece of Copper Ore Paper (it goes PERFECTLY with the Chantilly Collection)...

Thanks for stopping by! Hop on over to Darlys's Blog to see what she has to share!

SG Blog Hop

Welcome to the Scrapbook Generation Blog Hop for June. If this is your first stop, you might like to start at the Scrapbook Generation blog and then hop through each link.
You can find the SG sketches in their books and as downloads in the SG store, and there is a free one every month in case you wanted to try it out.

I chose to use March 2014 2-page layout...only 49-cents!!!!
---------------------------------------------
I flipped the layout (left to right) so my pictures would flow better.  I used CTMH's retired Chantilly Paper Packet so I could use their NEW Chantilly PML (Picture My Life) cards!  I cut all my shapes using CTMH's Artbooking Cricut Collection.  I added some Black Glitter Paper for a dark contrast and a little sparkle!  Let me tell you...this Glitter Paper cuts smoother than any glitter paper I've ever cut! (you can click on the photo to see it larger)
----------------------------------------------
Here's a look at the left-hand layout...see that cute little PML card in the center "Happy girls are the Prettiest"...isn't that the truth!

-----------------------------------------
Here's the right-hand layout...
I just love how baby's hands work...something we take for granted is such a great feat for them!

Next on the hop is Tina's Blog, leave a comment on each blog and one lucky commenter will receive a FREE sketch bundle of their choice from the store. The winner will be drawn on Monday, June 9th which leaves you one week to leave a comment.

In case you get lost at any point, here is the list all the blogs

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you will head over to the SG Blog and grab some of their FREE Sketches or find one you like for super cheap!

Frosted Baby Girl...

My computer is "sick" so I have a bunch of posts that have been in 'draft mode' for quite a while so I thought I'd share them with you while I wait for my computer.

This card SCREAMS all the things I love which is the theme for this week's H2H Challenge, A Few of my Favorite Things!

Here are my FAVORITE things about this card:
  • This card is made using two paper packets, Frosted and Chantilly...if you've been a reader for a while, you know how I {{{heart}}} using multiple paper packets!  I threw in some Baby Pink cardstock (retired) as well.
  • It also has TWINE which is one of my all-time favorite things...it's so delicate and manipulative.
  • This card has some STAMPING on it...you'd be surprised how little stamping I do these days!!!
  • This card uses my new ALL-TIME favorite thing...CTMH ARTBOOKING CRICUT COLLECTION!!!!
-------------------------------
The picture below shows the "girl" at an angle so you can see how painting it with Pearl Paint changed the color of the "Frosted Grey" to a girlier color...

I cut the image out of Frosted Grey and Colonial White then carefully cut out "girl" and layered on top.

here are the images I used...

Mix & Mingle with H2H...

It's time for Team Sunset to ROCK H2H!!!  I'm back for another term as a Design Team Member for H2H Challenges!  I couldn't be happier because I get to start this term doing something I've LOVED for years...mixing B&T from different CTMH Paper Packets!  In fact, one of the years I taught at Extravaganza, all my artwork sent to Corporate was mixing Paper Packets...they ended up renaming my class "From Color Know How to Color WOW!"

We will be Mixing and Mingling by using either three different paper packs and/or three different stamp sets. Coordinating paper, ink, and stamps is one of Close To My Heart's strong points. Whether a paper packet is current or several years old, the colors will coordinate beautifully.

Here's my card using three different paper packets (all returning in the NEW Idea Book)...For Always, Chantilly & Surf's Up!  Three TOTALLY DIFFERENT Paper Packets but they all seem to "mingle" nicely (hahahaha...like my pun?!?!).

Here are some close-ups...I used Chantilly Complements Dimensional Elements for the sentiment "Wonderful"...

And here are some close-ups of the wonderful hand-cut pennants which I left the bottoms un-adhered for more dimension...

And...here's the small detail on the inside...
------------------------------------
So...what are you waiting for?  Grab some Paper Packets and start mixing!

Want to see my inspiration piece for this card?  Click here to see it pinned on my "Cards" Board over at Pinterest!

H2H Egg-Cited for Easter...

Is everyone ready for Easter?

We are at our house!

Not only is it a time for us, as Christians, to celebrate the ONLY FREE THING IN LIFE, which is Salvation, but this week is very BUSY for our family!  We have birthdays, playoff soccer games, days off and CELEBRATIONS!

H2H is celebrating too by featuring a very "Egg-Cited for Easter" challenge...

Here's my take on the challenge...a 6x6 canvas using the CTMH Cricut Artiste and Chantilly Textiles...I stitched around him much like I do my hand-made onesies and made him eyes, a nose and some whiskers with some black thread!

Here are some closeups...

----------------------------------
I thought about adding a "cotton tail" but didn't like anything I put up there...see one of my options below.

Don't forget...you have 'till the 31st to play along with any of the March challenges AND you have 'till the end of the month to do these things in order to be in a drawing to win your very own Chantilly Textiles!

Chantilly Layout Workshop...

My girls and I met last weekend to do some scrapping and we played with Chantilly

They were able make these four layouts with LOTS leftover for as low as $32 (that included tax and shipping).

-----------------------------------
I loved working with the Chantilly Complements Dimensional Elements...we popped them off the page using 3D Foam Tape and added some Pink Glitter Gems here and there for some sparkle!

---------------------------------------
The bottom shape on the left was cut using the Artiste Cartridge - I also used the negative that was left over on this H2H CAS Challenge Card...
-------------------------------
Again...LOVE those Chantilly Complements Dimensional Elements!!!

--------------------------------------
My girls also LOVED working with the Hollyhock Zipper Lace - we used Liquid Glass on the teeth of the zipper to adhere it to the page....my {{{favorite stuff}}}

If you'd like the cutting diagram for these layouts, simple go to my website and order $25 worth of product (before shipping and tax) and I will e-mail you the pdf....easy as that!

Thanks for stopping by!

CAS and H2H...

This week's H2H Challenge is keeping it Clean and Simple (CAS)...

In order to keep my feet to the fire and not go in the direction I usually do, I thought a 10-minute challenge would be FUN!  I've been seeing some of the bloggers do 10-minute challenges - where they only have 10 minutes to complete a project - and I thought 'I can do this'!

Here's a snapshot of my phone's timer...

Here's where I stopped...still had time left in fact

Here's what I was able to complete.  I didn't even get out scissors, etc. before starting the clock...just had my Chantilly Paper Packet with accessories in front of me!

The inside, however, was done AFTER the 10 minutes :0(

Remember...you have 'till this Saturday, March 2nd to submit your artwork for any of the February Challenges:
Thanks for playing along with us this month...we always enjoy seeing your creations and your take on our Challenges!
