Signs of protest

 Residents of the Esch in Rotterdam are protesting because exactly where there is now a piece of nature reserve the Municipality wants to build a bridge over the Nieuwe Maas to relieve the adjacent Brienenoord bridge. Add up all those little pieces and you have nothing left at all.

Viewpoint the Nes

 Viewpoint the Nes along the New Maas in Rotterdam here looked along the Buiten Bassinweg and the header the skyline on the other side. The bollards in the water are parking bollards for the large barges (think with a length of 60 to 110 m) that take cargoes in the port for destinations in Europe and have to wait their turn.

Using an old Windows laptop

 I miss my mac quite a bit but it seems to be ready tomorrow. That's why I took this picture of the toilet in a restaurant in Rotterdam where I was yesterday on the occasion of the rooftop days. Some more pictures of this in the coming days.

Drinking coffee

 The former police station on the Eendrachtsplein Rotterdam is now converted into a new hotspot for coffee called Heilige Boontjes. (Translated Holy Beans). One for Weekend Street/Reflections here.

Rotterdam's newest addition

 At the end of this street you can see the Zalmhaven tower 1 designed by Dam architects with a height of 203 m where the flagpole adds another 12 m. It is the tallest building in the Netherlands and therefore also the tallest residential building. Preparation time took 15 years and construction started in 2018. Completion April 22 this year. There is also Zalmhaven tower II and III designed by Kaan Architects but not so high .
