Can You Handle the Pressure - Twist / Use a Sentiment

Hello Friends, thanks for stopping by today!

We have a new challenge starting today over on our new Can You Handle The Pressure Challenge Blog and the TWIST theme is ...

USE A SENTIMENT

Remember, the twist is optional but you MUST use an embossing folder on our projects to qualify for the prize.  Heat embossing is also permitted but only in conjunction with an embossing folder.

Here's what I've created to inspire you today.

For today's card, I have used the Lisa Horton 3D 'Sunflower' embossing folder on white card stock then colored ONE of the sunflowers which I had fussy cut from another embossed panel, using a combination of Tombow markers and Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks w/small finger sponges.  My sentiment is a Tutti Designs 'Hello' die set.

Wood Block Wednesday

Hello Friends

Amy Tsuruta has her Woodblock Wednesday challenge up and running and I've been trying to join in each month as it gives me the opportunity to play with all my old wooden block stamps which don't get the love they deserve since clear stamps came about.

As a lot of you know, my good friend and crafting buddy Doni High (Lime Green Giggles) passed away in May.  I was thrilled when her family offered her stamps & dies to me to continue using in honor of my good friend.  This is one of the few wooden block stamps she had in her stash.  She had LOTS of clear stamps but I'm thinking when clear stamps became popular she must have down sized and got rid of her wooden stamps.

This is a House Mouse Designs (circa 1998) stamp called 'Pincushion' which I colored using Tombow markers, artist brush & water.

I've used scraps of Fall Sunflower papers to create my background.

HELLO at the Sisterhood of Crafters

 Hello my friends!

Today I have a card for the new challenge over on The Sisterhood of Crafters!

Our theme today is:

HELLO

Once again, I'm using up some of my old scrapbooking goodies.
The gingham frame and flowers are stickers ... sentiment is from Tutti Designs
and the frame is a left over that was hanging on the 'extras' pegboard.

I hope you'll come join in our challenge fun at The Sisterhood of Crafters!

My 'sistahs' have created some fabulous creations to help inspire you ...
be sure to pop over and check them out!

Encouraging Words

 Happy Monday All . . .

Maybe it's my age (or the state of our world at this point in time),  but lately I've found a lot of people are in need of a loving, encouraging word or two.  I had that in mind when I noticed I had this stamp set in my stash and had never inked it up.

Stampin' Up! In The Moment Stamp Set - RETIRED - Picture 1 of 2

This is the stamp set I'm referring to ... Stampin' Up 'In The Moment'.  And, I see it's retired but you can still find it on EBay.   I'm not really sure when/where I even got this stamp set but I'm glad I did as I like the images & sentiments.  Here are a couple of cards I made the other day to send along to a few friends whom I think could use a pick-me-up . . .

I colored my images first then I chose the papers, etc to showcase them.
I've used Tombow markers for my coloring and Tutti Designs rectangle dies.
