RESUMO
ABSTRACT
Due to the current need of energy transition to renewables, this work
presents a location study for the installation of a power plant based
on concentrated solar power (CSP) in the municipality of Pato Branco,
located in southwestern Paraná, Brazil. Restrictive criteria were applied
to remove environmental preservation areas and high economic interest
areas. Positive indicators were combined to identify the suitability of the
available land. To normalize different qualitative and quantitative criteria,
the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) — a multicriteria decision-making
method widely used in location studies — was used. Some suitable
areas for the set-up of CSP collectors were found, and we suggest that
hybrid CSP-biomass plants would be installed, so that the resources
available can be used to their fullest.
