There is a lot happening in the art world in the moment. For me Tom Swift is one of the upcoming artist to watch.You can see that Tom is a vintage lover. His work has a mid modern feeling and would look amazing in a vintage or mid modern home. Look out for his next exhibition.

Halloween

With Halloween approaching,  it's nice to see it is getting more popular here in the Netherlands.

Tomorrow morning we will get a pumpkin from the local market and do some pumpkin carving in the evening. I bet Mister Kay is very good in it.

Mollie Makes Animals & Friends

 

I really like the magazine Mollie Makes, so I was delighted when publisher De Fontein|Tirion offered me a copy of the new Mollie Makes Animals & Friends book.

The fox (vliegende vos) is my fav. I will ask my yarn shop to help me select the right wool.

Definitely a nice book and a great Christmas gift.

Cottoncake

 

I love the name Cottoncake. It's the name of  a small & cool concept store here in Amsterdam.

 

I promised myself  next time when I'm there I'll try some of their homemade cakes and coffee. The white & calm look of the shop is so relaxing.

Fall is a great season. This time of the year friends and neighbours always bring me lots of fruit, flowers and branches. Sometimes I'm not sure what to do with some of the goodies, so I make silly photos, lol.

Sunday Market

Baby, it's getting cold outside!

Nina Fuehrer  had a stall at the woonbeurs. Her knitwear collection is amazing. The DJ cap would be perfect for Nila but also her scarfs are amazing. Definitely someone to watch.

The last  couple of days have been crazy, so it was nice that we had a day off today.

 

I have  a new app for vintage lovers living in the Netherlands. The Vintage Detective. That makes vintage hunting very easy. Looking forward to try a new town.

Robert Bradford

I was so exited when Robert Bradford invited us to have a look in his studio in Herne Bay. My brother collects plastic toys and I have a large collection of robots, so I grew up with plastic toys everywhere.

It was amazing to see how Robert turns small plastic toys in to big art. Love his Rhino... which is going to live in a shopping mall in Shanghai.
