Frosty Memo Board
Damn, the winter this year is just craaazy. It snowed most of yesterday and in the middle of the night (it really was after midnight) the temperature rose to 3 degree Celcius plus and the snow started melting. My car war nearly back to black this morning... and about 45 minutes ago it started snowing like mad again O__o
So, fitting the white Christmas atmosphere out of my window I have another frosty project to show today. It is a memo board, the snowflakes acting as pins, but at the moment it's just supposed to look good. The pins need rework, they are too fragile to do their job properly, sadly.
I couldn't resist using the Tim Holtz Alterations snowman again. It is such cute fellow *gg*. I colored him going by the tutorial Tim showed during the 12 tags of Christmas this year. I just left out the scarf. I don't have a ribbon which would work to my satisfaction :o(
As you can see, I used tons of icicles on this project as well. The pictures are once again beyond crappy, but I hope you can see them anyway for the beauties they are. they turned out much better than my first try on the bottle. It might be because they are considerably larger as well, don't know.
Anyway, I might have another thing to show later. Depends on the light when I finish it.

Shabby note board
I have so much an my to do list, but it was just too hot to do anything the last couple of weeks. One shouldn'b be sweating while sitting at the crafting table, that's just so wrong.
This week started out cooler (but that's already in the past again *sigh*) and I managed to meet a deadline with this note board:
I think this time I did get the shabby part of shabby chic right. I really like it and nearly hate to see it go *lol*. But the good thing is, I can do one for myself, so no need for me to be envious ;o)
And here a detail of the pins I made using shrink plastic. I couldn't convince my camera to properly focus on the right one, sorry for the blurry image.
I used shrink plastic for the first time and it really is a fun stuff to use, I love it. Mine shrinks a bit uneven though. You might see that the sunflower Tilda looks a bit bigger around the waist than the rest who all look a little too tall. Not sure why my shrink plastic does it, but depending on the direction you stamp the image on they turn out elongated or somewhat compressed.
Is this normal or should I get another brand of shrink plastic? Any experience anyone?
Anyway I am pretty happy with how this project turned out.
Stamps: Magnolia
Ink: StazOn black, Distress Ink Victorian Velvet
Coloring: Prismacolors
Flowers & pin: Wild Orchid Crafts
Lace: From stash (got it from ebay)
Other: Cork note board, white wood stain, white acrylic paint, Distress Crackle Paint in Picket Fence, Glimmer Mist Tattered Leather, pins

Allsorts Challenge #6 - "Wings"
This week I'm very, very, very late for Allsorts, but considering I couldn't start on this project before yesterday, because I had to finish the saving box for the Just Magnolia Monthly Challenge first (I couldn't start before that, because I was missing some vital items for this project) I think it turned out pretty good.
Okay, what do we have here now exactly? It's a bulletin board, roughly Din A4 in size. I painted the cork metallic green, which you can see really good in the second picture, but it's acutally not that flashy and glitzy. I left the frame raw, because I liked the look of it, but in hindsight I'm not sure I'd do it like this again. It's not that I hate it, but I don't love it either, don't know.
Originally I colored 4 Gorjuss Girls for this board, but ended up not using the 4th one, because she didn't fit in. I don't know what I was thinking when I colored her red/black/white, but anyway I'll use her for a card or something now that she is all colored and winged and all. Coloring 4 Gorjuss Girls and 4 pairs of wings, except for 2 pairs of wings all yesterday evening REALLY makes you wish for not being someone who can do her coloring best using Prismacolor. Copics or Promarkers would have been so much easier on my hand and wrist, I really thought it would just fall off *lol*.
I also dyed the flowers myself except for the small ones with the butterflies on them. Most of the brads are fake (actually all but the one in the upper left corner), made of bead caps, pearls and findings, but I think it came out pretty neat and you don't notice right away.
The flowers with the little butterflies on them are the pins, but you probably could guess ;o)
Stamps: Gorjuss
Ink: A lot... let's see. Memento in Tuxedo Black, Dandelion, Rose Bud, Danube Blue, Grape Gelly... I think that's it. Distress Ink in Broken China
Paper: white index card paper, printer paper
Coloring: Prismacolor and Polychromos
Embellishments: Lots and lots of Prima Flowers, pearls, beads, findings, bead caps and one real brad, butterfly sequins
Other: Butterfly wing cliparts from the internet, green metallic acrylic paint, Perfect Pearls, yellow and blue pigment powder and of course the bulletin board.
