Flower in my Pocket...

...or purse, or backpack!  I made a notebook with QKD's April release stamp, Four-Eyed Flower" by artist Sandra Caldwell.
I colored the image with Copics, added some shine with Liquid Glass and Stickles, and then fussy-cut it out.
I made the notebook card base by cutting a piece of patterned paper to size in order to wrap around a dollar store notepad of paper.  I used a QKD background stamp called "Butterfly Writings" and stamped it onto the patterned paper in spots.
After adhering the notebook to the back, I folded the two sides toward the front and popped Sandra's image onto the front flap.
I added a few flower sequins and a yellow ribbon bow, but it still needed something.  Then I found this great strip of gold lace border and stuck it on to the edge and voila!  I'm finished with my project!
Here's a photo of the inside of my notebook.
Like what you see?  Then go on over to the Shoppe and check out all the April stamps and digi's!!  There's a lot of fun to be had!

A Blue Caged Heart

Hi, everyone!  Beth here again, with another card featuring the Caged Heart stamp by Micah Carmichael.  Have you checked it (and all the other new releases) out yet?  If not, what are you waiting for?  Go check 'em out!

I love that the Queen is now offering digital stamps, since they give you the great option of controlling the size of the image - and you don't have to find space for them in your scrap closet!

Last time, I colored the stamp in black and white.   This time around, the image is in full color, with some great floral embellishments.

That is all for me today!  Thanks so much for visiting!  I'll see you again next week!

I colored her with colored pencils and OMS.  The DPs are from my stash. I printed out a typical southern saying to go on this card.  She's pretty sassy if I must say so.

If you haven't checked out the new releases at the store, please do so.  You will be surprised.  Thanks for stopping by QKD today.  Have a great weekend.

Little Old Fairy

Here's an adorable image from Queen Kat stamps artist Sandra Caldwell called Little Old Fairy.  Too Cute!  I had to give this little old lady some blue hair to match her little blue wings and put her on a blue card.  She may look harmless, but as you can see, she's Spirited and Strong!

Be sure and check out all of Sandra Caldwell's newest images at the Queen Kat store.  They are now selling images in both rubber stamp and digi-stamp format.

A Blossom for Mom

April is quickly winding down, and before you know it, Mother's Day will be here!  So I made a Mom's Day card for my own mom, who turned 80 at the end of March.

I colored a QKD April release called "Just Breathe"  by artist   Nora Blansett.  I used my trusty Copics and a Sakura twinkle gel pen.  I then framed it in dark gray, popped it onto some leftover patterned paper, then framed that in grey again.

I had some leftover patterned paper with the word mom printed out in several variations, which worked perfectly with my image.  Do you color an image and then search for coordinating papers and embellishments?  Or do you find some paper and embellies and then color the image to coordinate with them?  I used to color a bunch of images, then hunt for an hour to match them up with papers, etc.  Now it's much easier to find my paper and then color the images.

I used a lovely handmade flower I received from my crafting friend, Shannon.  Other embellies include the lace, sequins, ribbon rose and jewel.  To finish off my card, I inked the edges.  I hope you like this look!

And if you like Nora's image, you can find it and many others in the SHOPPE.  Need some inspiration?  Check out the QKD Facebook page!!

Happy Mushrooms

Happy Monday!  Emily here with a card that showcases Coriander Shea's Happy Mushrooms.  I was supposed to post this on Friday, but the weekend got away from me very quickly this week.  I'm sorry for  being so late with this one,  but it's here now.

Aren't these little guys too cute?  I love those little critters peeking out from behind the stem of the mushrooms.  I used BIC markers and Glitter pens to color in the images before die cutting them with Nestabilities.

Hop on over to the store and pick up this cute little stamp and make your own little critter card.

Thanks for looking today.  Have a wonderful week.

Sarah's Butterflies

Hello, my crafty friends!  It's Beth here, and I hope you are having a great weekend!  Since it's Sunday, I get to share a new card with you guys.  This is another that features the beautiful Sarah's Butterflies stamp by Nora Blansett.

This time around I went for a lighter color scheme for the image and the card overall.  The image is colored with Prismacolor pencils and layered on some lovely Pink Paislee papers.

I finished it off with some ribbon and a Tim Holtz embellishment as the sentiment (I hate that it doesn't photograph very clearly).

Be sure to go get your hands on your own Sarah's Butterflies digi from the Queen Kat Designs Store!

Thanks so much for having a look!  See you again soon!

Something For The Pain?

Happy Wednesday everyone Janie here with you today to share my version of  Naughty Nurse by Terrell Dorfeo. I really love this image, I truly enjoyed working with it. This time I gave my nurse a red ombre and I think she is definitely sexy...

Instead of making her outfit in white and red I made it in my favorite color blue and I think it turned out stunning. What do you think?

Isn't she stunning? Thanks Terrel for all your hard work creating this beauty. Thank you everyone for stopping by today.

Have an awesome week

Bloomin' Bookmark

Hello, crafters!  Today I have a pretty bookmark using Sandra Caldwell's April release "Four-eyed Flower".  I thought this glasses-wearing posy would look great in a book.  I used a magnetic bookmark base from Stampin Up and created an ATC-sized card base that fits well on the magnet.

I kept my embellishments to a minimum so that it would lay flat in the books I read.  I love mysteries by Joann Fluke and Carol Higgins Clark, as well as biographies and the witty writings of Carl Hiasson.  But my all-time favorite books are The Stand by Stephen King, The Number of the Beast by Robert Heinlein, and The Crystal Singer trilogy by Anne McCaffrey.

Do you have a favorite book you like to read more than once?  If so, Four-Eyed Flower would look perfect on a bookmark!!  Or you could make a card with Sandra's image and put it with a book to give to a friend!  For her image, and the rest of the new releases this month, check out the Shoppe.  There's nothing like some new images to make your day bloom!

Project Materials:  Cardstock (Bazzil Swiss, Neenah);  DigiStamp(Queen Kat); DieCutters(Xcut,Memory Box); Flower (Prima); Brad (Unknown); Saying (Kraftin' Kimmie); Ink (Colorbox Chalk); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue All, Glue Dots); Color (Copic Markers);

Caged Heart

Happy Sunday, stampers!  Beth here with a card featuring the great Caged Heart stamp by Micah Carmichael.

When I saw the image, I immediately thought of a tattoo.  I wanted to make the whole thing resemble a black and gray tattoo, with a vibrant red heart.   I colored it with a Prismacolor pencils, and then matted it on a bit of of light cardstock.

I added on some black flowers to embellish the card.  I love quick and simple cards sometimes, and that's just what this one end up being!

This stamp is one of the huge selection of digital stamps that is now available from Queen Kat Designs.  If you haven't checked them out, you absolutely should!  They're so much fun to work with!

Have a great week, and I'll see you again next Sunday!

Princess of Cats by Sarah Waterfield

Queen Kat Designs Stamp Co.

It's Saturday again and time for another image by Queen Kat ( and there are dozens of fabulous ones). This week I used PRINCESS OF CATS by Sarah Waterfield.

I didn't want to use purple, pink or turquoise this week, so I went to another part of the colourwheel. The background is made with Dylusions Ink and TCW templates. The flowers are made with Spellbinders cutting dies. After cutting the flowers I spritzed them with a little water and then curled all the petals. This gives the flower a grungy look after drying.
The image was printed on cardstock and coloured with colouring pencils.

have a fab weekend

TGIF

Hello there.  Emily here with a card using a very pretty image from Regan Kubecek called Picking Hearts.   This is one of the new digis that we are offering in the store now.  It seems that everyone is getting into the digi stamp arena and QKD was not going to be left out.

Isn't she cute?  I used my BIC markers to color her in and added some Sakura glitter pen for highlights.  I used my colored pencils to do the background.  I added some DP from DCWV that had a woodsy whimsical feel to it.  The sentiment is from my stash and I added some ribbon and bling to finish it off.

Take a jump on over to Kat Stamps.com and check out the newest products and great sales going on.  Have a wonderful weekend

Changes

Good Morning Everyone! So great to see you today. I would like to share a card that I created with an image drawn by Nora Blansett: I created this card by: 1) Using shiny card stock and streaking it with momento inks in silver, copper and a shimmering white. 2) Printed out my image and did just a bit of coloring with my metallic pens and inks. 3) Used bling from the Tim Holtz line and a bit of glitter card stock on the bottom. Although, you can't see much of the DSP it is full of gears. You can see more of Nora's line at the Queen Kat Design store or by clicking HERE Have a great day and I will be seeing you soon. SueH.

Meow?

Happy Wednesday everyone Janie here with you. I am going to share my card with you featuring a digi stamp by Melia Newman called Blackberry Fae Cat... Is she ever cute when I say her I new just what to do with her. I modeled the kitty after my cat Sugar who is black and white and she roughly weighs about 30 lbs to boot. So the Blackberry's are a great way to camouflage her indiscretion so to speak ;) While I was coloring the image I was called in it Lord of The Grape and my 10 year old son did not like that considering Sugar is his cat and she is a girl heheheh

Anyway without further ado here she is in the immortal words of Sugar "MEOW?"

Isn't she cute? I just love the Kitty's adorable face.... I would like to thank you for stopping by today and thank you for taking a look at the card. Have an awesome day

Hugs

Just Breathe! by Nora Blansett

Queen Kat Designs has expanded their line to include digital images!  I am so happy because a crafter has a lot more options with digi's than with rubber, although rubber can never be replaced in my mind.

In order to show you one of the benefits from working with digi's, I made a stair step card using an April new release called "Just Breathe by artist Nora Blansett.  It is perfect for showcasing digital images!!

I printed the image several times in three different sizes.  After I made my step card base, I colored all the flowers with my trusty Copics.  On the back face of my card, I used one 3x5 sized image.  The middle "step"   uses two wallet sized prints, and the front of the card uses four of the smallest prints I can get using Microsoft Windows Picture Manager.

Once the flower images were in place, I embellished the dark blue background, first with inking the edges with white ink, and then adhering some flourish diecuts and pearls for a fantastical "night sky in the garden" look.  I had a leftover metal charm from Tim Holtz Ideology which reads, "Reality has limits. Imagination is boundless."  It was the perfect sentiment to go with my use of Nora's flowers!  Using her digi's, in fact any digi's, erases any boundaries you might have with a stamped image, as you can see above!

A couple silk ribbon roses and a few more pearls and my card is complete.  It can be folded flat for mailing, and then stood up for presentation.  I love the look of this, and plan to give it to my neighbor, who is a Shakespeare fan and loves the play, "A Midsummer Night's Dream".  I like to think that my garden of flowers would fit right in with the fairies and flowers that Shakespeare dreamed up.

Go check out Nors'as newest release, Just Breathe in the SHOPPE.  While you're there, look at all the wonderful stamps and digi's and tear down those crafting boundaries with some inspiration from Queen Kat Designs.  Happy crafting!!

Little Old Fairy

Here's an adorable Little Old Fairy stamp from Queen Kat artist Sandra Caldwell.  Isn't she cute?  I just love her!  I added a cool ribbon/lace combo underneath her in a wavy form.  I also had to add a fun sentiment "Live, Laugh, Love."  At her age, I think she knows that is the way to live your life!!

I just love the Sandra Caldwell stamps at Queen Kat.  Be sure to check out her newly released images.

Cheers, Holley

Thinking of You

Good morning, stampers!  I've got a card for you today that features Nora Blansett's "Sarah's Butterflies" stamp.  This is one of the great new digital stamps that are available from the Queen Kat Designs store.  I have worked with Nora's stamps a bunch over my time here on the Court, and I think that this one is my absolute favorite of them.

I colored her with Prismacolor pencils and then lightly inked the background so that the paper wasn't so bright white.

Then, I layered the image on some bright paper and adhered it onto a blank, corrugated card.  I added some great, sunny ribbon for a little more spring-y brightness.

To finish it all up, I added some K & Company stickers for the sentiment.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  See you next Sunday!

x Beth

This week I printed my image larger than usually and used it in my art journal. The background is made with dylusions ink and stamps. To re create the clouds i used some modeling paste. For the final touch I added a few pieces of washi tape. The quote was found on the intenet and is by M. Gandhi.

The Serpent

Good Morning Everyone! Love this sunlight in the morning. Here is a card where I combined a few different techniques to create THE SERPENT. So here she is: The artist who made the design is Maryanne English. Her stamps can be found at Queens Kat Designs or simply click HERE. I made the card as follows: 1) Stamped image using Momento Ink because I printed on Shiney Card stock for part of the design (tail). 2) Used the shiny cardstock and my alcohol inks to create her tail. This gives you such a great blending effect. 3) Stamped design again and used pastels, metallic ink, markers and glitter pens to complete her look. 4) Paper is from Queens Kat Designs, except for the solids that are from my leftover Stampin up stock. 5) Decorations: Stole from a flower arrangement for the seaweed and purple leaf. Used real shells that I gathered at the beach and finally a ships wheel with a rhinestone and a few more in the corner for luck. I hope you like my design and the possibilities are endless as to what you could do with her! Have a wonderful day and see you soon. sue H.

This Won't Hurt................

Happy Wednesday everyone. Today I am going to show you a funky fabulous pin up style image by an awesome artist. This month I have the privilege to work with Naughty Nurse by Terrell Dorfeo. Oh My Gosh is she ever naughty... When I was coloring her my 10 year old son saw her from a distance and asked me why I was coloring a stripper on a pole... Like I said naughty... I had to come close to him to show him she was not a stripper hehehehe.

I colored her using copics and some pencil crayons as well.  I used Carta Bella's Paris girl collection for my card I hope you enjoy her as much as I did in making her. She is definitely super fun. Thanks Terrel for such an awesome image..

So how would you feel about receiving a shot from her hmmmm???? I love it... I am so glad you stopped by today and I hope you have a fabulous week.

Hugs

gOOD mORNING, sPRING!

Here in Chicago, the crocuses are a tad shy, trying to pop their heads up out of the recently-frozen earth.  Spring is here, but the weather is not playing nice to us, so a pretty card with a Spring feel is what was on my mind as I colored this cute image by Sandra Caldwell.  It's called "Four-Eyed Flower" and it perfectly suits my mood for my flowers to pop their heads up and smile at me.

I used a diecut card base in lavender, and then placed my Copic-colored image on it.  Some jewels and flowers (I do miss my blossoms) embellish my card.  The sentiment, Birthday Bliss, is a beautiful piece I received in a swap from a fellow crafter.

My family is full of Spring birthdays, so I think I'll make a few of these to pass around in the next couple of months.  The image is so cheering, and I can make them in all different colors, too.  Do you like my Four-Eyed Flower?  It's available at the Shoppe, along with all the April new releases from QKD!

Tea and Cake, Please

Here's a wonderful new Queen Kat stamp from artist Maryanne English.  This image will go on sale very soon.  She's called Tea and Cake.  So pretty.  I added a fun vellum sentiment to go with her "This is the sweet life."   All I can say is, "YUM!"
Be sure and check out Maryanne English's other wonder images at the Queen Kat store, I just love the beautiful ladies she draws.

Cheers, Holley
