Merry Christmas and a Happy & Prosperous New Year

Merry Christmas

Good Morning to CCC and Friends in the Crafting Community. I’d just like to apologise for my absence from CCC and my Blog in the last few months. I have been struggling with anxiety and my mental health, but now I am in a better place, saying that not been in my craft room / sewing room much at all. But hopefully I will change that in the New Year at some point. I’d like to take this chance to Thank Everyone for all the Happy Times we shared. So Enjoy your Festive Season with Friends and Family and I will make an effort to join you again in the New Year.  Merry Christmas and Prosperous New Year. Happy Crafting. Hugs Rita xxxx

Christmas Card Club. Challenge 17. Blue Christmas.

Morning Everyone. Hope you have all had a good week. I am in Derby as we speak, travelling home later today actually. The theme for today’s challenge is Blue Christmas chosen by Gran Margaret. I was busy getting organised for a wedding in Worksop so my card was done very quickly with not a lot of effort at all. It was from a paper pad that I bought a few years ago, matted on a white card with blue tartan paper and then the image. It is certainly flat for posting. Looking forward to seeing the makes from the lovely ladies in this group. Hugs Rita xxxxx.

Christmas Card Club. Challenge 16: Christmas Roses.

Good Morning Everyone.  After a 5 month break from everything crafty, I made a decision to give things another try. My health has had a few ups and downs over the last years and in April I broke a bone in my foot so going upstairs to my Craft Room was not an option. Todays card was chosen by the Lovely Valery-Anne and she would like to see Christmas Roses on our cards.   So my card is a very simple one, but did enjoy making it The print is one from historic Scotland and was used during the war years for soldiers to send to their loved ones. I’ve added a wood embellishment to my finished card along with a Sentiment.  Looking forward to seeing what the other Ladies have done.  Love and Hugs as Always  Rita xxxx

Christmas Card Club. Challenge 5: Bells

Hello Everyone. Another 2 weeks have gone past and this time on the CCC the Theme is Bells. This time I’ve made an 8X8 white card and matted it with a white and gold backing paper, then white card edged with gold and to that I added my Gold Bells, years old by Tattered Lace. The sentiment was computer generated and I also edged the card with gold. Like most people all over the world my thoughts and prayers are with the Ukraine at the terrible things happening in their country. Hugs Rita xxxxx

Congratulations Card.

Hi Folks. Hope you are all enjoying some nice Spring weather of late. It makes such a difference after the storms etc. I had a lovely day last Friday at my daughter Annies along with Astrid McLean and started a journal. I really enjoyed the day, but time flies in with the Journaling but will take some pictures of what I’ve done so far. Todays card was made for my Grand-Daughter who is in her 2nd year at Glasgow School of Art. She had her first exhibition last month and sold her first work. It is decoupaged but in pictures it’s hard to see. The family and myself were at the opening and enjoyed it all. Hugs Rita xxxx

Male Birthday Card.

Morning Folks. Well it’s been a wild week here with gales and rain. Damage to fences are all around, but Thankfully mine is ok.  Anyway it meant I’ve had time in my Craft Room. So todays card was a quick decoupage card as I nearly forgot a birthday.  All the cards in my box are female cards, oh dear, need to make some cards for men. Anyway this was from a decoupage sheet from years ago of a very ancient jalopy. I’m actually doing a junk journal at the moment and thoroughly enjoying the process. I’ll take some pictures of what I’ve done so far and post them at the week-end. Keep safe and well. Hugs Rita xxxx.

Christmas Card Club. Theme is Penguins.

Well after such a wild and worrying week for lots of people my heart goes out to those who suffered damage and in some cases death. Luckily it didn’t hit us much at all, plenty of rain though.  Anyway, on to todays Challenge that was chosen by Valerie-Anne and she would love to see Penguins. So I only had one Penguin stamp and it was very small. So I stamped it 4 times on a strip of white card and fussy cut them down to halfway. I coloured them in using water colours added some sparkling snow and set it aside till I made up the main card. My base card is 8 X 8 white card and I added A Matt of navy then an embossed dots piece plus some Sue Wilson trees, then the penguins and finished it off with some beautiful icicles that I had in my stash. Sentiment was part of Sue Wilson die. The Penguins are having fun now.  Please stay Safe and Warm my Friends.

Floral Anniversary Card

Good Morning Folks. Well, here in Ayrshire it’s certainly not very good, it’s Wet, Windy and Miserable outside, but inside I’m Cosy and Warm.  My card today was made for my Grand-Daughters Anniversary. I thought I’d do a DL card for this one. My base card is White with Navy matted before I used a Sue Wilson die to add the Sentiment. I made a few Cabbage Roses to add a little colour and interest too. Got a few cards to make so I’ll be crafting today as well. Keep Safe and Warm. Hugs Rita xxx

Christmas Card Club. Theme is Christmas Gifts or Bags

Good Morning Everyone. Isn’t this weather just awful, with Storms , Snow, Sleet and Rain. Then all the household bill set to rise this year too. Thank Goodness for Crafting Folks.  Our Challenge this week was chosen by Lorraine and she would love to see some Christmas gifts or Bags.  So for this Challenge I’ve chosen a Box with a matching Card. I made the 4X4 box using wine card for the base and gold for the lid. Using a hexagon die I cut out the centre of a square in gold and using the Tim Holtz poinsettia die I cut out in vellum and coloured with various inks. Strung the bells and hung them over the poinsettia so they would ring when lifted. The foliage was part of my stash. The card was really made from the leftovers of the box. I was in my element Lorraine making things from scratch and using up bits and pieces on my desk.. Hope everyone is well. Hugs Rita xxxx

Card for Lots of Occasions

Good Morning Everyone. Hope you are all staying safe during this inclement weather. Lots of storms here in Scotland over the last few days. However, I have been clearing out my Craft room ready for the year ahead, but keep finding things I’d forgotten I had, so it’s taking me longer than I first thought. Anyway, here is a card that I thought might do for lots of different occasions. The stamps are from Crafty Roo and I used water colour paints on the flowers. Plain and Simple and I love the sentiment too.  Hope you are all staying safe and enjoying some crafty time. Hugs Rita xxx

Christmas Card Club. Challenge 2. The True Meaning of Christmas.

Good Morning Everyone. The weather here in Scotland this week has been Beautiful, lots of Sunshine, but very fresh and cold. Snowdrops are starting to show their little white heads, so Spring is on its way.  Our CCC this time has been chosen by the lovely Christine and she would like to see on our cards The True Meaning of Christmas. So when I was youngster my favourite Hymn was Away in a Manger and it still remains one of my favourite’s favourites. So I have made two cards using the same stamp. The first one is 8 X8 and was made stamped on white card . The second one I thought maybe would be nice on blue card embossed with silver, and I used a stencil to do some stars in the sky, but I think it’s just a bit overdone, but I decided to go ahead and make a card. So Thank You Christine for choosing this theme.  Hope you are all still taking care and looking after yourselves. Hugs Rita xxxx

Baby Boy Card

Good Evening All. Hope you are all keeping well. This is the card I made for my first Great Grand-Son Aidan James. He was born on the 28th December after his Mummy spent her birthday delivering him. It’s great the happiness a new little person can bring in to your life.
