My DH had a significant birthday last week and for it my parents had this painting done of our cocker spaniel Roxy! The artist John Bulter has captured her personality perfectly. And on the sewing front I have completed some more houses - still have lots to go though!!

Dartmoor
Ive not managed to do any sewing this weekend as Ive been entertaining my nephews on a camping weekend at the River Dart Country Park on Dartmoor. They had a great time in the adventure playground and on pirate lake (yes it has a huge wooden pirate ship in the middle of it!) Anyway back to the sewing next weekend.

Garden Party
While trawling various blogs, I came across 'Don't look now! at http://www.dontlooknow.typepad.com/ and absolutely fell in love with her quilts! Kellie the designer lives in Australia. I tried to find an outlet for the patterns in the UK, but wasn't able to, so ordered from her shop at http://www.dontlooknow.bigcartel.com/ and received the pattern within a few days (excellent turn around). I can't wait to start - this is why I never finish what I start, there is always a new project that draws me in! Anyway this one is going to be for my DH's new grand-daughter Isabella.

Tilda House Quilt
Here is another house! I've just realised it needs some french knots in the centre of the flowers and I think a tiny button on the door. But I'm still loving it.
I'm also looking forward to buying pink fabric for a baby girl quilt - My DH's son and daughter in law have just had a daughter - Isabella. So there is great excitement in our house at present!
I think I might sign up for Kate's 'little quilt challenge'. The last one was great fun and its always good to have more than one project on the go. (Can you tell my resolve to not start anything new until I had finished some of my UFOs has long gone!!!) You can see Kate's new challenge on http://www.katesquilting.blogspot.com/
