Garden Daisy

I do love my Sugar Nellie stamps, but often stamp up my newest, neglecting the older ones, so I have stamped up a Kathy Hare image that I love but haven't used for a while.
This is Garden Daisy and I coloured her in using my promarkers, and then cut her out using my nesties labels.  The dp is Basic Grey Eva, and I embossed some cardstock using my flowers CB embossing folder and then punched the scalloped edge.  I added some organza ribbon and a Whimsy ticket sentiment.  The flowers are created using a Marianne Creatible die and some card candy.

 Challenges:
Sugar Bowl - sketch and pink
 I love Promarkers - embossing
Passion for Promarkers - bugs (ickle butterflies on the image)
Fab n Funky - shabby chic
PaperPlay challenge - for Mum

Right off to get the kids up and off to school and then work.  I'll be popping by your desks later.

A Quick WoW card

Its a glorious afternoon, and having spent the morning getting the car fixed, clothes shopping and having a coffee and natter with a friend, I have found just a little time to whip together a card!!!

O coloured this cute LOTV bear using my promarkers, and then cut him put using my nesties ... I deliberately chose a smaller size as I wanted the net and butterfly to be 'hanging' out if you see what I mean!!  I used a couple of embossing folders and some pink cardstock.  I tied knots in some ribbon and punched a butterfly, before adding pearls to its tummy.

Challenges:
Papertake Weekly - sketch
Passion for Promarkers - Bugs (I think butterflies count!)
Make it Monday - Anything Goes
Everybody-Art-Challenge - brown and pink

A tag for Less is More

What a lovely sunny day ... need to get the washing out on the line in a mo!!  I have been getting dirty fingers this morning, playing at making my own papers using inks.

I made this tag to go on my Mum's birthday present.  I used 3 shads of green ink and brayer and rubbed the ink on, starting from the lightest shade.  The fairy is from Lavinia, and the net lace and ribbon is from my stash.
It fits these challenges -
Less is More - sketch
Creative inspirations - Mum
Allsorts - For a Special Lady
One Stop Crafts - Angels and fairies

And a quick Christmas card ...
I used blue, eggplant and cool peri inks to distress the cardstock, having taped the snowflake template down.  I cut a snowflake out and covered it in glamour dust.  Finally I spritzed the paper with glimmer mist and added some glitter.  I used my GoKreate dies to create the shaped card.

Sugar Addicts Showcase Sunday ... and some candy

I was really flattered and honoured when Elaine asked me if I would like to be one of Sugar Nellie's Sugar Addicts ... as if I have many stamps from that fabby Scottish rubber company!!!

I made a couple of cards for Elaine to show ...

I used this stunning digi, Joy Sitting, and coloured her in using aquamarkers.  I used Basic Grey Wisteria and added some ribbon and flowers to finish her off.  I love Joy in soft, muted, almost vintagey colours, rather than bright colours.  She always reminds me of pictures of my Mum when she was little ... all the pics are sepia-ed, Mum being a war baby!!!

I have to confess to a HUGE soft spot for the Simply Sassy range (only 3 to buy ...eekkkK!!!).  I coloured Bedtime Snuggles in using my aquamarkers, don't you just love those bunny slippers?!  Now she looks fab in bright colours and I think this DCWV Pocketfull of Posies paper is great for her!  I used cerise cardstock and ric-rac, and f few gems ... flowers were a little over-powering!

And now for those of you with a sweet tooth ... some Sugar free candy to celebrate my Showcase ...

1 x Simply Sassy Luve a latte stamp
1x Manga Dress up games
1x promarker Spring set of pens
1x pack pink flat backed pearls
selection of pearls
selection of card candy
selection of ribbon (to be added!)

There are no silly rules for this candy, just add your link and post it on your blog.   If you want to follow my blog it is entirely up to you.  A comment might be nice, but again that is up to you.  The link will close on Sunday 10th April at midnight and I will draw the winner on Monday 11th April.

I had a fab time at the NEC ,, met Lols and Heather, and had a right natter.  Had a long coffee breakwith jaqui and Marlene ... and met Fleur, Jo and Lou for Basic Grey Challenges.   Ohhh and spent a little!!!

A few Lavinias, some LOTV, ink pads, pearls, House Mouse and card candy
...can't wait to play!!

It is a glorious morning here, and having played out in the sunshine, the little one I am minding has taken a well earned nap .. .so I got to finish a card and tick off a couple of challenges :)
I love the Kathy Hare Designs that Sugar Nellie have, particularly this one, Artist Betty.  Its a fab stamp for little girls who aren't too girly girl. I have made it for one of Ellie's friends who is 6 on Sunday.  After colouring her in using my pens, I cut her out and matted her onto the embossed cardstock.  I punched the daisy border and added the last piece of this gingham ribbon (need to look for more on Saturday:)).  The flowers are from my stash, and I added brads to the centres.

Pretty in pink (and green)

How long does it take to make a card ... particularly when you are ill????  I started colouring the image in for this card last Thursday ... and finally finished it this morning.

This is my Mum's birthday card ... her birthday is at the beginning of April (doh ... meant to put it on the sentiment before I took the photo!!)  I coloured the image using prisma pencils (my latest toy!).  The dp is My minds Eye and I used a Marianne Creatible die and a cuople of punches to create the flowers.  I added pearls to the centre of the flowers and down the side of one of the layers.

Magical Mondays Week 18

The challenge this week over at Magical Mondays is Shaped card ...
I used my new Go Kreate die shapes to cut out the card and the inner.  I brayered the background and then sponged the ink over to get shading.  I stamped the Lavinia fairy onto the card, and masked her, before stamping the bridge and stream.  I added stickled to the water, the fairy's wings and the edges of the card.
I need to practice the brayering bit ... still getting distinct lines on the paper.

I am entering this card into these challenges:
Cupcake Craft Challenge - monochromatic

Sunday offerings ...

I have spending some time playing with aquamarkers and my new prisma pencils ...

You may (or may not!!) have noticed that I have a bit of a soft spot for Sugar Nellie Simply Sassy stamps ... and am loving the latest set.  Here is Hippie Love ... is she adorable with that heart bunting and those flowers in her hair.  I coloured her using my aquamarkers and then matched her up with some DCWV Pocketfull of Posies paper.  Both the image and mat are cut out using my Go Kreate die.  I embossed the card blank using a CB flowers folder, and scored some lines top and bottom of the card.  I added some ribbon and bling to complete it.
It fits these challenges:
Charisma Cardz Challenge - To die for
Paperplay Challenge - embossing
One Stop Card Challenge - Diamonds are a girls best friend

Here is Spread your Wings, coloured using my prisma pencils (need to work on the shading and how much depth to put down!).  I distressed the background using my DI inks and then cut the image and mat out using my nesties.  I used more paper from the DCWV Pocketfull of Posies pad, and matted it onto golden yellow cardstock.  Finally I added a yellow ribbon and knot.

Less is More Wk 7

This week's Less is More challenge is masculine ... gulp!!!!  Now I have cutie stamps that I use for blokes' cards, but nothing sophisticated ... so I have gone for a very clean, minimal look!!!

Alot of resisting went on, I resisted embossing the white cardstock, I resisted adding more layers of cardstock, and I resisted adding a couple more buttons ... so it is really Less is More LOL!!
I didn't get round many people last week as Ellie has had gastroenteritis, so I am hoping to visit more this week.
As it has a button on it I am entering it into this week's Totally Papercrafts challenge, and Totally Gorguss Challenge.

I made this card a few days ago for the Sugar nellie Facebook challenge, but I haven't blogged it yet ...
I coloured Fairytale in using my aquamarkers and then matted her onto blue cardstock.  I embossed the white cardstock and added a panel of blue co-ordinating dp from DCWV Pocketfull of Posies.
I am entering this into this week's Paperplay embossing challenge.

My Basic Grey Challenge post is below ... if you have time check out the challenge.

I used this box that I had as part of a Christmas present last year ...
I painted it with as couple of layers of white primer paint and then decorated it.

I used this cute hAnglar image and coloured her using distress inks.  The image is distressed using vintage photo and Walnut stain.  I love Infuse papers, and used a mixture of 12x12" papers and 6x6" papers.  I matted them onto olive green cardstock.  The big ribbon was from ther same Christmas present (knew it would come in handy!!!)  Finally I added some teeny flat backed pearls.
I used another length of the ribbon to tie round the box ...
and then I filled it with white goodies ... wonder who they were for ... Ali!!!  Hope you are enjoying palying sweetie ... and only two and a half weeks until I subject you to the girls and hubby!!!!  Brace yourself!!!

I am entering this into these challenges:

DutchDare Card Challenge

This week's DutchDare Card challenge is a sketch challenge, created by my lovely teamy Dorcas.

Here is my take on it ...
I coloured this gorgeous Simply Sassy, Bella Bunting, using aquamarkers and then matted her onto green cardstock.  I had an idea to use my WOJ banner die to replicate the bunting across the squares ... not convinced it has worked as well as I would have liked.  I embossed the squares using my swiss dots folder and added some flat backed gems to finish.

A Sugar Nellie Sunday

I've been playing with a couple of my latest Sassys' from Sugar Nellie .. and my aquamarkers.
Here is Star Dust, coloured in aquamarkers.  I used my nesties to cut her out and then distressed the edge in DI chipped sapphire, before adding ice gold stickles.  The dp is Basic Grey Vagabond, and the flowers Prima hydragenas  which I have had for ages and just not used.  I added some navy organza ribbon and some flat backed pearls to the flower centres.  I used the sketch over at Friday Sketcher for the layout.

Here's my second Sassy ...Fabulous Darling.  I coloured her again using aquamarkers and then used my nesties to cut her and the mat out.  I ined the edges in cerise and starlight black inks and then stickled the edges.  I also stickled her leggings, bow and top of her dress.  The hair is pink thanks to me asking one of the girls what colour the hair should be.  The dp is BG Black tie and I used a Martha Stewart punch and some black velour ribbon.  I punched flowers and added black pearls.

Finally here is a CHristmas card using one of the Home Grown Mangas, Gingerbread.  This was my first attempt at colouring using aquamarkers .... I have got better I think!!  I used BG Figgy pudding and some red ribbon, and stickled the image.  This is for this week's FB Sundays for Santa challenge, gingerbread.
