Pretty Wooden Block with Words

Hi Everyone. I trust that you all stayed safe from Storm Doris as it really was a rough couple of days, but this morning it is beautiful sunshine here in Ayrshire, even my miniature Rhododendron is flowering profusely, never had it flower in February before.
Today I am showing a plain wooden block that I made in to a little word saying block. after giving it two coats of Decoart Chalky finish paint I used Decoart Crackle medium to get some crackling. Then the fun part was preparing my paper napkins for putting on to the sides along with words that I found made a difference to my friend when she was struggling.  Of course I stamped the words on to tissue paper as well before adhering them on to the block.  I finished it off with some flowers I made with Heartfelt Creations stamps and dies, and added a little wooden heart.  Hope you like what I;ve done as I am entering it into A Vintage Journey where this months challenge is Words.   See you all Soon.  Hugs Rita xxx

Christmas Card Club. Challenge 4. Snowy Mountains and Skies

Hello Everyone.  It really is amazing where 2 weeks have gone since our last challenge, but here in Ayrshire it has been really nice Spring weather, so no complaints here.
This week at the CCC it is my dear friend Kates Challenge and she chose Snowy Mountains.  This time round I have done two cards as The first one did not turn out as expected., I tried my new Prima pencils instead of my usual Faber-Castell  and maybe I should have practiced some more before attempting a card, but hey ho that is the things that are sent to try us. So I then did a second card , one of my favourite images, sadly it is not Scotland, but beautiful Switzerland as I found out after I put the heather on the card.  So Kate I hope you like my cards for your Challenge this fortnight.  Please visit the rest of the team , the links are on my side bar.  Enjoy your Day and the evenings are getting brighter too.  Hugs Rita xxxx

Male Birthday Card

Here I am again to show the Birthday card I made for my eldest Grandchild Garry.  I tell you now I really am quite a novice at making male cards, I prefer Bows, Flowers and Glitz.   But I did enjoy making this one, apart from it being special. I used my new set of 8 x 8 embossing folders and did a bit of smudging here and there before putting the card together. Using the clock as a time machine and a few bits and pieces to represent where does time go as Garry is our eldest Grandchild.   I proceeded to use Imagination Crafts Rusty Patina and Verdigris along with Alchemy waxes to give it an aged effect. some hessian and cardboard and the sentiments added, and my card was finished.  I have to say, I am pleased with the finished result. Hope you enjoy seeing my finished card. Garry loved his card too.
