Thanksgiving

Nem sei bem o que dizer. Ja passou tanto tempo e tantas coisas desde o ultimo post. Ja pensei em acabar com o blog porque ja nao fazia sentido. Nao sei se vai fazer de novo. Mas enquanto me decido sinto que tenho imenso a agradecer. Primeiro a todas as pessoas que de uma maneira ou de outra contribuíram para poder fazer este voluntariado. E a todos os meus amigos que fizeram donativos ou compraram fotos estou ainda mais agradecida. Mas a verdade e que no geral estou grata por tudo o que aconteceu neste ano. Acho que nunca fui tao feliz! E estes últimos meses foram sem duvida muito, mesmo muito especiais. Estou a menos de três semanas de voltar a casa e ja sinto saudades de tudo. De fazer este caminho poeirento a caminho do trabalho, de fazer compras na mercearia da Gilda, de apanhar o autocarro ate Barranco ou Miraflores, de acordar com a campainha insuportável do homem do lixo, das minhas corridas junto ao mar, das aulas de yoga aos domingos de manha, e claro de todas as pessoas que conheci. Dos abraços apertados da Lucy, das empanadas da Carmen, das palavras sabias da Laura, dos sorrisos de todas as mulheres com quem convivi diariamente. Uma estadia tao maravilhosa so poderia terminar da melhor maneira possível: com uma visita a Machu Picchu. Não se esqueçam de passar pelo Pacific Diary para verem mais fotos!

I don't even know where to start. So many things happened since the last time I posted something here. I thought about ending this blog because it just stopped making sense. I don't even know if it will ever make sense again. But while I make up my mind I just feel like I have a lot to thank for. First, to all the people that in a way or another helped me do this volunteer work. And to all my friends that contributed with donations and bought my photos online, I'm even more grateful. Well, truth be told I'm grateful for everything that's happened this year. I think I've never been happier! And these last months were really really special. In less than three  weeks I return home and I already miss everything. I miss walking this dusty road to work, I miss doing my groceries shopping at Gilda's store, I miss catching the bus to Barranco and Miraflores, of waking up with the sound of the garbage man passing by our street, I miss my runs along the ocean, the sunday morning yoga classes, and of course, I miss all the people that I've met. I miss Lucy's strong hugs, Carmen's empanadas, Laura's wise words, and the smiles of all the ladies with whom I've spent most of these days. Such  beautiful days that I've spent here could only end in the best way possible: with a trip to Machu Picchu. Don't forget to visit Pacific Diary to see more photos!
