Beach Stroll

oil 9x12 inches For a closer look and purchase info click here. In May we camped for a few days at Moro Campground in Crystal Cove State Beach. I squeezed in a couple of paintings, this being the first. That wet sand color can be very illusive, but I'm happy with my color here. We'll have a high of 104 degrees here today. This beach scene looks pretty good!

Toy Tractor

oil 8x8 inches For a closer look and purchase info click here. The day I painted Shady Spot at Amy's Farm, I took some shots of this faded toy tractor. I toned my canvas with Thalo Red Rose and Indian Yellow, which I think helps to unify the scene.

The evening demonstration included a delicious dinner and an enthusiastic audience. They have invited me back next January to teach a three day workshop, and filled the workshop that evening! oil 6x6 inches For a closer look and purchase info click here. Not your usual mug, this flat sided cup came from Stash Tea Co. many years ago. My favorite part of this painting besides the complimentary color scheme is the half-submerged tea bag. That was fun to paint!

All Her Eggs In One Basket -SOLD

oil 12X12 inches For a closer look and purchase info click here. A friend gave me these lovely eggs from her backyard chickens so I could paint them. I added a couple of white ones. I worked on this piece over three sittings and enjoyed every minute. I wish you could see it in person. The camera did not pick up the color shifts in the eggs as subtly as they are conveyed in the painting. A serene piece that I'm very happy with. Thank you, Sandra Sue for sharing your eggs with me.

New Shoes For Charlie

oil 9x12 inches For a closer look and purchase info click here. In June some of my painting buddies and I painted out at a horse ranch in Rancho Cucamonga called Baker Scudder Farms. Charlie is my friend, Martha's horse and he happened to be getting new shoes that day, so he was reasonably stationary for our painting session. I used shots on my iPhone to paint the human who moved a LOT! Thanks to Martha, Baker Scudder Farms and Charlie too. It was a great morning painting with my buddies.
